Unknown. . . So whenever it gets hot in the summertime lately. My car has an issue starting sometimes it doesn't start and I've taken it in have the mechanic look at it. They can't figure out what's going on with that. They say that it's known issue that they've had and they told me to bang on the relay inside my vehicle. And sometimes that starts up right away and other times it takes a little bit for my car to start. They could not figure out what was causing it and sometimes all of my lights on my dashboard light up my air bag, abs, check engine. Those will light up and I think it's something to do with the electrical or the fuel system. I don't know, I've replaced parts on it and I'm still having the issue. I don't know what is going on. I've replaced some fuses and they've blown so that's why I'm thinking it's something to do with the electrical. My mechanic couldn't figure out what it was and he says he has had many kias have the same issue.

Engine seized. Purchased car on 9-16-24. One 9-17-24 I went to valvoline and purchased a full synthetic oil change. Within 2000 miles driven since oil change mechanic advised that there was no oil and no leaks. Valvoline assisted my mechanic in the investigation and claimed the Sedona had a oil consumption issues. Manufacturing issues. Car shut off while driving. No light illuminated prior to the shut off and even with no oil there is no check engine light or oil pressure warning.

There is a continuous leakage of oil from my van even after the dealer replaced valve cover gasket . When I complained they said it was the leftover oil. After a month again I complained . Then they re-checked and said it is my car's timing cover reseal leaking . Again after few days I had to complain as there was a leak. I got the same standard reply of leftover uncleaned oil is the cause. Few weeks later I took the van to them and they said they thoroughly cleaned and there won't be any leak. I sent them pictures of oil drops underneth the car like I did on earlier occassions. On August 11th this year they checked the car after my complaint and said there was no active leak. On 30th of this month I sent them the pictures of leaked oil spots which they are going to check on 18th September!. Since I got my first appointment on January 19 2025 I took the vehicle to the dealer 5-6 times. In between I complained to them about failure of door locks and wiper blades. They said they were fine and had no issues. A week ago passenger side door lock stopped working often . I took to a mechanic store run by aaa. Their response after few days was that the electrical system was failing due to bad alternator as the battery got depleted. They recommended me to the dealer again. I was searching google and realised that an oil leak can cause alternator to go bad leading to electric failure and even fire accidents. On [xxx] I noticed red flashing sign of alternator and some other (?) after 2 minutes drive from home. So I immediately turned back and went home and parked the van in the garage and waiting for September 18 for an inspection by the dealer. Last week drove to st louis from lexington, after the dealer confirmed there was no oil leak. In all their reports they mentioned vehicle is in good health! each time when I sent a picture of a leak I requested managers at the receiving desk to park at a clean place and check the leak which they never did. Complete engine failure, knocking like crazy, fuel smell in the oil, the shop said the fuel in the oil broke it down and allowed the motor to fail. We were driving down the highway when it happened with family and kids which was not safe at all. No warning message at all, no check engine light, the shop has inspected and said it’s failed. I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a serious issue my vehicle has been unusable since July due to a defective ac control head. I initially took my vehicle to an authorized dealership, and they informed me that the part required is on national back order. After an extensive search, they located the part at a dealership in California, but the order was canceled. I was then told that many replacement control heads are being returned as defective, leaving me without a functioning vehicle. The dealership has indicated that the back order could take anywhere from one week to three years, which is an unacceptable and indefinite delay. I am currently unable to use my vehicle because temperatures in the phoenix metro area average between 105+ degrees during this time of year. As a mother of four small children, it is unsafe and unreasonable to transport them in such extreme heat without a working air conditioning system. The lack of resolution has placed a significant burden on my family’s daily life. I am requesting immediate attention to this matter, as the situation is now impacting our safety and well-being. The widespread issue with defective parts and lack of availability needs to be investigated and addressed promptly. Thank you for your consideration of this matter. I was driving my 2018 kia Sedona on [xxx]. I had all 4 of my kids with me in the van, I heard a click, click, click, then the car went dark, in the middle of the road no warning nothing. There was no light or anything that came on as a warning. It just died. It was scary to go through that with my kiddos. We are devastated as the car is only 6yrs old and it wont work at all. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, at night going downhill, the lights to the vehicle shut off inadvertently and caused the contact to almost hit a pedestrian. The contact did hit a curb and was disoriented. No airbags deployed. A police report was filed by the sacramento police department. The contact later sought medical attention with their primary care physician. The contact also stated their rear left sliding door does not lock or unlock. Car engine overheated without any warning indicating that it was overheating. It just started smoking. Car is available for inspection upon request. Our safety was put at risk because in 95-degree weather, warm air was coming from ac when car sat idle. The root of the problem has not been confirmed by the dealer. Vehicle pictures were sent to insurance. No warning appeared before failure.

Tha backup camera, windshield wipers stopped working. The car would no t go in reverse or drive forward without resistance. Oil began leaking from the engine.

Van caught fire in the engine compartment burned the firewall.

No lights on the dash, no maintenance or check engine lights. The van began making noises under the hood and then blowing white smoke from the exhaust. The electrical connectors to the fan were melted and hot. To the cooling fan, radiator, etc. The fan connector caused the car to over heat.

Wiring shorts on the rear brake lights. Had to pay for wiring repair.

The turn signals do not work properly. Has I attempt to turn left my right blinker turns on, otherwise none of the blinkers work and blowing my rear light bulbs. I addressed this to the dealer however any dealer or mechanic wants to charge me to look into this. As I was reviewing my cars history it has been noted as a manufacturing issues and failure to repair this defect. I purchased this kia sadoma without being told this was an issue. It seems that the transmission gear li lage issue was not addressed or repaired on my car either. I was not made aware of this issue either. After a year of ownership I only knew of this after reviewing my car history through a database. Now I am very mad and unhappy with the fact that I am driving a vehicle not working properly and everyone wants to charge me a ton of money knowing this is a manufacturing fault issue.

I have needed to replace the drivers side brake light almost every 3 months. I have seen many kia Sedonas with that brake light out.

My vehicle transmission valve body shift solenoid d has malfunctioning causing my engine overheat and nearly explode.

First, the fuel pump was acting up was told the relay was going bad replaced the relay, than we have "esc" and abs light come one for a bout a week took it to get the code read and they said all four wheel sensors (abs) were not transmitting signals ans that my steering angle sensor was bad which I dont think it is equipped with one now today as of 1/6/2024 esc, abs and brake all light up and solid at the same time and ti lost my brakes. No we had no inspections we had warning lights the esc abs & brake with a warning alarm.

When I first bought the vehicle from the dealer ship I had a problem of it not wanting to start. That was back in March of 2023. Called. The dealer ship and they said to bring it in of course I couldn’t do that be cause it wouldn’t start and is parked in the garage. After much utubing and such we managed to get it started I live 50 miles from the dealer ship so I did not take it in but occasionally for no reason it will refuse to start it has done this to me at lease 8 times not including today and this time it just will not start. I believe it has something to do with the anti thief program which is in the car. What if it was bad weather out and I stopped some place and could not get it started. I believe I was sold a defective car. The car has only 62,000 miles on it it had only 57,000 miles on it when I bought it. I am an old person and was forced to buy a new car which I thought would not cause me problems. Guess I was wrong.

Purchase a 2011 kia van from auto connection norfolk virginia the van stared having issues with the electrical sliding door would not shut up properly sometimes it would take 10 to 15 to shut up steering wheel locking up was told by a lock smith that the van had some major electrical issues start leaking brake fluid adding a quart a day took it to several repair shop was informed the van brake lines was in bad shape also the van had a busted cv joint on front drivers side the van also had a strong odor of black mold like it had been in a flood ask dealership to trade me out was told they could not do that ask them for a loaner they say they could not do that either the van is sitting in there repair shop they are demanding money to start working on the van I believe the van was not properly inspected have reported this to the bbb the attorney general office also the ftc the dealership is putting vehicles on the lot for sale without proper state inspection place needs to be investigated they have a guy in the repair shop that put the inspection stickers on his name is kevin place is ripping poor working class folks off worse customer service ever.

Intermittent brake light reporting since November and repaired for leaking fluid. December it continued and been leaking brake fluid. 3 seperate repair companies assessed and found the same issue that the brake module needs to be replaced and electrical compromised. Unknown. I've replaced the alternator and battery. The alternator many times and still having lights come on. Mostly the "brake and battery " lights. It's sitting till further notice. Not drive able.

Two issues: 1. Latch on rear hatch back 2. Buttons on ceiling for side doors became inoperative problems started after my first recall, but these were sporadic, so it was easy to dismiss it because the dealer was cooperative and professional. But now, I noticed there are no recalls other than complaints about the same issues. I suspect that there is a "switch" or command in the program that reverses, but I don't have a clue, other than it is irritating that I have to wait for some upgrade but it does not seem to be listed in order to resolve these issues that are not my fault, but have something to do with the original side door issue, and then a software security upgrade that I am supposed to wait and get before these are fixed. Who contacts us, in writing about these issues?.

I have the air bag indicator light and the diagnostic codes consistent with NHTSA campaign number 19v109, kia recall number sc175. The recall mentions the wiring harness being damaged and my harness is damaged, with two wires severed. However, because my vehicle was manufactured 2 months after the recall cutoff date, kia believes this recall does not pertain to my vehicle. I believe otherwise.

I had to replace the left brake light 4 times already. I see other kia Sedonas that have the same brake light out all the time.

I have a 2015 season kia. I have a security problem. The passenger seat does not see a person, the sensor is faulty.

Headlights will shut off while driving. This sometimes will occur on its own, other times, it appears to be caused when using the turn signal lever. The lights will come back on by touching/moving the lever. This is dangerous and could lead to an accident.

Driving freeway with much traffic. Engine suddenly quit and nothing worked. Had to coast into a safety shoulder and was almost wrecked in the process. There was no warnings on the instrument panel. Car had been routinely serviced. According to kia service, the engine froze due to oil sludge (used synthetic oil). The engine is actually a 2016 model. Mileage is 134,682. Event was 2/623.

My daughter was driving my kia Sedona van - distracted and on wet roads ran into a firehydrant and pole. During the accident, the air bags did not employ. The passenger fell forward and broke the windshield with her head, leading to a concucussion. We are thankful for two children who are alive after this accident. We are disappointed tho that the airbags didnt protect our child more.
