7 Headlights problem of the 2016 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 12/02/2020

The daytime and headlights lights will turn off randomly. (started around the 100k mileage). When stationary, the sliding doors do not shut correctly. 1st the driver's side door begins rattling like change is inside the door. 2nd then the door begins taking 2 turns to close, and then it is hit or miss when closing. The door closure button will occasionally not work, regardless of whether the car is off and parked. (started around the 45000 mileage). The driver's side seat belt connector occasionally indicates a fault error. Also the passenger side seat belt indicator will turn on when 5 pounds or less is in the passenger seat. (started around the 100k mileage). My biggest concern: since I believe the side doors are fatal accidents waiting to happen, I have my kids sit in the 3rd row. Only adults are allowed to sit in my passenger captain chairs. The blind spot warning does not work consistently.

15 Headlights problem of the 2016 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 08/08/2016

The low beam headlights are manufactured to a specification that gives very limited length of visibility making fast highway driving at night very dangerous. Dealership said it was normal, manufacturer is looking into it. Simply put they are by degrees pointed downward too early and this provides very limited visibility and very limited reaction time in the event of a deer or other road hazard - forcing you to use high beams at all times at highway speed at night to ensure reasonable visibility.

16 Headlights problem of the 2010 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 03/25/2016

The low beam headlights were very dim. . . The reson that they were dim was the small yellow front marker light (194 bulb) had burned out. . The vehicle had very limited lighting when on low beam. . . There is no indication that any problem exsits other than the dim bulbs. . . I believe that the grounding curcuit for the low beams is feed thru the side marker bulbs. . . This is a very dangerous problem. The driver of the vehicle had no idea of how long the lights had been dim. . .

18 Headlights problem of the 2006 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 12/25/2013

The low-beam headlights (especially the right side) keeps blowing out. I have replaced/changed more than 6 times since owing my van. It keeps blowing; researched for recalls but there aren't none. Looking online I see that this is an issue with all 2006 kia Sedona's. This last time that it happened, I was on my way to wisconsin from massachusetts and my light went out. It was a scary situation because it made the travel experience scary and dangerous. I didn't have my low-beam and was forced to use my high beam. I was pulled over by police because I was using my high beam; I had to explain the situation and told him that I was going to take care of the problem as soon as area mechanics opened (this was at 4:00am). I have 3 kids and this is a hazard. Problem started almost immediately upon purchasing my van with 11k miles.

19 Headlights problem of the 2008 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 12/01/2013

Front signal light connectors fail to hold bulb in place causing for signal lights to not work. It has caused several close calls with motorists not being able to see I'm turning due to this fault. Takes about and hour to remove both headlights to push bulbs back to place and unfortunately, this will only last a day to a week and then redo all that work. Besides the work it is really unsafe.

20 Headlights problem of the 2006 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 07/12/2013

Headlight burn out. This auto burns out several headlights each year. I have changed about 18 headlight bulbs since purchasing vehicle. All kia Sedona owners have same story and kia USA should find and fix the cause, for the safety of drivers. This is a catastrophe waiting to happen.

21 Headlights problem of the 2002 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 02/04/2013

The headlights keeps blowing. Have replaced 3 times. All the light on the inside keeps coming on (battery, check engine light, seat belt light; bell rings). Had alternator checked and it is fine. The fuses are fine. There is defect with this vehicle, I saw others with the same complaint, even on newer models. The company needs to fix this. Can't drive the vehicle at night. And the light replacement is expensive. There is a shaking and rumbling sound coming from vehicle. Have had engine problems, have had problems every since I this vehicle. Its been at the shop more than on the road. Had I know that the vehicle had so many issues, I would have never purchased it.

22 Headlights problem of the 2006 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 06/12/2012

The lowbeam headlights keep blowing out. They keep blowing and I have notified the dealership and kia directily and they say there hasn't been a recall. Looking online this is an issue with all 2006 kia Sedona's. The other day both lights blew out and I didn't have any lowbeams to drive home. I have small kids and this is a harazd. I had to use high beams to get home. This started around 60k miles and has been ongoing.

23 Headlights problem of the 2006 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 06/14/2011

We own a 2006 kia Sedona. We are replacing headlights at least twice a month. This is becoming quite an expense. Once we change one the other blows. We have had it evaluated by a certified mechanic and he see no wiring issues, however they last bulb we took to him looked as if it had some sort of corrosion on it. Either there is water getting in there or there is a contact issue with the bulb and the electrical mechanism. After reading many comments, I see I am not alone. I think kia needs to look into this. We bought this car for its safety features however, this sounds to me like a it could potentially cause and electrical issue which could in turn cause a fire.

24 Headlights problem of the 2006 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 03/05/2011

We own a 2006 kia Sedona, purchased used. We have had to replace the headlights 3 times in the past year. This is obviously some sort of product defect. This is not the first car we've owned - we have never had to replace headlights that many times in previous vehicles.

25 Headlights problem of the 2008 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 08/01/2010

The contact owns a 2009 kia Sedona. The contact stated that the low beam headlights would not illuminate. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who was unable to diagnose why the headlights failed. The mechanic replaced the low beam headlight bulbs. The failure had since recurred numerous times. The high beam headlights also experienced the same failure on one occasion. After each failure, the vehicle was taken back to the mechanic for repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

27 Headlights problem of the 2006 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 11/18/2009

Headlamps blowing out we have had to replace the headlamps about every 4-6 weeks and have taken it to the dealer 4 times on the head light problem and they say there is nothing wrong. So why do they keep blowing out. We have had both low beams blow out at the same time and have had to drive with the high beams which is unsafe to on coming traffic let along unsafe for us not to have any low beams. The second problem is a steering wheel vibration that we have has been a problem since we purchased the van. The dealer had it for the 1st month we owned it and still have the problem to this day and we are really feeling unsafe driving it due to the vibration at highway speeds. My wife is terrified to even take it on the highway with our three precious children. So if I could get some feedback on these issues I would greatly appreciate it. After doing some internet research there are alot of the same problems other people are having. I am writing this complaint so someone does not have to die due to headlights blowing out, or the steering falls apart or a part fails due to the vibration.

28 Headlights problem of the 2006 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 10/15/2009

My 2006 kia Sedona has had both the driver and passenger low beam headlights burn out very prematurely. I have probably replaced 9 individual headlights since I bought the car in 2006. Bulbs only last 4-6 months each. H7 is the replacement bulb that is recommended and I have wasted my money countless times buying the "premium bulbs" only to have them burn out. Took the car to kia dealer and of course they can't find a problem, but looking at multiple blog sites a lot of other people are having the exact same problem.

29 Headlights problem of the 2006 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 08/14/2009

Haven't had any accident. But have had problems with headlights keep burning out. I have spent so much money buying bulbs. Problems with one of seat belts keeps locking up, and have a scruching noise for years now the dealership say might be suspension.

30 Headlights problem of the 2006 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 07/08/2009

Have replaced the headlight bulbs on my 2006 kia Sedona three times in the last year. Tonight both went out at once. This is a very common complaint on the web, but kia denies any problem. Bulbs were not touched or allowed to touch anything but a clean glove during installation. Great care was taken both times. This time will check the alternator - seems to be a common source in several blog entries.

31 Headlights problem of the 2006 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 02/15/2008

The contact owns a 2006 kia Sedona. The contact stated that the headlights failed. The contact had the light bulbs replaced but the failure recurred several times. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for inspection and was advised that the headlights had burned out. The manufacturer was notified and they informed the contact that the warranty was closed and provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 2,000. . . . . Updated 08-24-12 the consumer stated that along with the low beams failure, the turn signal has failed multiple times. The consumer replaced the headlights on his own as well as taking the vehicle to a repair shop to be replaced. The dealer was made aware of this. The grounding cables to the headlight assemblies were replaced under warranty but, the failure recurred. Updated 09/04/2012.

32 Headlights problem of the 2003 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 11/15/2007

I have a kia Sedona van with approximately 65,000 miles. It has had numerous headlights bulbs that have had to be replaced. In an attempt to prevent this, the dealership has even replaced the entire headlight. The last time a bulb burned out the dealership replaced both bulbs even though only one bulb burned out. The rational for replacing both bulbs was that all of the current was diverted to the headlight that wasn't burned out, hence it shortened the life of the bulb that was working. However, six weeks later a new bulb was already burned out. As I understand from talking with representatives at my dealership, this is a common occurance with the kia van. I have had this problem twice when travelling out of state -- once when it was foggy and both times at night. It is very dangerous to have a car lose a headlight out-of-the blue at night when traveling on unfamiliar roads. Plus, this is becoming expensive!.

33 Headlights problem of the 2006 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 04/01/2007

The contact owns a 2006 kia Sedona. The headlights on both the passenger and driver's side of the vehicle burn out approximately 2-3 times a year. The vehicle has been at the dealer approximately five times. Sometimes the mechanics replace the bulb, and other times they will refuse. The contact believes that there is an electrical issue with the vehicle. On the last visit to the dealer, they replaced the bolt for free because the vehicle was out of warranty. The contact believes it is a manufacturer defect that should be recalled. The failure mileage was 30,000 and current mileage was 78,000.

34 Headlights problem of the 2006 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 03/10/2007

On my brand new kia Sedona both headlights and one turn signal quit working. This happened with less than 500 miles on the vehicle. The problem turned out to be a bad headlight control module. This took approximately a week to get repaired. The repair was covered under warranty.

35 Headlights problem of the 2004 Kia Motor Sedona

Failure Date: 02/23/2006

I have had this vehicle since February 2004. Since I purchased it, I have had to replace the headlights about every three months. They do not go out at the same time. One goes, then several weeks later the other goes. I have taken to replacing them both at the same time, since I know they will both go out within a few weeks of each other.
