Turn Signal Problems of Kia Motor Sorento

In September 2021 the driver side turn signal would intermediately work. Replaced the bulb twice with no difference. Upon further inspection, found 2 wires corroded together. Being the vehicle is still under warranty, the Sorento was taken to a kia dealership in October 2021 which we were told it was damage and not under warranty, and a new harness would need to be installed. No mentioned of why the wires over heated, became brittle, and melted together. During that time, the headlight functions started to decrease drastically as I refused a new harness install being that wouldn't solve the problem of why it happened. No warning lights appeared on dash, no messages, just our first clue something was wrong was the driver turn signal was working in spurts. I ended up pig tailing the light socket in fear of a fire and to fight kia as this is a dangerous situation.

Drivers side rear running lights don't work. No power going to the bulbs (bulbs are good). Except brake lights and turn signals work. Fuses okay. And only one of the two light sockets over the rear license plate has power and works. Kia dealer claims it replaced the burned out bulb in rear license socket, but I checked within a week and no power to the socket. No fuses blown.

With the headlights are in the auto position, while in motion, the headlights randomly turn off when the turn signal is activated and when changing to high and low beam. While in the auto position, the headlights also come on randomly when the car is parked and not running.

My driver side headlight and passenger side turn signal keeps going out and I've taken it to the auto shop to be fixed multiple times it fixes for a few days and out again but the build doesn't burn out because sometime if I turn the car off and back on it will come back on or if I got a bump it will go out.

2017 kia Sorento, awd, mileage ~30k. When the headlights are set to "auto", they will randomly turn off, usually when I activate a turn signal. It happens at all speeds, on all types of road, most often when I'm turning. I've had several 'close calls' at night. Obviously, if the lights turn off unexpectedly, not only can I not see my path forward, but others can't see me either. This is serious issue, well known to kia and should be subject to a recall before someone dies or is seriously injured. It has happened numerous times, most recently on the date shown below.

While making a turn both headlights go out while turn signal is on. Then after making turn they come back on. Doesn't happen all the time intermittent and random. Very dangerous.

Lighting has went out multiple times, both headlights and now turn signals. When headlight go out, it often melts the light bulb socket and burns wires. When the turn signal went out, the bulb burning out caused the computer to short out, by design according to the service technician. Lights randomly go out without warning, often flickering, especially when hitting bumps.

When the headlights are in the auto setting, they will randomly turn off while driving. I most often notice this at night, but I can see it happens at times during the day if the lights are on because I notice the dashboard indicators change. This sometimes occurs after using the turn signal, but that's not always the precursor. It happens when going 65 mph on a highway, going 45 mph on exit ramps, on 25 mph on local streets. I reported the issue to kia customer service, and they said I had to take to a dealer. I took it to a dealer in October 2018. The technician drove it 50 miles round trip to and from his home, but could not reproduce the issue. The issue continued intermittently and I took it to a different dealer in September 2019. They diagnosed the problem as a bad electronic control unit and ordered the part. I returned to the dealer on October 12, 2019, to have the part installed. While driving later that night, the headlights turned off while I was going 65 mph on interstate 270. I tried to quickly jiggle the lever, and then the lights turned back on. Many others have reported this same issue. It's obviously dangerous, and kia should figure out the problem and issue a recall.

Air bag light on, headlights will turn off when in auto mode when I use left turn signal steering wheel controls not working or work improperly ie volume control will change radio station or advance track on media back up camera will black out while still in reverse.

In the past 3-4 months I have replaced my battery twice the 1st time I had my truck about 2. 5yrs so I didn't think much of it but I had the same problem after replacing battery within 3-4 months battery would die I would get a boost after a few days same thing happen again. Electrical system seems out of wack when I use left turn signal my headlights will go off until I turn the turn signal off, also my steering wheel controls will not operate the right feature ie I would hit mute but it will not mute but act as if it is the volume down control air bag light for passenger would come on even if no one was in the seat.

The front windshield wipers start working by itself without pressing any control. Specialty at night and the washer pump does not work. Sometimes when using turn signals or headlights and the only way to stop it is turning off the engine. It is scary because you do not expect such occurrences and makes a distraction when you are driving in the speedway, here in south carolina without any lights in the road and the I 26 is not an easy road to drive safety.

The contact owns a 2007 kia Sorento. Three days after purchasing the vehicle, the air bag light illuminated, which indicated that the passenger side air bag was deactivated. While driving between 40-45 mph, the vehicle hesitated and jerked. When the vehicle is stopped at a stop sign or a red light, the exterior lights shut off. The contact has had to strike the dashboard in order to get the air conditioning to work. In addition, none of the windows will roll down. The blinkers, turn signal, and cruise control do not work. After owning the vehicle for ten months, the alternator had to be replaced and it currently needs to be replaced again. The rails to step up into the vehicle had to be replaced twice. During a crash with a deer, both the driver's and passenger side air bags failed to deployed and the seat belts did not work. As a result, the passenger sustained a broken arm. On two occasions, when the vehicle was taken to the dealer, the contact was informed that the tires needed to be rotated and aligned. On the third occasion, she was informed that the vehicle was out of warranty. Since owning the vehicle, she has been to the dealer several times with many complaints, but they have never made any repairs. A Hyundai inspector stated that the entire vehicle was out of specifications. The failure mileage was 600. Updated 09/23/08. The consumer hit a deer and the air bags did not deploy and the seat belts did not perform as they were designed. The transmission would delay in shifting and would not shift in the correct gear.
