This is ongoing condition from delivery of vehicle. Based on car complaints already filed on car complaints. Com we believe kia knows about this problem. There is some sort of relationship of night driving and low beam headlights that causes very dark shadow on windshield that abstructs driver vision. We further assert that knowing this kia willfully adjusts headlights too high to try to conceal problem. (dealer said they were set 8" too high. But when adjusted to factory settings the problem got worse. Case number entered with kia. Now in escalation mode . . . However we live on top of a mountain with 3000 foot drops if our vision is obstructed and we miss edge of road. The headlights were adjusted back to the higher setting but we feel that will blind on coming cars still another safety danger. Kia must fix this problem. Headlamp multifunction switch set to "auto", while using the turn signal (either direction) the headlights will suddenly turn off. . . While driving at night this is extremely dangerous and disorienting. . . Almost caused an accident. To correct this, I had to jiggle the switch or turn it to manual on.

Daytime driving lights turn on after vehicle completely off, hours later and can drain the battery if not caught in time. Also while driving at night, lights go completely off by themselves and have to manually try to turn on, very dangerous and someone is going to die if not recalled.

After replacing bulbs, headlights, especially low beams, are dangerously low. Very low visibility at night and even more difficult to see when there is oncoming traffic and when it is raining. This morning on my way into work it was raining and almost missed a curve in the road due to low visibility. I slowed to make the curve and hit a patch of water (again, because of the low visibility I did not see) and hydroplaned almost hitting a vehicle coming from the opposite direction. Fortunately I did not overcorrect and regained control before a collision took place. There have been several other times when I could not see the turn coming up or entrances to exit ramps on the highway. My hope was that changing the bulbs would help, but even with getting the brightest bulbs at the auto part store, the lights are still just as dim. In doing research, I am finding that this is a comin issue with these vehicles.

On a number of occasions, both headlights on my 2014 kia Sorento have gone out at the same time. Usually if I open the headlight housing and twist the light plug this will cause the light to work. But other times one of the two lights will be burnt out. The issue is both lights go out at the same time. I have brought it to the attention of my local dealership but they could find nothing wrong.

Headlights causing moving shadows, blind areas, phantom objects. Unsafe because visibility is reduced, compromised. Dangerous to operators and passengers. Has a high probability of causing an accident.

Keep having to replace headlight bulbs and now headlights don't work at all ! had to drive home at night with only parking lights in FL keys, very terrifying and not safe at all. Prior to the lights not working I would have to replace a bulb at least every 3 months, got pulled over once by the police because a headlight was out and I didn't know it was out. I had just replaced it!.

My headlights keep going out. A few weeks ago, I left for work at 5am, traveling on an unlit road when my headlights completely flicker off. I had to wait until daylight to get to work. When I got back in after my shift, the headlights worked again. A few days later, the passenger side headlight went out. I replaced it. A few days later, it went out again. My husband checked it and found the part that the bulb goes in was melted. Nothing seems to work, changed bulbs multiple times, tried ceramic parts, even rewired it. Mechanics tell me it's an electrical issue, but then they can't find the problem when they look at my car. I've since found out that this is a common problem with the kia Sorento. This is a major safety issue for anyone traveling at night. Why isn't this a recall issue?.

Was driving home on icy snow covered roads with three children in my vehicle when all of a sudden my passenger low beam light went out making it difficult to see the road. On too of the snow and ice mixture I was also traveling through an area of construction so all the street lights were out and having only one headlight made it difficult and scary to navigate the road and all the construction comes. I drove the rest of the way home with my high beams on and the next day immediately bought a replacement bulb. Which was a waste of money. . . . . Because the bulb is not the issue. Being a single mom of 3 I do not have money to be wasting and now I'm not only out the money for the bulb but I still have to passenger side low beam making it unsafe for me to drive at night and I cannot afford a ticket for driving everywhere with my high beams on. From reading all these complaints it sounds like the whole assembly needs replaced which is expensive and also not something I will be able to afford anytime soon. I just bought this vehicle used a couple months ago and I have loved it up until now. I wish that kia would issue a recall and fix what is obviously a manufacturers mishap.

Car was driven a night and headlight were terrible. Vaguely lights a a road sign on a dark street at 100 yards. Both bulbs have been recently replaced. Seems to be very common with these cars. Contacted kia and got no help other than take to dealer and pay service fee. Others have received no help. Usual are told it is just the way these lights are. These light will not light a closed garage at night.

On Dec 31 2020 I replaced both headlight bulbs due to the passenger bulb being out. On approximately Jan 20th 2021, bulb was not on (driver's side was on). Pulled bulb and put it back in, making sure it was securely seated. Turned on lights, bulb came back on. The next day, noticed bulb was out again (driver's side still working). Bought a new bulb, replaced other bulb which is less than 3 weeks old. On approximately Jan 30th, noticed bulb was out again (driver's side still working). Vehicle has never been in an accident, nor has the headlight assembly been replaced, only the bulb. On Jan 31 I pulled existing bulb, snapped back into place, turned vehicle back on. Bulb which appeared to not be working, turned on. Pulled bulb and put in the previous bulb (bought Dec 31 2020) back in, snapped in place, turned vehicle on, and bulb worked. This would seem to indicate a problem with either the headlamp assembly, or the "pigtail" for the low beam bulb.

Headlights initially were just flickering on occasion now headlights are turning off while driving. Sometimes they go back on and sometimes they don�t. Warning ⚠️ comes on and dash display also indicates a headlamp issue. Sometimes turning them on and off helps. Been gradually getting worse. Now all lights will not turn on including brights. Horn also not working. Has happened multiple times at night on busy city streets.

Went to check my headlight bulb as my headlight stopped working again after just replacing the bulb a few weeks ago. What I found is that the connector to the bulb was completely melted.

Took my car to the mechanic for a second opinion regarding low beam lights shutting off when I turn on the high beams. This occurred frequently when using high beams. Also, my headlights (low beams) consistently burnt out. Had to install 2-3 new bulbs in each headlight (within 1 yr. ). Mechanic said problem is more than just the lights, the knock sensor was bad and needed more work than what they were willing to do and recommended me going back to kia. Driving home from my mechanic, I was on the surface streets to get on the freeway, a knocking noise occurred when accelerating, sounded like it was going to throw a rod, which led me to check the oil. My oil changes are completed on schedule and was not due for another oil change for 3,000 miles. The oil was bone dry. I put in 4 quarts of oil and drove on surface streets, back to my mechanic. Mechanic said it is about to throw a rod and that I needed to drive it slowly and get it to kia. As I drove the car home on the freeway, I was in the number one lane, passing a semi-truck in the number two lane, car started shaking, all the lights started blinking, the orange steering wheel warning light went on and the entire car completely shut down. I had to coast to the shoulder on the freeway. I had no hazards or blinkers. Tow truck arrived and checked my oil, he said there were metal shavings and barely any oil. Towed the car back to the mechanic and they said I needed a new engine. Had the car towed to my home and it now sits in my driveway. Prior and during all of this, not one time did any warning lights on the dashboard go on (other than the one steering wheel light when the car shut down).

The headlights went out while I was driving on the highway going 70 miles per hour. I was getting ready to brake and turn and was unable to see anything outside of the vehicle. The lights were off for approximately 10 seconds.

Headlight keep blowing.

Passenger side headlight went out. The clip on the housing that holds the headlight was broken. Replaced it. Light started working then went out again. This time the wires in the housing came loose. Light out again. It doesn't matter if the car is stationary, in motion, it'll work when it wants to. As for the body of the vehicle. . . . Pulled into a car wash to spray it off. Turned around to start and noticed on the driver side mirror a spot of paint missing about the size of a quarter. Down to the primer. The paint is dark cherry pearl. There is no scratch, dent, or anything that caused it.

Airbag light came on today while driving on the highway (roughly70mph), will not shut off, vehicle not under recall for airbags at this time. Headlights and taillights randomly come on and off, even with brand new bulbs, have changed bulbs almost monthly in last 3 years. Buttons on steering wheel do not work properly - including cruise control not working, volume button starts voice command, etc.

Headlights intermittently turn off while driving or don't work when you turn the car on and then will randomly start working again. It is usually just one headlight, but did have both go out one night.

Low beam headlight bulbs burn out and need to be replace every 3 to 4 months. This issues has occurred while driving on highways like interstate 81 or highway 322 and 11/15 in pennsylvania. They have always burnt out with being stationary in parking lots at all times and season of the year. When one side burns out it can be a month to 4 months before the other side burns out. I purchased the vehicle in early 2019 and since that time I have replace almost 10 or more bulbs since owning the vehicle.
