The contact stated that a quart of oil was added every 1,000 miles. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the engine experienced a misfire. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to kia of alliance (2010 w. State st, alliance, OH 44601) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact replaced the spark plugs and ignition wires however, the failure persisted. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 19v120000 (engine, engine and engine cooling). The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,954.

The shop said that the engines are hard to find due to this being a ongoing problem with the 1. 6 liter 2013 kia Soul. My kia has 160,000 on it but has been well maintained. I contacted kia and they are not taking any responsibility yet sold these kias knowing the engine was faulty.

The manufacturer was contacted and notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 116700. The VIN was not available. Ah.

In April 29, 2019 had safety recall (NHTSA recall #19v120) work done on my 2013 kia Soul for the catalytic converter, now five months later my check engine light comes on. I have the check engine light check out at auto zone and o reilly auto store, the code error reading p0420 catalytic converter failing. I contract kia dealership service department in houston, texas. The service advisor informed me, �that since I have 100k on the 2013 kia Soul the car catalytic converter is not covered. I will have to pay out of pocket for repair of the catalytic converter. � I was also told by service advisor, the software (catalytic overheating protection) upgrade only for the recall. Service advisor stated �supposedly nothing was found on the diagnostic program for the software upgrade. � I explained to service advisor went in brought my 2013 kia Soul for the recall, the check engine light was not on at all. Service advisor informed me that need the contact Kia Motor. I send an email the Kia Motor company on the recall problem. On october16, 2019, the Kia Motor representative contract me about the recall problem. The Kia Motor representative stated �I have to pay for them to check the recall diagnostic problem. The kia local dealership is not apart Kia Motor company. You are responsible for the repairs". It just funny those five months go by and all of a sudden there is a problem. I have been loyal kia customers for some time, until now. They will not check out the recall problem of free.

Tl- the contact owns a 2013 kia Soul. While driving the motor caught on fire. The vehicle stalled. The motor and catalytic converter was faulty. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph the vehicle suddenly began to shake and smoke came from the air vent before the engine suddenly exploded. Flames was seen coming from under the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer martin kia located at 2211 scottsville rd. Boiling green ky. Who diagnosed that the engine was faulty. The engine and catalytic converter were replaced under the NHTSA recall campaign number 19v120000(engine). Approximately four months later the vehicle began to exhibit problems while driving at speeds over 40 mph the vehicle would shake and stall and the check engine light had illuminated. The manufacturer and local dealer was notified of the failures but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 130,000. Jft.

Kia Soul 2013 recall. We were driving home from work on the freeway going about 55mph and the check engine light started flashing. We rushed immediately to the kiadealership after hearing about the kia engine fires. They scanned our vechiel and saidone of the engine coils may stop working. They said our car could just stop working on the road and then we would need to tow it in. This doesn't sound like a clear explaination of the problem to me. I'm concerned we'll keep driving the car and it will catch on fire.

I was going down the freeway speed limit is 70mph my foot is on the gas and my car seems to decreased in speed no lights came on prior to my car shutting down(like check engine light or oil light etc) my kia Soul has completely stopped on the freeway and only then does the check engine light come on this was back at the end of February 2019 couple of months go by I have no clue as I what's going on with my vehicle it's now may 2019 and I just got word from the shop that it's a piston which was the cause for my engine to die out.

Takata recall : check engine light comes on, stays on for a few days, then turns off for a few hours. The error code reads p0420. My fuel efficiency has significantly dropped and I have a significant loss of power as my car now struggles to accelerate. A smell similar to spray paint has been present inside the car on occasion. The engine has grown loud. However, my VIN number is not pulling up any recalls. This does not make sense, given my specific issues with my vehicle.
