The seat belt sensor for the air bags has gone out 3 times. The first time happened about 2500k miles and was under warranty, the second time was after 60k miles and we had to pay for it about $100, the third time it went out was about 80k miles. I was quoted $300 to have it replaced again but when I complained they offered to do it for $100. I think this is a safety issue and it appears to need a recall on the part. I do not think that we should have to pay to have this part replaced and in the mean time we are driving around without the sensor working for the air bag. Good job kia!.
Dealer repaired airbag they replaced from belt to sensors and airbag still light, now no more warranty they deny repair.

March 30th I was involved in an accident, a lady pulled accross traffic and I had no time to stop, needless to say I slammed into her drivers side door at about 30mph. The entire front end of my kia sprortage was damaged with about $6700 in damages and the air bags didn't deploy and myself and my passengers were in our seat belts but badly bruised and thrown about. I was informed by kia that I didn't hit the sensors . . . Ok the whole front end was gone where exactly are the sensors? I don't feel safe in the car and my children are in it , please can some one tell me what to do? I feel that I'm stuck with a vehichle that isn't safe and I don't seem to have any recourse. Thank you for your time.

I rear ended another car on the highway going approx. 10-15 miles an hour. The airbag sensor was smashed and neither airbags deployed. I was told in the beginning that the airbag misfired and went off inside the dashboard. Now they are unable to tell me wether the airbags deployed or not and they do not know if they are even going to fix them. I am livid!.

Vehicle had four recalls and airbag light kept flashing. Recalls were on brake hoses, front buckle assembly, electrical wiring and missing label. While driving the vehicle air bag light began to flash. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the technician indicated that the air bag module had failed. While driving the vehicle's check engine light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken tot he dealer who indicated that the coils were cracked. Transmission line was leaking.
Air bag sensor module failed.
Consumer stated air bag sensor light stayed on. Consumer was concerned that in a crash air bags will not deploy upon impact.
Engine check light is on, the car is stalling, the air bag lights are on. I am afraid that they will deploy at any given time. Almost killed myself and my daughter on the queenboro bridge, I was going 40 and all of a sudden the car accelerated on it's own, I applied the brakes, but they had turned hard, I had no brakes, put emergency brakes, but nothing, when it was nearing an accident because I had to stop I threw the car in neutral which slowed it down enough for me to safely put it in park in the middle of a bridge. The cars engine roared when I put in park I couldn't move or fear of killing myself. The locks on the car keep opening and closing by themself. It needs 2 quarts of engine oil every month. I am totally dissatisfied with this car.
