While operating vehicle at 45 mph, engine crankshaft seized and vehicle broke down in the middle of the roadway. This diesel engine was serviced routinely and oil changed with specified Land Rover oil per manufacturer specs. There is a class action lawsuit in uk over this motor for defective crankshaft issues. This is a 2016 rr tdv6 gen 2 diesel motor with about 145k miles. There is a Range Rover service bulletin regarding defective crankshaft issues. The manufacturer declines to handle this as a defective manufacturer issue and will only offer a new motor at our cost.

Saw a recall for coolant lines on other Land Rover models but they have the same engine as my model. Land rover says my VIN is not covered but it is doing exactly the same thing as the recalled models. I am losing coolant and can smell it through the vents into the cabin. I believe the issue extends beyond the initial models they stated. I believe it is a common issue with these particular engines. The 5. 0l and the 3. 0l.

Unsatisfactory review for 2025 Range Rover se I purchased a 2025 Range Rover se in November 2024 for nearly $200,000, expecting a luxury vehicle with reliability to match its price tag. Unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. In December 2024, just one month after purchase, the vehicle completely died while I was driving on the highway—a terrifying and unacceptable failure for a brand-new car. The vehicle was towed to the dealership, where it has remained ever since. What has made this experience even worse is Range Rover’s appalling customer service. The company’s “repurchasing” agreement process, which I initiated nearly two months ago, is lengthy, convoluted, and appears designed to disadvantage the customer at every step. Despite repeated attempts to get answers, there has been no clear timeline for resolution, no updates from anyone with decision-making authority, and absolutely no way to escalate the matter to management. For a vehicle in this price range, I expected premium customer care, but what I’ve received is the opposite: silence, frustration, and the sense that Range Rover cares more about protecting itself than making things right for its customers. Until Range Rover makes significant improvements to the reliability of its vehicles and its customer service, I cannot recommend this brand to anyone. Buyers beware—you may end up with a luxury-priced lemon and no way to resolve it.
Driving and suddenly got "engine overheating low coolant stop engine immediately" warning message on instrument cluster. Pulled over and found coolant pouring out of front of engine. There was no warning or signs of prior coolant leakage before this incident. Happened suddenly without warning. Dealer found coolant pipe assembly part number lr100352 split at seam. This is the fourth failure of the same part number, same failure within a three year period and 30000 miles. All parts where Land Rover parts supplied by dealership. Land rover has been made aware through several complaints that there is a widespread issue with their vehicles that requires recall. Thousands of customers have reported issues in their vehicles with cylinder 4 cracked pistons resulting in engine failure. Land rover refuses to address the issue in their vehicles causing this malfunction and costly vehicle repair. Land rover needs to issue a recall to address and rectify this issue in their vehicles as this issue results in the vehicle losing speed and coming to a complete halt with no warning from the vehicle. The vehicle does not display any warnings even if dangerously low on oil - no warning sign will display. This could result in death of multiple people and cause crashes. It is highly dangerous and needs to be addressed by Land Rover with urgency.
On first occastions while driving at 60+ mph on a busy highway, the vehicle beeped for a few seconds and the dashboard went blank, engine died, no brakes, no power steering. It was only a miracle that saved me from being hit at a high speed by other drivers. The dealer charged the battery and updated the sw. Approximately 5 weeks later, on the second occasion after driving 300 miles out of town, the same thing happened again. Luckily, I was on a local road and was able to get off the travel lanes. On both occasions, the vehicle was towed to a Land Rover dealership. The vehicle remains at the dealership now for the past 10 days while they try to figure out the problem. The vehicle is less than 3 months with only 2600 miles. The service advisor at my local dealership told me that there have been several similar cases and that lr cannot seem to diagnose or fix the problem.

On July 16th, 2021, this vehicle was purchased from frankel Range Rover as a certified 2017 Range Rover with 36k miles on it. The vehicle has always received maintenance on time and directly from the Range Rover dealership as scheduled. However, without warning signs, lights or indicators of any kind on January 31st, 2024 the car started making a strange noise and was immediately towed directly back to where it was purchased. The car has been at the dealership for over 3 weeks and unable to be diagnosed. Finally I get a call that the certified vehicle that I purchased less than 3 years with 36k miles on it and that I have driven less than 30k miles requires a new engine with only 63,700 miles on the odometer. This vehicle has a major issue if it requires a engine and had to be a lemon. The manufacturer is stating that a new engine will cost roughly $38,900. Please look into this because having me drive a lemon vehicle with no warning signs is a safety risk to not only my family but others. The problem as been inspected by the dealership and there were not any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, the problem began on January 31st, 2024.
My car has 58000 miles and the alternator failed on the way due to valve cover gasket leaking oil on top of alternator to and ultimately fail. Due to alternator failure the cars driving features shutdown within few seconds all the warning lights came up and emergency braking, suspension and gears stopped working. This is a serious concern as the car systems shutdown this could have put me in a dangerous situations in mountains.

There was no warning or signs of prior coolant leakage before this incident. Happened suddenly without warning. Repair shop found coolant pipe assembly part number lr100352 split at seam. This a repeat of same failure dated 6/22/2021 @42651 miles complaint # 11630060.
Vehicle indicator states no more starts in 249 miles due to quality of diesel exhaust fluid. Car has been to dealership 3times and continues light/indicator comes on. Only owner of car and always new highest quality blue def used for vehicle. Car stopped while I was on a trip and would not restart while I was in a remote area. Dangerous situation stuck in middle of nowhere as female alone. Reviewing literature/blogs related to this issue and unbelievable amount of consumers with same issue. Thousands of dollars spent by reports and no resolution. This is not an issue of a part wearing and not working. It is obviously more involved as faulty equipment. One of the mechanics even advised me to sell the car because it is not “fixable”. We paid over $120,000 for this vehicle to have an issue that locks our car down and is not fixable. We have contacted Range Rover direct more than 3 times with no success. I asked about recalls because so many people are having this issue and they told me I had to report my concern to you. Any assistance with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
The vehicle is doing the exact behavior of technical bulletin n206nas1. The fuel gauage indicates low fuel and the low fuel warning lamp is illuminated although the fuel tank is known not to be empty. The engine will cut off unexpectedly while driving and it is considered unsafe. This is a known issue and the dealer refused to give the vehicle a service update without having the tech charge a large fee to plug in the car when its a known issue. Please advise.
I purchased this Range Rover in November of 2022. The vehicle was serviced once at the dealership for wind noise on June 26, 2023. The vehicle was parked at my home for a week while our family was on vacation before I returned on August 10th, 2023. It was not driven during this time period. On August 10th, 2023 I came out of the house to drive the vehicle and remotely unlocked the car and sat in the vehicle. One of my children's cars was parked behind me, so I got out of the car and took another vehicle to run a quick 20 minute errand. I returned home and went inside the house. Shortly thereafter the Range Rover caught fire under the hood on the passenger side of the vehicle. The vehicle was parked under the soffit of my house and ended up catching my entire house on fire. The car continued to burn under the hood until it was put out by the fire department. The fire department and other investigators traced the source of the fire to the right front portion of the Range Rover under the hood on the passenger side. My neighbor also witnessed the car buring in this area right before he went to get a fire extinguisher and call the fire department.
Repeated issues of low cooling warning leading to engine overheating - severely resulting in tow in. Prior Land Rover dealer repair (prior to my purchase under certified warranty) was inadequate, causing coolant crossovers in front and rear to be cracked. Engine overheated steamed close to home, and vehicle towed in to lr dealer in area. Took two months to repair and at time, they thought engine was blown, but assured me repairs complete. Within 6 months, same warning light, took to lr dallas dealer and said no issue. Within 13 months of major repair, taken into lr dallas dealer, and now told I need a brand new engine. Repeated repairs the same engine defect, issue and now lr won't repair under warranty (now) when I was told a few weeks ago, they would repair with new engine. Now, have a completely worthless car, that was certified 2. 75 years ago. Total shop time for all this 5 months and counting.
Urgent vehicle on freeway abruptly stops to 30 mph and warning light states " emergency restricted driving" 7 times. Had Range Rover deisel towed to " Jaguar Land Rover of newport 3 times, (9494854642 yulissa) 2 times "fixed" only to dangerously recurring, this time they have had it 4 months, with 4 diagnosis and failed repairs, and test failures. I'm affraid to drive it home when they say maybe they fixed it again . This vehicle has had 9 check engine lights and unsafe repairs in 3 years I have 50 texts and 6 repair bills, but I don't know how to download them.
There is a fleetwide problem with the def system in these vehicles that is well known to the manufacturer yet they have failed to address it. The system frequently produces a def error which causes the vehicle to go into a shutdown mode, which can leave the occupant stranded in a dangerous situation.
Cooling notification not sufficient. Sensor location will not measure if coolant is low, therefor causing complete failure of engine of overheating without warning/error.
Persistent recurring “incorrect def quality, no restart in 250 miles” issues, the same problem has occurred six times since October of last year. Dealer could not completely solve this issue.
The contact owns a 2012 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact stated while driving at 70-75 mph, the vehicle started jerking and surging. Additionally, the contact heard abnormal loud sounds coming from the engine. There was no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred intermittently. The contact stated while driving at 5-10 mph in her brother's drive away, the vehicle went into restricted driving mode, jerked forward continuously until she reached the end of the driveway. An unknown message was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the variable timing activator (vta) had failed, the engine jumped timing, there was an internal engine damage, and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance due to the vehicle mileage and age. The failure mileage was approximately 140,693.

At the end of may, about 10 days after getting my car serviced at the Land Rover manhattan location middle of may, I headed to a short trip with my family. An hour into our trip, I could hear horrible noises coming from the engine, as if the gears were grinding with the engine shaking drastically. As I tried to pull to the side of the highway to safety, smoke started coming out of the front of my car. I got my family out of the car immediately and called roadside assistance. I went to inspect my car while we waited, and I noticed that there was oil all over the front (and rear) bumpers, as if all of the oil had spilt while I was driving. This was extremely strange since there was no light on my dashboard and my car had recently been serviced. It has been a month and a half since the incident and I have yet to get a clear idea of what exactly went wrong and I have yet to receive back my car.
The contact owned a 2017 Land Rover Range Rover 3. 0l v6 s/c petrol 4wd auto. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked in the driveway there was a funny smell coming from the vehicle. It then exploded. The fire department came to extinguish the vehicle. The trees caught on fire and the front of the house. The vehicle was a loss. The fire department stated the vehicle there was gas and electrical malfunction in the gas line in the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 33,000.
One or more rigid pipes in the coolant system failed when driving down the interstate. This resulted in almost immediate overheating and the computer curtailed engine power, apparently to prevent permanent engine damage. This was very dangerous, as I was in heavy 80+ mph traffic and lost power before I could pull off onto the shoulder. This is apparently a common problem, as the rigid pipes separate at the manufacturing seam. I was still under warranty, and Land Rover had us towed to the closest dealer which was 75 miles away. That dealer told me they had two other Land Rovers in the shop with the same identical problem, and that these pipes fail "by 50,000 miles every time" (I was at 47,500 miles). The pipes in question are on all the 5. 0 liter v8's used in Land Rover and Jaguar products, but the failure seems more common on supercharged versions of the v8 (which I have). The pipes are under the supercharger and subjected to excessive heat/cool cycling which leads to failure.
Help.

Vehicle went from park to reverse by itself. Drivers door was wide open when my wife started vehicle and by it self it engaged in reverse and ran the door into a wall. The vehicle almost ran over my wife while she was attempting to exit the vehicle. Luckily she was able to jump back in and push the brake to stop the car. My son was behind the car loading items. Luckily he had moved seconds before.

Goes dead without warning. This happens both in town and on the highway. You lose all of your power steering and brakes. The dealership nor regular shops have been able to solve the problem. It will start right back up.
Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact stated that upon turning off the vehicle, a warning light battery low, start engine would illuminate. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where they were unable to find a defect with the vehicle.
