I have the 2014 Range Rover with the v6 supercharged gas engine. During a rolling start, such as rolling start to perform a u-turn or merging into a highway, the acceleration is delayed by at least 2 seconds, which is very dangerous. Especially during merging on to the freeway the 2 seconds acceleration lag could send false information to the other cars and made me almost crash for a few times. It should be a transmission or engine management software update to address this issue.

Vehicle lost power on two occasions. Both instances took place while the vehicle was stopped in traffic with the driver's foot on the brake. Vehicle shut itself off and put itself in park with no input from the driver. Vehicle's onboard tracking software recorded both events. One event took place on a two lane rural road while stopped at a light. The second took place on the interstate highway while stopped in a traffic back up. Incidents have been reported to Jaguar Land Rover.

I bought a used Range Rover sport VIN number salk2d49aa241247 from a sleazy shop. They kept the vehicle on pretense for three days. First day I got vehicle within 24 hour severely over heated, coolant coming out , causing throttle and the ruination of the engine. Any other like situation for 2010 Range Rover reported. The vehicle is a goner. Someone drove it about one hour and without any lights going on the vehicle started steaming badly. Pulled over never ran again. The cost of repair is more then the valus of the vehicle. Did the dealer have reason to know? any like reported incidents for that year.

The contact owns a 2012 Land Rover Range Rover l322. While the vehicle was stationary, it failed to start when prompted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 92,000.
In stop and go traffic for approximately 20 minutes the Range Rover¿s eco mode was engaging properly and shutting down the engine. It had been restarting properly however in one instance the vehicle did not restart and the ¿d¿ indicator flashed. This left the vehicle disabled in the middle lane of traffic. Restarting the engine solved the problem however this could have been dangerous if I had been unable to reengage ¿drive. ¿.

I was turning into a parking space going approx. 2 mph when suddenly the car accelerated so fast that it jump onto the curb and hit a tree. Luckily, I did not hit a person or another car. However, my brand new car is now in the body show and is estimated to cost at least $40k. It completely damaged the inside of my car. Its mind boggling to me how the speed all of a sudden went so fast. Note that I do not have the VIN because it is in the body shop. Also, it is the Range Rover sport 2014 (that option was not available in the selection so I just chose Range Rover 2014).
I have an unresolved issue with Land Rover relating to the engine / transmission warning light and the need for an O2 sensor to be fitted to the vehicle. Land rover (south west freeway, houston) have been unable to a) source the O2 sensor b) ensure that the vehicle is running correctly c) give me a date when the part will be available. Feel like I am being ignored by the garage having had the vehicle in 3 times for diagnostics and twice told that the part would be fitted when they had none in stock.
I wanted to inform you of a very serious issue with 2014 Range Rovers that may either cause an accident or strand someone many miles from civilization! I stopped the vehicle and the rotary shifter would not pop up as it was stuck down and the car was stuck in drive! I had to shut the vehicle off and then it would not shift out of drive so it would not start when the start/stop button was pushed! this is a major safety issue and needs to be addressed ASAP. My car is now at the dealer and they are saying it will be at least 2 weeks to repair.
When starting the vehicle smoke appeared through the cracks of the dash board. The ignition was turned into the off position and when trying to start it again, it didn't turn, the ignition was locked. Flames then shot through the cracks on the dashboard near the radio. Within seconds the vehicle was engulfed and within 3 minutes it was totaled. Thankfully I got out the car in time.

Throttle will stay open (and seemingly open a bit more) for approximately 1/2 - 3/4 of a second after foot removed from accelerator pedal. Particularly troublesome at very slow speeds, parallel parking, etc. When "coasting" or simple idling is expected, but vehicle seems to continue as if accelerator is lightly pressed.

The contact owns a 2003 Land Rover, Range Rover hs3. While driving approximately 80 mph, the transmission failed and the contact attempted to accelerate but to no avail. The vehicle then down shifted to a lower gear and as the accelerator was engaged, the vehicle became more resistant. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic and they replaced the front differential, propeller assembly and the yoke. The contact stated the failure had previously occurred and the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA campaign id number: 08v635000 (power train: driveline: driveshaft). The failure mileage was 78,000 and the current mileage is 82,000. The consumer stated the drivetrain was replaced twice, before the recall was announced. The consumer believed the failure caused the engine to fail. Oil became mixed with the engine coolant. Updated evoq 08/04/jb updated 8/9/10 updated 08/11/10.
I have owned two 2006 Range Rover hse. The first one Land Rover purchased back from me due to their failure to be able to fix the problem with the engine smoking and losing power. They told me at the time that my vehicle was the only one in north America to have this particular problem. It had around 13,000 miles on it when they purchased it back from me. The vehicle had been in the shop for one week the first time on a different problem and then when it went in for the smoking engine it was in the shop for about 5 weeks before they bought it back and at that time I purchased another 2006 Range Rover hse. My latest Range Rover is in the shop for the smoking engine and loss of power. I guess that I have the only two vehicles now in north America that are experiencing these issues, but I sincerely doubt it.
On April 6 2006 at 1:30 am I pulled into my parking space. I noticed that there was smoke coming from under the hood of my car. My boyfriend to take a look. When he opened the hood there was a fire. We tired to put it out but had no success so a resident called the fire department and they came to control the fire. Until now we don't know what cause the fire. As I was checking on safety recalls we came across this web site and read up on a recall campaign-(coolant system durability 1995 to 1999 my Land Rover Range Rover). If this is the cause of the fire to my vehicle shouldn't (Land Rover) be responsible for our damage? looking for to hearing from you and settling this matter. Sincerely yours.

My husband and I purchased a 1998, Land Rover Range Rover 4. 6 hse (VIN# salpv1440wa402325) from frankel Land Rover hunt valley on September, 06, 2002. We purchased the Range Rover Land Rover certified, which came with a 12-month/ 12,000 mile warranty after additional inspection work was done above and beyond a maryland state inspection. After having the Range Rover for nearly five months, it incurred major problems. The Range Rover broke down twice within a week. Below is a summary of each incident. Incident #1 February 5, 2003 at about 8pm I was driving the Range Rover, heading home when the first problems arouse. The Range Rover was over heating. I noticed the temperature gauge read hot. Then the steering became very hard. When I pulled over, I noticed the Range Rover started smoking from under the hood. I then got out of the Range Rover and noticed something was dripping under the bottom of the truck. The Range Rover was towed to the dealer. It was assessed tha the thermostat was the problem. This service was completed 2/10/03. Incident #2 February 15, 2003 at about 2pm my husband was driving the Range Rover to work. While driving he noticed the Range Rover started to act funny. At which time he notified me to see if it was the same thing that occurred when the truck broke down the first time as he was pulling over, the Range Rover shut down completely. On Wednesday, February 19 the Range Rover was towed to the dealer. The next day, the dealership called for our permission to take the engine apart so that the warranty adjuster for apco, trent, could assess the damage. Trent made his assessment and then came to the conclusion that the damage was our fault. It was said that my husband didn?t pull over fast enough. They said they would not pay the cost for the entire engine, but will offer a contribution, which the dealership does not do. Sincerely, steve and donna jones 4150 windmill circle randallstown, maryland 21133 (410) 496-4896.
