The Lexus Es 350, was turning left onto side street within a sub division, and ran up the curb and hit a tree with the right front side of the vehicle. Significant damage done to the car, and so much damaged that the car has been totaled by insurance company. Driver unsure if vehicle accelerated on its own or just lost control. The greater issue or concern was not what caused the accident, but that the air bags did not deploy after the impact and the driver broke their nose and has been treated 3 times in er since crash. In speaking with repair shop, they informed me that there are 2 air bag sensors at the front of the car, and both are near the headlights. He was surprised that given the damage and impact of the collision (to right front of car by headlight, pictures attached), that the air bags did not deploy.

Tl- the contact owns a 2019 Lexus Es. The contact stated that pulling into a parking spot when they attempted to press the brake pedal to stop the vehicle the brake pedal floored causing the vehicle to coast forward into the side of the building. Once, the contact stated that the vehicle continued to coast forward despite pumping the brakes. The contact placed the vehicle in reverse to get the vehicle from out the side of the building. Once in reverse and off the side of the building, the contact quickly shift the vehicle's gear into the park position and turned it off. The airbags did not deploy. The contact received bruises on their chest area, however, no medical attention was needed. The passengers were not injured. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed and brought to the dealer (caliber collision located at 6634 indiana Ave, riverside, CA 92506 phone number 951-683-6734) who diagnosed that parking brake assist failed and the front end was severly damaged and that both needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact stated they were made aware the failure related to NHTSA campaign number 19v544000 (electronic stability control, service brakes) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened case number 1909270613. The approximate failure mileage was 3,636. Gl.

Takata recall or takata issues - I was involved in an accident in my 2012 Lexus Es 350. I was hit from behind by another vehicle (2005 Jeep liberty) at about 45mph and my front airbags did not deploy. I read the owners manual which indicated that if hit from behind the front airbags do not deploy with the exception of front collisions. This is extremely dangerous and unsafe for all consumers because the force of the accident while the vehicle was in motion on a city street caused me and my husband as the passengers bodily harm. My head hit the steering wheel and his head hit the dashboard - concussions and lost consciousness. Had we been hit any harder it could have resulted in death. Also, had the Lexus been designed to deploy the front airbags deployed when hit from behind at a certain speed, it would have prevented us from hitting our heads on such hard surfaces. I am outrage and disappointed that such a luxury car could not keep us safe. Because of this experience I am hesitant about purchasing another Lexus or recommending that anyone else I know purchase a Lexus.

Takata recall, my wife was involved in a frontal collision at @35mph in which her airbags did not deploy. I am concerned that since the sensors were knocked off during the impact, what could have happened to prevent the airboys from deploying? she was traveling at 35 mph into an intersection when she ran a red light and t-boned another vehicle. Fortunately the vehicle she hit was a Jeep wrangler with a steel side bumper on all sides. So there way minimal damage to the Jeep.

Head on crash at 35-40 mph. On frisco, TX city street. Frontal airbags did not deploy. No airbags deployed.
On Nov. 6, 2007 I was the last vehicle in a four car pile-up. The Honda in front of me was totaled and my 2005 Lexus Es330 had over $10,000 in damage. My concern is that the air bags did not deploy. With such significant damage I was sure they would have protected me but they did not. I am concerned there may be a problem and I will not be protected in the future.
The contact owns a 2005 Lexus Es330. The contact's wife blacked out while driving and crashed into another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy and his wife was injured. The vehicle was destroyed and a police report was filed. An investigation was performed by Lexus and he received a letter stating that they do not have to provide him with any of the crash information. The vehicle went 70 feet across five traffic lanes and landed perpendicularly to a pole. The current and failure mileages were 18,000. Updated 12-12-07.
