I called Lexus of rockville center li NY today regarding "urgent safety recall" notice I received. Sadly Lexus dealer told me that the parts are on backorder until end of March. . . Can't even make appointment to have Lexus fix the problem "takata front passenger airbag inflators" for an urgent safety recall - I have had no vehicle problems yet. . .

Takata inflators we have not had any problems to date with this issue. We use this car for family transportation and based on the summary and risk statements for NHTSA recall number 17v006 are reluctant to allow anyone to sit in the front passenger seat. We understand that the relatively recent issue of Jan 09, 2017 may not allow a remedy to be executed yet. However, can you help expedite this resolution or at least provide some idea of how long it may take to fix it. It is a terrible inconvenience to one of our most basic modes of transportation. Thank you.

Takata recall,tamara inflators. On June 9, the notice came told not use the front passenger seat. It is now Jan. 23, 2017 and the dealer continues to put off the replacement of the unsafe parts. This is unreasonable as we are unable to use the car I transporting grandchildren and even go out to dinner with friends. Why?.

Takata recall. My father was told about an inflator recall on his passenger side airbag last year (may 2016). He was told to continue driving the car but it was recommended that no one ride in the passenger seat. My father is 90 years old and still carries a valid driver's license. My mother is 84. Putting her in the backseat of the car for a few months would be inconvenient but doable. Putting her in the backseat for over a year is unacceptable (not to mention she refuses to be chauffeured around the city by my father). I work for american Honda motor CO. And it is our policy to get people out of their cars until such time as they can be fixed. I am concerned that Lexus does not have this same policy. If that airbag deploys during a collision, I have no doubt it will kill my mother. I think it only appropriate that my parents be provided a rental at Lexus' expense until the inflator can be replaced (hopefully sometime in 2017).

Takata recall I received a letter dated may 23, 2016 indicating that the front passenger airbag inflator on my 2008 Lexus Es 350 needs to be replaced. I live in zone a, the highest risk area. I have called three times over the past 10 months to my local Lexus dealers, and their response has been "we have received only a few parts so far. " "you will be notified when there are more parts in. " my wife and I have just this one car, and having one of us sitting in the back seat each time we drive the car for the last 10 months has been very difficult. We are both seniors. Is there anything you can do to have one of the local dealers in san diego county replace the airbag very soon. Thanks for your help on this.

Takata recall as of today, 1/8/17, the recall status from Lexus is still "recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available" according to the NHTSA-takata airbag inflator expansion phases/zones, I am in zone a. Given the date of my car, I would say any degradation expected has occurred and leaves me in danger daily. In the meantime, I am riding almost daily in the passenger seat where the airbag could could cause me serious damage or death. How long does the NHTSA allow manufacturers to go without remedies? what recourse do I have, other than me riding in the back seat when my husband drives? surely they are not still manufacturing cars with the same defaults, so why can't they replace mine with one that they currently use in their vehicles?.

Takata recall: we received notice of safety recall letter dated June 9, 2016, from Lexus stating there is defect relating to our 2007 Es350 involving front passenger airbag inflators produced by takata. After months of no action by Lexus, we followed up with Lexus on September 27, 2016, and they stated parts were not available. We are in great need of our vehicle and are concerned with our safety in that we are located in zone a which puts us at great risk.
