I've had my car for 3 years now and it randomly decided to throw a srs airbag malfunction warning that will not go away. I know most of the last gen Es350 had airbag recalls but the 2019 model year really didn't and I think its something similar. The car runs fine but the fact that my airbags wont deploy because of this warning makes it very unsafe.

Lexus of sarasota FL confirmed a faulty brake actuators causing brake , skid control and abs light to come on which created an immediate and extremely dangerous driving situation as I was on an interstate highway driving at 70 mph. It’s been confirmed that multiply Lexus models and years have had numerous brake actuator . Multiple failures have been documented yet only a few were given recall status!!this is outrageous and an immediate review of this oversight needs to be addressed.

I was driving and my car has a certain jerking motion to it, as I tried to break and accelerate the car wasn’t able to stop or move properly. As a result I rear ended the car in front of me. In addition to that my airbag wouldn’t go off after the accident so it seems like there was a malfunction. Lexus always assured me that all system ran well and that there was nothing wrong with the car. I made all necessary repairs they told me to make a despite my questions about the car being fully functional, they still didn’t warn me and told me that my car was fine every time I took it in or got work done on my car.

Still no parts for fix.
On 7/25/25, I was rear-ended while driving my 2018 Lexus Es 300h with my child in the front seat. Despite the force of impact and resulting injuries, none of the airbags deployed. Moments after the crash, a “srs airbag system malfunction” message appeared on my dashboard. That message is now gone, but airbag and seatbelt lights remain active. I suffered knee injuries from contact with the dashboard, and my child sustained a busted lip and head pain. I’m concerned that a malfunction in the airbag or supplemental restraint system contributed to these injuries. I have video evidence of the incident and in-cabin alerts. I was later advised by Toyota not to drive the vehicle until an inspection is completed, which raises additional concerns about the vehicle’s safety system. I’m reporting this because I believe this malfunction may pose a risk to others, and it should be investigated as a potential defect.

This safety recall was identified 12/20/23. Passenger airbag may not deploy seems pretty serious to me. Should it really take 9 months to remedy a defect like this? sure doesn't feel like the manufacturer is remedying this safety recall in a timely manner.
1. I was involved in a car accident on Aug 28, 2024 when I was about to go around a curve in the road. A vehicle coming at breakneck speed and well over the posted speed limit, lost control, went over the double yellow lines and crashed into the left driver side of my Lexus. I was the driver and my left knee got crushed against the dashboard. None of my airbags, including my knee airbag deployed. My car was totaled but it is still available for inspection and held at the insurance company. The other driver was test driving a mercedes and all their aibags deployed. 2. I suffered a communited patella fracture where my knee cap got fractured into several pieces, was taken by ambulance and had to have surgery the next day. The driver and the passenger in the other car were unscathed. 3. No. Until about two weeks ago I was under the impression that my 2015 Lexus was too old to include knee airbags. We recently found out that my car did indeed have knee airbags which did not deploy. For that matter none of the airbags deployed. 4. •my car was towed initially to the police tow lot and then to a car repair place. The car repair place along with a representative from our insurance company together decided that my car is damaged beyond repair. I have filed a complained with Lexus brand engagement center and they have said that they will proceed with sending an inspector out to check the car as to why my airbags did not deploy causing me such a grievous knee injury 5. •there had been no warning lights of any kind. The police report shows that the airbag switch was on.
