2000 to 2006 Lincoln Ls all have misfire problems , coming from faulty valve cover gaskets, 2000 to 2006 Ford t-birds have same problem, only thing is the Lincoln didn't made the recall list . Same engine though, seems that the valve cover gasket leaks oil into spark plug wells causing short and misfire.

2 Engine Head Gasket Leaking problem of the 2001 Lincoln LS

Failure Date: 05/27/2001

During my 2nd oil/filter change, the mechanic decovered oil on the compressor. I took the car in on tues 05/29/01. I was told that the right head gasket was leaking and that Lincoln would have to replace w/ new engine, because that was the policy of Lincoln. When I picked my car up on 06/13/01, much to my surprise the ticket indicated a "remanufactured" engine. I'm wondering how many miles, etc this engine has on it???.
