The brake pedal had a long travel before brakes would apply. I was not able to operate my vehicle without concern for myself and others since brakes did not react quickly. It required a flush of the brake fluid and replacement of the abs brake module. I believe this type of incident was part of a recall on the 2010 Lincoln Mkz. I never received any notice of a recall from Ford and had to pay to replace these defective parts.

Brakes worked perfectly until I had to stop suddenly. Brake pedal went almost to the floor before brakes engaged, and then only slightly. I made it home with them in that same condition. When I took it to the shop, the brakes worked perfectly again. At no time was any code shown. So far the shop can't get the brakes to do it again, but I can't trust the car I paid for. The NHTSA had a recall for the Lincoln Mkz up to 2010, but my 2011 has the same abs module issue. Please expand the recall before someone else gets injured or killed.

Front left brake hose had an immediate large leak during driving causing vehicle to lose all braking during driving. There was no warning prior to this or during the failure, no lights on dashboard, brake pedal went all the way to the floor. Placed flashers on, and rolled to a stop. Vehicle needed to be towed. Vehicle is on the way (today August 11) to apple Ford in shakopee, mn to be fixed on August 16th.
Front left brake line split open and lost brake fluid. This was not caused by any damage from outside items . . . There was a failure of the tubing right near the end crimp.
While driving, my passenger front brake line bursted. This is not normal and should not have happened. I had my kids in the car. I was able to coast into a parking lot to get off the road. There was no road hazards either at the time of the incident. There is no know cause to me as to why this happened. There is a known recall for this happening but not tied to my specific VIN.
Driving down the road all of a sudden accutrac warning came up and then check brake system. The brakes were like a sponge and stopping was very difficult and required using emergency brake. Shut car off for a few minutes and then problem went away. Then it did it again. This is the same exact issue a recall was issued for the 2006-2010 model of Lincoln Mkz hybrid. Mine is a 2011 but built in the same plant. This car now has an unrepaired air bag from another recall that they still cannot fix and now no brakes and can't be driven. I feel this model should be included in the other model years recall.

Driver side brake line ruptured for the second time. Almost got into an accident. Had to run off the road to keep from hitting another vehicle. This is a very serious situation. Needs to be a recall on this brake line. I see other Mkz owners having same issue.
The brake light switch assembly failed. The car's brake light will not go off. Other drivers do not know if you are braking. The dealer can not fix it until next week, meanwhile, it is dangerous to drive. This brake switch assembly is under recall for 2014 Mkz and 2015 Mkz. It looks to be the same assembly on the 2016 Mkz. There was no warning. The brake lights come on while parked in the driveway and won't go off.
2105 Lincoln Mkz. Consumer writes regarding brake pedal stop bumper safety recall.
While driving, the right front brake hose ruptured, releasing a large amount of brake fluid, dropping the brake pedal to the floor and causing a sudden loss of braking power. I have the faulty hose in my possession. I was not able to brake while driving out of the mountains in tennessee. My wife and I consider ourselves lucky to be alive. Had it happened minutes earlier, we would not be here to tell you about it or to show you the faulty part. The faulty hose was inspected and replaced by an auto mechanic. I advised our local Lincoln dealer/service and I also spoke to the Lincoln concierge service about what should be considered an ongoing safety hazard. I am hoping to show it to you and anyone else that may be familiar with an identical issue regarding the Ford edge/mkx version of the same brake hoses. There was no warning at all prior to the sudden loss of brakes.
