I was involved in a front end collision, sitting at a stop light and hit head on by a car that was struck by another car failing to yield the right of way. Cruising northbound on rt. 3 just beyond exit 5. The traffic was heavy. Suddenly, with zero warning signs from the state highway maintenance crews, I entered a pot hole. Roughly 30-35 feet in length, 15 + feet in width and a variance in depth of 6"-12" I rode the pothole out and upon exiting the pothole to normal highway grade my vehicle lost control due to the 'bump' of the inconsistency from normal grade to a pothole in severe negligent disrepair. I slid for approx. 50-60 yards,speed remained between 60-65 mph. I struck a snowbank 12ft in height and the brunt of the first impact on my neck as my airbag did not deploy. I have spoken to the Mazda corporation, asked if they intended to investigate why the airbag did not deploy. They said, I have this conversation. . . Both of them on record, it was not Mazda's responsibility to send a field agent to investigate why it did not deploy. The customer service rep. Was very quick to insist that it is my insurance company's job. I feel it was defective. Mainly I am bothered at the fact that Mazda has claimed, (on the record ) that they will not be sending a field agent to investigate a possible defect. I feel it is absolutely irresponsible on their part. It is something that most certainly must be looked into as I feel 100% that my injuries would have been much less had the air bag deployed upon the initial 60-65mph impact. There is exposed styrofoam from my front bumper and my fog lights are all nilly willy and hanging off the car along with 50% of the front fender. I can say that it is immensely negligent on Mazda's part to deny an investigation. They told me that is my insurance company's job, however, it's not because they did not manufacture the defective product, Mazda did. I am suffering a concussion and cervical musculoskeltal system damage, and truly feel my injuries would be lessened had the airbag deployed.

On February 15, 2015. I was involved in a minor car accident with my girlfriend. My left rear door was hit but the air bags did not deployed. Hi, I have two issues due to: electrical problem: airbag warning light may come on due to damaged pretensioner sensor wiring breakage from adjusting the seat. (2005) . This was on Saturday October 30, 2010 the airbag may not deploy when the vehicle is involved in a crash. Check-engine light: the check engine light illuminate, issues due to a valve in the intake system jamming. The dealer Mazda in ponce, puerto rico, check this issues, this is the part # lf82-18-740 valve,sole & lf70-15-170 they said to repair those parts. My car is out of warranty. Thank you.

When driving water entered a sensor, which caused a short circuit and illuminated the air bag warning light. The airbag will not deploy when in certain types of frontal crashes which increases the risk of death or serious injury to the driver and front seat passenger.

I am very concerned about the safety of the car that I have had since 2004 Mazda 3. On Sunday, I was hit by a car at about a 20 to 30 degree angle and the impact hit my passenger door. Neither one of us was going at a speed that should have had a result in the damage that occurred. When he hit us and the car came to rest, the police and towing people discovered that the engine had snapped off its mounting. My airbags did not deploy either. He told me that both he and the towing agent had ever seen this happen before to a car with as little damage to it. I went to the tow place where they were holding my car to take pictures and look at the car, and both of the people (different people than the original tow driver) said they had never seen anything like that. The one guy said only twice has he seen that happen and both had major damage to the car and that they were demolished up to half of the car. He also said the mounting piece of hardware looked like it was made of diecast not metal or aluminum, when we inspected it we noticed the part that was snapped and I must admit it looked like plastic. I had to have the struts replaced in 2008, but yet I had never hit the tires hard on anything. My question is this something that should be investigated and could it be dangerous to other drivers of this year. I know that they have made engines that are designed to drop in accident recently, but not for this year and not for that type of accident. I have written to Mazda requesting an investigation and I await their response.
