Takata recall - vehicle was parked/stationary. The dashboard is breaking apart where the passenger side air bag is. See attached picture. This vehicle has never been in an accident and I have been the only owner of the vehicle. I will be calling the dealership to get this repaired since this is a huge safety issue for the occupants (my family) of the vehicle.

My wife and I bought a brand new Mazda 3 I-touring edition in 2013. On approximately 10/10/2014 she picked up our 10 year old boy and when he tried to buckle the seatbelt it did not work. After several attempts my wife then got in the passengers side to see if she could get it buckled. She could not. At this point she also noticed the passenger side airbag had disengaged, even with her in the front seat. Being well over the minimum weight to activate we knew this was not the problem with the airbag. Upon researching the internet it has come to my attention that there are many cases of others with the same problem. All of which were turned down by Mazda for any kind of remedy. I spoke with jeff, a service advisor for nelson Mazda in tulsa, ok, and when asked if there was anything they could do with out charging me because of the severity of the safety issues this problem causes he basically just said no. I did buy the car at another dealer but live too far away to set up anything with them. I thought maybe one Mazda dealer would stand up for another just to make a good showing for the Mazda name. I guess I was wrong.

Mazda oem 11-13 3 seat track-occupant sensor right bcn167sw0a is faulty . There are thousands of cases of this ! the price of this items is 350. 00 ! there should be a class action lawsuit or a recall ! this causes the passenger side airbags to be disabled . If you want it to work 350. 00 ! less then 3 years of owning this car.
Turning left on a t junction when some one ran a red light and crashed into my driverside front and rear doors. The hit was hard enough to pin the steering wheel with the smashed in door, but the side airbags did not go off. No corrective action was taken as the vehicle was titled as a total loss.

Driver side curtain airbag deployment while driving aprox 55miles/hr on the freeway. No collision. After inspection, manufacturer said it was insurance issue not theirs. Conducted my own investigation and hired specialists, results were that edr (event data recovery system) downloaded codes for short circuit to the driver side curtain. Case is in court. Car has less then 25000 miles on it.

The front passenger seat weight sensors are programmed to inactivate the front and side passenger air bags and the front passenger seat belt pretensioner if the front passenger weighs between 66 and 93 lbs. My wife weighs about 83 lbs. According to Mazda, this is not a defect, but a federal government requirement. I can understand the side air bag inactivation, but not the front air bag inactivation (you can push the seat far back) and certainly not the seat belt pretensioner inactivation. This rule is wrong and puts lives at risk. If you google "Mazda front air bag inactivation", you will see that lots of Mazda owners have the same complaint, and it extends to owners of other makes. The air bag inactivation light continues to go on and off as my wife moves in her seat, and has done this since the car was new. We have a 2006 Mazda3 with exactly the same problem.
Car hit on driver's side by car traveling at approx 30 mph with no deployment of side air bags.
I am writing in regards to my Mazda3 that I have taken to your certified Mazda repair center 5 (five) times with no success of repair. The failure of a successful repair substantially impairs the safety and value of my vehicle. I would like to get this situation resolved at once so that I can go on with my life without the worry of paying for a lemon car and stop having to drive around in a rental car that is less fuel efficient and less comfortable than my car. There are three major reasons I requested service for my car:
1. The service engine light has been coming on randomly. 2. On one occasion the vehicle has stalled on an oncoming ramp of rt. 202 traveling at approximately 35 miles per hour. I could hardly pull the car over because the steering wheel was too heavy to operate. Fortunately there was no traffic accident. 3. Another major reason for my safety worries is that the side airbag off light started to come on constantly. After an expert visit, I was told that I will be getting a new car. 2 weeks after that the paperwork processes was completed a new car was ready for me to pick up, so I went to the dealership to pick up my car only to find out that I had to pay $2,300 in order to take the new car. Then the next day I was told by you on the phone that the deal was cancelled by Mazda because I didn't want to pay for this unfair resolution. Then the owner of the dealership personally explained to me that they needed to purchase my car, sell it to another consumer and then sell me a new car. There are two things unethical about this:
1. You cannot sell a car with safety defects to another consumer. 2. You cannot leave me with no option but to trade in my car and purchase a new car when this car is a lemon. Based on the pennsylvania attorney general description my car is a lemon car. I feel that I have done all that is humanly possible in this matter and have yet to see any results.

2007 Mazda3 was involved in a crash that totaled the vehicle. Impact was on the driver front wheel and only air bag deployed was the driver airbag. The car was equipped with side air bags and side air curtains and they did not deploy.
I own a 2004 Mazda 3s, VIN # jm1bk323041188532. Previously, in the end of December 2005 I was hot from behind in cambridge. Ma. And incurred about 700 worth of damage. My care was repaired and I picked it up on Friday January 6th, 2006. Unfortunately, I was involved in a hit and run on Friday January 13th, 2006. Exactly a week from the day I picked up my car from the auto body shop. Anyway, I was traveling at a speed of 50 miles per hour when hit from behind, which put me in a spin of about 6 360 degrees. Then, I hit the concrete barrier with the front of my car and then bounced off and did another 5 360degree turns and then the back of my car hit the concrete barrier. Unfortunately, none of my air bags were deployed, however, I did have my seat belt on and have a sore neck and head. I am feeling better, but am concerned with the fact that the air bags did not deploy in this situation. There was a recall with the front air bag sensor for my model, but apparently, my car was manufactured on 05-13-04. The manufacturing dates the recall affected were from 6-24-03 - 3-22-04. My insurance company is not being cooperative when it comes to the air bags. They are not sure if they should of deployed, but are saying that they may not have. The speed I was traveling at and the level of impact leads me to say with a high degree of confidence that the air bags, side and front should have deployed upon the impact. Please help me, as I the manufacturer is extremely unwilling to help me or provide any specification or crash test results, etc. Best regards,
michael j. Gregor

The passenger's side air bag failed to deploy in the 2004 Mazda 3 upon impact. ** answer required*** the passenger sustained an eye injury. The vehicle was a total loss. A few months after the vehicle was purchased the consumer received a recall for the crash zone sensor. Jan 2005 the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the sensor was replaced. Since the accident the consumer is skeptical as to whether the recall repairs performed.
