The airbag light keeps coming on flickering periodically as I'm driving. I'm very concerned about this airbag if it's going to deploy while I'm driving or if it's going to even deploy if I do get into an accident and if it's going to work or am I going to be killed if it doesn't deploy I'm very concern it's is safety issue.

I start the car and remain parked. The airbag light flashes once, pauses, and then flashes six times. The airbag light in the instrument cluster continues to flash once followed by six more flashes. This problem continues every time the car is driven. Many owners have had the same problem. No airbag has been deployed and car has not been in an accident.

The vehicle was parked for 2 days then when the vehicle was started the airbag light went through it's normal procedure. After a brief pause, the airbag light flashed once then paused and then flashed six times. Then, the passenger airbag indicator on the dash came on and remained on, indicating the passenger airbag was disabled. The airbag light on the dash in front of the driver continues to flash once followed by six more flashes. This problem continues every time the car is driven. Many owners have had the same problem. Suzuki recalled this similar problem years ago.
My airbag light on the dashboard keeps turning on and off. Seems to depend on the weather, ie, rain and high humidity.

I purchased a used 2011 Mazda 3 in March 2019. I didn't notice it at the time but the air bag light was flashing a code 16 on the dash. I took it to my local dealership and had to pay $100 diagnostic fee. They told me it was the passenger seat weight sensor and the two parts would need to be replaced. The cost was around $800. I understand that components on a car may go bad over time but should something as important as an air bag sensor go bad in less than 9 years? and if it does, should I have to pay $800 for my safety when it should be the company that covers that. I've read that this is a common problem and there are no recalls. If I am in an accident and I have a passenger in the front seat, their airbag will not go off and that person could be seriously hurt or killed.
Takata recall my passenger airbag light came on a few months ago. It has stayed on.

Airbag light has come one and stays on. There are numerous complaints and discussion of this issue.
Air bag light keeps flashing 3 times every 10 seconds. I have no idea why. But the Mazda website says there are no recalls?.

Air bag light stays on for no reason.
Takata airbag recall-I believe the 2012 Mazda 3 should be part of the recall. My airbag light flashes. It was diagnosed as driver side open. This is a major safety concern. My vehicle has never been in a an accident, but the computer says my airbag had been deployed when it has not.

The passenger side airbag light comes on when no one is in seat, many picture and gave to dealer and now the passenger airbag light is on when someone sits in the seat, this has happened several times ,many pictures and videos sent to dealer. This has be going on since Jan 2017 to present. All this happens just after the car is started and airbag system does self test.
"takata recall" the red airbag light near the mileage has been blinking for two months now. The Mazda dealer mechanics checked the wiring and said they don't know what is causing it to do that. Its starts blinking as soon as I turn my car on. The other airbag light near the dashboard with the clock display is still on as usual, not blinking.
I was driving on the freeway at approximately 65 mph when all of the sudden I noticed my airbag light began blinking while in motion. I did not brake excessively and I did not hit anything or swerve. It jist randomly lit up out of the blue. Then I noticed my passenger airbag sign was off. I called the Mazda dealer and they quoted me $160 jist to diagnose the light. I told them I got a postcard about an airbag recall and they insisted my car was not covered in that recall. It should be.

Like the Mazda 6 for 2008, my son's Mazda 3 2006 had the same problem with the air bag light not turning off. A Mazda dealer told him it would cost $400 to fix and the were no guarantees it would be fixed. He had it fixed by a certified mechanic who offered a guarantee. I paid for it and I think it should be recalled like the Mazda 6, as it it a matter of serious safety.
The contact owns a 2012 Mazda 3. While driving various speeds, the air bag indicator illuminated intermittently. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

After 90k miles, the airbag light came on. I took the car into the dealership, the diagnostic required me to replace the sas module. I would need to re-calibrate the airbag sensors, if this was unsuccessful then I would need to spend another $2400 replacing the airbag sensors. The car has been in no accidents and no fender benders, seems like a manufacture defect.
The drivers seat will sometimes come out of its track, and not lock in securely. When the seat is locked, it seems to be ok, but if I should move the seat forward to accommodate for a rear passenger its like the seat will not sit squarely in the track, and it will either sink, or elevate at one corner and slide forwards or backwards. Its dangerous if I were to hit my brakes, the seat would move forward inadvertently causing me to slam on my brakes. Also, there appears to be an air bag indicator light that will flash on my dashboard. This seems occur at random times, the red light will flash indicating some sort of error with the airbag. I'm not sure if its a loose connection, or an actual problem with the air bag. When I alerted the dealer they told me I was out of warranty, and they would not do anything for either of these issues. I mentioned that these were most likely safety issues, not like I wanted free tires or a new water pump or battery or something. Just address what could be a hazardous condition with my vehicle.
Air bag light inside instrument cluster won't come off.
This is an update to the previous complaint as the same issue, the airbag light being on, has already been recalled in certain VIN#s and apparently needs expanding. Please reference Mazda recall #2504k or NHTSA recall # 04v559. My airbag light has come on and stays on for no apparent reason. It stays on when parked or driving, it is on at all times the vehicle is on and is not associated with any event.

1) after moving the empty passenger seat back a few inches at a red light, passenger airbag deactivation light illuminated on dash and has remained on ever since. At the same time, the airbag light on the instrument cluster began flashing a code 16. There are no visible loose wires or connections under the seat. 2) condensation appearing in driver's side headlight assembly.
Main airbag light on dashboard comes on. When turning a corner.
Air bag light came on, diagnostic showed that the air bag is faulted.
Starting about a month after we bought the car we noticed that the indicator light for the passenger side air bag would sometimes light up indicating that the passenger side airbag was deactivated. We stop the car and exited the vehicle and reentered the vehicle and the light started to work properly. Over the next several days we noticed that the issue was happening more often. We took the car to brown¿s Mazda in alexandria. After checking the car out they said there was nothing wrong with the car. On Tuesday September 2, 2014 about 10 days after having the car serviced my wife and I was driving on a level city street around 5:48 pm, at that time the indicator light was off, which would indicate that the airbag and active restraints are on and that the car recognizes that there is an adult in the passenger side seat. A car pulled out from a side street in to traffic causing us to hard brake in order to avoid the accident. My wife that was in the passenger seat was thrown forward as if she did not even have a seat belt on, the active seat restraint did not tighten at all. The passenger side airbag light that was off was now on indicating that the airbag and restraint system was off. She was shaken but thankfully not harmed. Again we took it to the dealership and they have said that there is nothing they can do to fix it¿s just part of the design and that people my wife size should not use the car. I am very concerned about driving the car, because there is no way to predict when the airbag will decide to deactivate leaving the passenger at risk of injury if there were a crash or rollover.

Red air bag light on.

Air bag indicator light remains on ,on the dashboard, making one beleive that there is a problem with the system. There was a similar problem with this in florida cars. . . It now seems to be a more wide spread problem in all areas of the country.
2008 Mazda 3 was struck while parked. Months later air bag light came on and repeatedly went to the local Mazda dealership about the issue. Last encounter with dealership(oct 2014), they checked the air bag and concluded it was not a recall issue, and stated the problem stems from auto accident. Complained to my insurance CO and re-opened claim. The insurance company(Nov 2014) concluded from where the car was impacted on the rear passenger side, the air bag is not their issue and did not stem from cause of impact. Air bag module needs to be investigated and addressed with Mazda CO. With all these developments with faulty air bags made by takata(company whom make airbags), something is totally wrong. This is a safety issue, that needs to be taken care of.
There is an issue with the rear brake light assembly, the red plastic assembly melted into the break light bulbs causing both rear brake lights to burn out. Currently, both assembly have holes where the red plastic melted, this is a potential fire hazard. There is an issue with the front passenger side engine mount, it has been replaced three times and continues to fail, might an engineering defect on the engine mount. Finally, dashboard airbag indicator has turned on unexpectedly and has remained on ever since, might be defective part in the srs airbag system.
Passenger airbag light will go on and off with nobody in the seat. This happens randomly and not consistently. Sometimes while stationary, sometimes while driving. The dashboard has come apart from the center piece on the dash with the digital display. Car was purchased in texas in 2013, drove to maine in 2015 and driven to virginia since 2018. Progressively gotten worse rear view mirror has strange brown marks inside the mirror making it difficult to see. Owner does not smoke. Strange clunky noise from rear suspension, not consistent very random. Smooth road, bumpy road, fast or slow, the sound just randomly happens from time to time. Headlights form moisture, owner bought new headlights with mechanic install and they started to collect moisture about a year after installation. Owner of vehicle since 2013 to present. Vehicle purchased at approx 60k miles, currently approx 130k miles.
Air bag light has gone off and on since oct 2012. Now it stays on all the time.
