The seat lifter on the driver's side seat frame broke, the metal has a clear stress fracture right near the bracket where the frame connects to the rail. This is the same part that was recalled in the 2010 and 2011 models by Mazda in 2017. Nhtsa campaign no. 17v-082 it causes the driver side seat to change positions while driving creating hazardous conditions and does not appear structurally stable if involved in an accident potentially putting the driver's life at risk.

This vehicle is subject to recall #: 17v-082 referring to a drivers seat lifter link than can break. My car has a broken lifter link, was brought to the dealership and instead of replacing the entire seat adjuster unit like the recall states, they simply installed a reinforcement bracket. When brought back to med center Mazda they state it has already been repaired and therefore cannot be repaired again. The vehicle still has a broken seat lifter link.

Monday 7/10/2023 car was fine ie (the seat) next day tues 7/11/2023 opened drivers side door couldn’t believe my eyes. The driver seat had somehow migrated clear up to an inch from my chest to the steering wheel. I called maple shade turnersville to make an appointment-wasn’t able to get in until 7/20/2023. I was told I had to return on 7/24/2023. Did that. Appt was 7:30am. Was given a loaner car. At around 10:30 am Mazda tuenersville called to ask me to return the loaner (?). When I arrived pat kearny told me he couldn’t do anything to help with the car seat. Told me my car was too old that they didn’t make parts for my 2010 Mazda 3 for the already recalled seat problems. Now I’m in a big bind. My steering wheel is one inch from my chest. I am very upset what happened here.
The contact owns a 2010 Mazda Mazda3. The contact stated upon opening the driver's side door, she noticed that the front driver's side seat had independently moved closer to the steering wheel. The contact stated that the seat failed to move back to the original position after several attempts. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to squeeze herself into the seat and drove to the dealer, who informed the contact that the driver's side seat bolts needed to be broken to move the seat. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 17v082000 (seats); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.
The seat track on the drivers seat has come apart, so now the drivers seat rocks back and forth with every acceleration and brake, and feels like it's about to come off entirely. There was no incident that seemed to cause this, just one day I got in the car and the seat was loose. I took it to the dealership and they confirmed the seat track is coming apart, but there is no recall out for this VIN so I would have to pay $2400 to replace this defective part.
Driver seat support links are broken and seat rocks back and forth, same as recall for 2010-2011 models.
Nothing has happened yet but ive done a bunch of research and a lot of the 3rd generation Mazda 3's all have the same airbag code 16 flashing on their dash and it's not on any recall list.

Defective driver's seat construction made by Mazda mfg corp. I was the first person to report this cheaply made driver's seat failure to Mazda corp in irvine, CA in early 2015 or 2016. Recall was finally issued a year afterwards because Mazda dragged their feet, and only after I threatened to sue them if I was ever in an accident, and the seat was to totally fall apart, and maim me for life did they finally take action. The recall fix (cheap bandaid clamp that again failed because seat frame welds had failed as well) was never done right, and as a result the seat totally fell apart, and ed howard Lincoln Mazda of sarasota, FL didn't want to do anything further at that point (cost out of pocket wise). I was told by a different Mazda dealership in ft myers, FL that that defective seat should have been totally replaced if they would've handled it correctly. So ed howard Lincoln Mazda really screwed me on that one! as related to the 2. 5l Mazda engine, I also had/have a engine failure part there as well. It's called the engine coolant (water) outlet flange, and the bottom left hand bolt (1 of 4 bolts total) that's suppose to hold this cheap plastic part in place was stripped (over-torqued) at the production assembly line time that the engine was made (put together). Now the cheap plastic replacement part is leaking again from the same lower left hand corner, and this is a well known Ford & Mazda 2. 5l engine failure design as stated in many a Mazda online forum! this also should have been recalled, as now my 2011 Mazda 3 is down again. Engine overheated again on oct 13, 2023. Prior repair to replace this defective flange was done in Feb or Mar of 2022. Cheap plastic parts put on a metal engine just don't work well at all. Common physics would tell you that! I have documents in my storage unit if you need them.

My seat lifter broke causing the driver's seat to rock back and forth. I brought my vehicle to my local dealer on 05/18/2022 to have an outstanding NHTSA recall 17v-082 performed to repair the issue. I was informed that the necessary part to repair the seat was on backorder and there was no eta, but that I would be contacted when a part was available. Over the following nine months, I periodically followed up to see if they had received the part, culminating with being told by the dealer on 03/02/2023 that the part order was canceled and flagged as no longer available and that I needed to contact Mazda directly. I then called Mazda, who told me that the part was indeed marked as retired and advised that I seek an aftermarket replacement, of which none is available. They did check in my local area and found only one remaining part in a dealer's inventory, which I'll be driving to on 03/11/2023 to have the repair done. There has been no consideration made by Mazda for my safety while driving the vehicle, and for anyone still requiring this repair, the part is "retired" and no longer available from Mazda for an open recall.
When adjusting the driver seat, the vehicle began to display "air bag system malfunction. Have the vehicle inspected. " this was with roughly 20 total miles on the odometer. It is a new car - Mazda3 turbo sedan 2022. After researching online, this is a very common problem with new Mazda3s and there are many customers with the exact same issue. The customers have also made complaints to the NHTSA. Mazda has a technical service bulletin for this problem (bulletin no:08-001/22) and states the issue is due to "driver-side air bag module circuit: open circuit or resistance high". This issue also occurs on the passenger-side air bag. It is a possibility that I could have been in an accident and the side airbag would not function. Or even perhaps the air bag may have had an electrical error and engaged itself while I could have been driving. My local dealership has verified the issue, however, they still have not been able to correct the issue after 8 weeks. So I have had to use a loaner for 7 weeks now. In summary, I'm filing a complaint because 1)this issue is so common 2)it pertains to something crucially important to safety 3)this is occurring almost immediately after purchase 4)Mazda does not seem to be able to readily and quickly fix the issue.

Driver seat has become loose and rocks forward in an up and down fashion while driving. Can be rock by hand as well when not sitting in the seat. A prior recall addressed this issue with 2010-2011 Mazda 3's. This is a 2012 that is having the same problem, but the recall does not apply to it. The recall needs to be expanded to included all vehicles experiencing this issue. Nhtsa campaign number: 17v082 manufacturer Mazda north american operations components seats potential number of units affected 173,859.
The contact owns a 2012mazda motor corp m3s. The contact stated while at a standstill, they heard a pop noise coming from the driver side seat. Which resulted in the seat moving and not maintaining appropriate driving position. The vehicle was not taken into a dealership to be diagnosed. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with, NHTSA campaign number: 17v082000 (seats) however the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not informed of failure. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.
Seat height adjustment lifter link has lost the push nut which retained it to the seat rail. Driver seat, left hand front link.
The seat height adjustment lifter link has broken and my driver seat wobbles tilting up and down during normal operation. There is a recall for this exact issue for this exact model of vehicle 2011 Mazda 3.
Exact same issue as campaign number: 17v082 the seats in this year of Mazda 3 are the same as in the 2010-2011 models. The metal has snapped in half causing the need for repair for safe driving. This happened while turning a corner on a city street going about 30km/h driver is 260lbs.

The driver seat is causing server lower back pain regardless of the position of the seat. I tried all ways I could adjust the seat but the curvature in the seat is pushing against my lower back. I have been easy on the zoom zoom effect but in acceleration and breaking, it just hurts my lower back.
I believe that (recall campaign 0917b) safety recall applies to my 2010 Mazda3 gt, although it took over 2. 5 years to occur (August 2017) the complete fallouts didn't happen until now. . . (December 2020) initially, felt a pop in my back (from the frame?) while I was driving, pulled over and the seats moved fine so didn't think anything of. Meanwhile, a distinct rattling occurred intermittently behind me. Took the car to the local dealership (paid their special service diagnostic fee of ($165+) with master technicians who know about this seat recall, yet, found nothing wrong with the seat or even looked if you ask me, yet wanted me to correct the noise by by installing both front and rear new suspension (~$1000). Took the vehicle to a suspension specialist and found only one (1) part of the suspension that may have required correcting but was still in good condition. I asked if the remaining suspension components were safe and if they would need replacement. And they saidno only one (1), and it was barely damaged, but I replaced it anyway. Took it back for an oil change since they were treating me honestly. Two days later, as I was leaving my work, the seat fell off the right rail as I was driving. In retrospect, the push nuts on the right side popped off and the driver's seat back frame has lost its integrity, so I sat askew. Unable to drive safely unless a piece of wood is holding the seat to the rail. Is it possible to still repair my car's driver's seat under the aforementioned safety recall? I don't feel safe driving and am without options at this time. Please help!!.
Tl the contact owns a 2012 Mazda Mazda3. The contact stated that while seated in the driver's seat, the contact heard an abnormal sound and became aware that the seat was no longer in line with the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to cardinaleway Mazda - peoria (8424 w bell rd, peoria, az 85382; (623) 738-0755) who stated that the seat track and adjuster needed to be repaired. The vehicle had not been repaired due to the parts being on back order. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 183,000.
Driver seat rocks back and forth. There was a recall for 2010-2011 models for this exact issue but 2012 and 2013 are not included in the recall. This is an issue for later models and was even an issue for the 2014-2018 as a separate recall was issued for that generation. 2012 and 2013 need to be recalled for the seats rocking back and forth. This is a safety concern.
My Mazda3 has experienced the same manual seat lifter failure issue as addressed in NHTSA recall 17v-082. I was involved in a rear end collision on September 8, 2020 which caused me to experience whiplash due to the seat becoming loose. The collision center found the seat is missing the push nuts and the lift bracket has broken at the welds which is identical due to safety issues stated in the above recall. Mazda states this is not an issue for this vehicle but I could have been severely injured due to this. My car was going slowly before I was hit from behind which pushed the car forward on a standard city street in a construction zone. I was going less than 5 miles per hour.
Sunday night while driving and making a left-hand turn my driverside seat completely detached from the seats harness thats bolted into the body of the vehicle. As research the problem and found that that exact safety issue had a recall. Ive made multiple unsuccessful attempts at scheduling my car to be serviced by Mazda. They keep telling me that they will call me back. This has yet to happen.
As soon as possible as you can do it so it can be fix and drive right and I you can come and get it and I need a rental car until my is fix.
Everything need's to be repair on it ASAP as you can do it so the car can be fix.
My dashboard above the steering wheel is very hard to clean and has a constant very bad glare that wont go away, and makes it extremely difficult to see through the windshield at times. It's almost as if its melting. It has been like this since I bought it around 2 years ago. My driver seat started shift when I turn corners, last week 6/24/2020 and I'm scared for mine and my babies safety as I am a new mom, also the wellbeing of others on the road. I dont drive it much unless needed, and have been fortunate enough to be able to work from home.
My exact make and model and year was recalled in 2017 for a driver seat problem. My specific vehicle avoided recall because it was manufactured in November 2010, as the recall only included those manufactured up until September 2010. How is it that my vehicle had the same exact problem of those models but was not included? the seat lifter clamp broke-the same exact problem warned about in the recall. I can't afford the $800 repair and this is not even my fault.
The seat is not secure to the frame or something, rocks like a rocking chair.
My driver seat has substantial unwanted movement. I was getting out of the vehicle when I heard a loud crack. The seat now moves 2" back and forth while accelerating and decelerating. This is impairing my ability to properly use the clutch pedal and maintaining speed with the gas pedal.
Motor cylinder #1 low compression took it to Mazda they couldnt figure it out and less than 20 miles after the motor threw a rod at 70,001 miles total. Cylinder 1 walls where not made correctly.
Power seat sliding mechanism on drivers side when actuating the forward and reverse lever is extremely noisy. The noise started at around 45000 miles when the car was 3 years old. I was able to make the repair myself after finding a TSB on NHTSA. Gov. Https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2018/mc-10143977-9999. Pdf. Required part # can found in this TSB. The original part is defective. Dealer will make the repair for $800 plus. You can do it yourself for $25. The actual repair is extremely simple. Also there is no reason to remove the seat bolts as done in the TSB.

My Mazda 3 2010 has about 3 recalls. I have been contacting the local dealership to do the recalls since last year, but due to my schedule, I cannot make it during the weekdays. Now this month, when I looked at the recall letters, I found out I should do the recalls very soon, but I had hard time to get day off during the weekdays, so I was asking the dealership to schedule me for weekends. But they refused. I know this is a free service, but how can they only give us schedule for weekdays and refuse to do the work for weekends. This is about safety. I don't drive this car often, but I still want this to be done. I think it is wrong that the dealership refuse recalls service. I don't think they will refuse the service that pay them money. Very bad experience! I think the government should monitor this. Because they refusing the weekends service, a lot people may hold off their recalls just like me, which may cause problem for the road safety. The name of the dealership martin Mazda address: 289 e cleveland Ave, newark, DE 19711 phone:(302) 738-5200.
The front driver seat now wobbles backward. The seat is not securely in place, which is very unsafe. The same model vehicle had a recall for the 2010-2011 versions for the same issue. . Read more...
Drivers seat snapped in the middle of driving and chair fell backwards. I see a similar recall was issued for the same problem in 2011 Mazda 3 models. I am concerned a part used in 2011 was used for this 2012 car. The electronic base of the chair works, but the seat will need to be repaired.
Problem with my 2016 Mazda 3 4-door. The front passenger seat cushion trim is coming off the seat frame at the front end. This is the same issue reported in technical bulletin 09-025/19 except that bulletin refers to models build in mexico, mine was built in japan. Tulley Mazda wants to charge me $500 to replace the defective part.
