36 Seats problem of the 2012 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 12/08/2018

The link connecting the front left of the seat sheared off. It sounds exactly like the recall for the 2011 models.

37 Seats problem of the 2013 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 10/16/2018

I was driving and the drivers seat snapped on the back right corner. Sort of popped and dropped down a bit. I can physically move the seat up and down with my hands. I believe it's the same problem as the 2010-2011 model recall.

38 Seats problem of the 2012 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 09/15/2018

As I was entering my vehicle on a Saturday morning a metal piece under the seat snapped. The seat was no longer stable and I brought it to a Mazda dealer a couple of days later to inspect the issue. They provided me with the part number for the broken part in my vehicle. That part number, bbm4-88-h50a, is the same on all Mazda3s from 2010-2012. It is also the same part that was recalled on 2010-2011 Mazda3s but not the 2012 model. This part should absolutely be recalled on 2012 models since it is the same part and I am evidence that the part was still faulty on the 2012 models. I have attached 4 pieces of evidence that show proof of the inspection, the part that was broken, the fact that the part was the same from 2010-2012 models, and the NHTSA document showing the recall of that part. I am not a large person, ~145 lbs, and there is no reason a metal piece holding my seat in place should have snapped in two.

39 Seats problem of the 2015 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 07/01/2018

Left side of driver's seat height adjustment lifter link is broken. Drivers's seat rocks on the left side during braking, acceleration, and when stationary. This is distracting to the driver and could cause an accident. It could also lead to a more catastrophic failure.

40 Seats problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 06/15/2018

I've scheduled the recall repairs three times ,with three different Mazda dealerships, since June 2018, when my hatchback smashed against my head (pictures attached). Each time a day or two before the scheduled recall repairs each dealership had called and canceled the recall repairs with no availability on a reschedule date available. This is completely unacceptable. I attempted to reschedule the recall repairs today August 21,2019 , there is no dates available at any Mazda dealerships within 100 miles of my location for more than one year from now. So in my opinion this is Mazda completely failing to complete a timely repair on Mazda recalls.

41 Seats problem of the 2011 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 06/13/2018

42 Seats problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 06/01/2018

The seat is not secure to the frame or something, rocks like a rocking chair.

43 Seats problem of the 2016 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 12/16/2017

All seats separate from the base of the seat, meaning there is nothing holding the cushion that you sit on to the wire frame attached to the floor. The dealership informed me that the warranty solution after 7 attempts of fixing was to put zip ties through the nylon seat material and connect it to the base. This is not a solution to the problem since the thin nylon will just rip under pressure.

44 Seats problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 11/10/2017

Mazda recall I keep receiving recall notices from brookdale Mazda about the seat height adjustment lifter link. I have received at least 4-6 of them in the mail. When I call or use a chat line I am told that the service dept. Will call me back. Yea, right. I haven't received a call, e-mail or mailer (other than the ones telling me that there is a recall) where do I turn to now? Mazda doesn't seem to care!.

45 Seats problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 10/07/2017

My 2010 Mazda 3 has a broken driver's seat adjustment. A recall was issued for this in 2017, but the Mazda shop claims my car is not covered and did not repair the car.

46 Seats problem of the 2013 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 09/13/2017

The headlights flicker when braking or in parked. Drivers seat wobbles/rocks/shifts while driving making it dangerous.

47 Seats problem of the 2013 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 08/04/2017

The driver seat of my 2013 Mazda3 rocks forward and backwards, noticeable under heavy acceleration or braking. This can also be replicated by placing my feet on the floor of the car while seated in the driver seat and leaning back, when I do this the seat rocks back around 1/4 of an inch. I am concerned about the safety of this seat in an accident. This problem was brought up with the dealer who said "seat bases may wear out" and quoted +$1,800 to replace the seat base. This problem is similar to a recognized problem on the 2010 to 2012 Mazda3 cars, the 2013 model is in the same generation of car and may be similarly affected.

48 Seats problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 08/02/2017

I took my 2010 Mazda3 in for recall of seat link adjusters and to service my melting dashboard that causes an unsafe glare on the windshield while driving in sunny conditions. The dealership verified the recall and service in may 2017 and was informed that parts will need to be ordered. Was told that I would receive a call back in a week or two. After several repeated attempts at calling and emailing the dealership, I cannot reach the service department to check on the status of ordered parts. The time frame for the repair from the unsafe conditions of the driver's seat that moves while I shift, and the horrendous glare from the melting dashboard, is to slow for resolution. It has been 3 months since having my car inspected at rosenthal Mazda/gaithersburg Mazda at 625 north frederick avenue in gaithersburg, MD 20879. I have not received any response of communications informing me of the status of getting my car repaired or my rights as a consumer.

50 Seats problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

51 Seats problem of the 2013 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 06/05/2017

The swing arm that attaches the driver's seat to the left-side seat runner unexpectedly detached. Close inspection revealed that this was caused by a weld failure / metal fatigue at the point where the arm was welded to the rod that runs below the cushion. The seat is now unstable and rocks in an alarming way, both when accelerating and decelerating. Copied from an existing complaint for the 2010 model year because it is the exact same problem.

52 Seats problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 06/01/2017

The seat adjuster on my 2010 sgt Mazda3 broke one day as I was getting in, and now the seat moves every time I brake or accelerate. I took this to the dealer and the technician confirmed that it is the exact same issue as NHTSA campaign number: 17v082000. However, because my specific VIN isn't captured, they wanted $1000 (after discount from corporate customer service) to fix it. I feel that given the dealer technician confirmed it is the exact same issue, the recall should be expanded to include my VIN and those similar.

59 Seats problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 05/01/2017

My driver's seat rocks back and forth as if a link or screw is missing. I took it to keffer Mazda in huntersville, nc for them to look at it along with my sticky dash board over two months ago. They replaced my dash but stated they didn't have the part for my seat. I was told they would get in touch with me about the seat. I have called three times since and they appear to be ignoring me. This rocking has been going on for about four months of less. Something just popped one day and the rocking happened.

60 Seats problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 04/29/2017

Got in my car, started backing out of the driveway, heard a loud pop under the driver's seat, and noticed the front left part of the seat was pulling up from the frame by an inch or two. Upon closer inspection I noticed the weld that secures the seat to the frame broke. I am not a large guy (~170 lbs) nor am I rough with the seat. After a bit of searching, it seems this is a rather widespread issue with 2010 Mazda 3s and it obviously a safety concern.

63 Seats problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 03/12/2017

Mazda recall #: 0917b NHTSA recall #: 17v-082 while car was off/stationary, I sat in the driver's seat and heard a pop as the seat rocked backward. Looked under the seat and saw that two brackets had snapped. It now forces an unsafe driving position since the seat no longer stays in place. It leans backwards freely and is clearly unsafe for driving because there is no support whatsoever for the driver. It was parked in my driveway. I contacted Mazda factory service after having a local service center inspect the problem and they determined that it is not a part of the recall. I would like to know how this happens and how it is possible that it is unrelated to this recall.
