Faulty e-brake. E-brake button has corroded away and will no longer hold the car in park (car is a manual, so this is particularly concerning since this is the only way to offically keep the car in park when turned off). Car was parked in a stationary position, on a slightly slanted road. Came back and car had slightly backed up into car behind it because parking break had 'let go'. Luckily slant was small enough to not cause damage to the car behind mine, and only left a minor dent in my rear bumper. Inside of car was hot (it was a usual hot day) and seemed as though the actual parking break button, or glue that held it on, had melted. I can now no longer keep the break in park - have to either put it in first gear, or physically hold the break up with something underneath, putting my car and other at risk for car rolling back.

When driving, regardless of weather conditions or outside temperature, it feels as if the brakes are dragging. There is a recall on the brakes/parking brake that was issued in June 2017 but Mazda is unable to make the necessary repairs and it is now October 18! this is an ongoing issue so this form is asking "when did this happen?" but this is not just a one-time event. It feels as if the brakes are dragging every day and has felt that way for months.
The contact owns a 2015 Mazda 6. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 17v393000 (service brakes). The part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The local dealer (cox Mazda, 3101 cortez road west, bradenton, FL 34207) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were on backorder. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The VIN was invalid. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

This car is not safe and Mazda has known for years. The door sash molding has caused me permanent brain damage. At age 43, I had to retire/disability due to defects Mazda knew of and just inform consumer of in 2018? I was making right hand turn, legally. Someone in lane next to me decided to turn and hit side of car. I as not injure on impact. It was the three week had to drive damage car while wait for lady's insurance to pay. The metal piece that in sspa5 status stuck out and hit head on it multiple times. My neurologist was dumfounded and could not figure out where my various horrible symptoms came from. The accident occur March 2017,Mazda has known for years, check Mazda forum. Had this fix 3 times and is falling apart on passenger side again. As far as electrical, I will be at red light or stopped and car turn off for no reason, the bluetooth which need for directions goes in and out. It is safety concern for me due to confusion symptom of brain damage. I just received in febuary 2018 safety recall 1217f on brake issue. It state Mazda concerned about safety, but again knew of issue and hat sent recall. The car has many serious manufacture defect that have caused my life to be ruin, and as I research, bodily harm to other people. Mazda, even when shown medical record and note from neurologist will not release me from my lease unless I get another Mazda, which I will never do. I am on restricted driving and need to feel safe in the car I drive. I absolutely do not. Can only imagine what safety recall will come next month. If Mazda cared about humans, these recalls would have been sent minute issue was acknowledged. The very least Mazda can do is release me from lease, but they wont. Please get me out of this deadly machine so I am not afraid of car. Thank you. I don't know how to add documents, another symptom of brain damage, memory loss,.
Smart city breaks malfunction. A breaking system that is only supposed to work when going under 20mph, applied when I was going 65-70 down a freeway. Check engine light came on, car started applying breaks, then slammed on breaks. Drivers foot still on gas peddle, happened within seconds.

This car has had many random computer problems starting with transmission locking in low gear until you stop the car and restart. Car shuts off displaying automatic stop break got very hard and steering very hard. My daughter had an accident last week 2/2/17 due to vehicle loss of power hard breaking and steering. Called Mazda with no response.
The contact owns a 2010 Mazda 6. While driving 30 mph, a rattling noise emitted from the wheels without warning. The contact pulled the vehicle to the side of the road and stated that the brakes seized when the pedal was depressed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 29,000.

While driving on the highway with cruise control on, my car atomatically slammed on the brakes and slowed down rapidly. A short time later, the forward obstruction warning indicator came on and said an inspection was needed. Mazda dealership said "never heard of that" despite similar public comments on user forums. Dealer will not cover full cost of the repair becuase care it out of warranty. I believe this is a serious safety issue that should not fall under normal warranty considerations.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2005 Mazda 6. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle independently accelerated without warning. The brake pedal was depressed to the floor, but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact mentioned that the vehicle accelerated up to 50 mph and stopped after the emergency brake was engaged and the ignition key was removed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact also received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 15v345000 (air bags), 15v382000 (air bags), 15v869000 (air bags), and 16v354000 (air bags) and stated that the parts needed for the repairs were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

After having the dealer tighten the emergency brake cable the e-brake stopped working again so I tightened the cable again and that didn't work. Evidently there thousands of 2014 Mazda6s' with this poor design. There is a flaw in the design of the rear e-brake mechanism. Shame on you Mazda for letting something as simple as this get past your "engineers".
After making a left turn I depressed the brakes to stop for a red traffic signal. The brake pedal was excessively hard to operate and failed to stop the car. To avoid an accident, I had to use the parking break. At the same time the engine rpm increased dramatically. I shifted the transmission to neutral which brought the rpm to normal velocity. After this incident the car performed normally. I have experienced this problem three times, the last time was on April 4,2016. I noticed the failure occurs at slow speed, around 15 to 25 miles/hour. I went twice to berge Mazda in mesa,az. Unfortunately they were unable to duplicate the break failure during test. This predicament is still unresolved and could be the cause of a deadly accident. Some help in this matter would be appreciated.
I recently replaced my front brakes due to normal wear. I took my car to a local madza dealership, and when the job was completed, my brakes began to make odd noises on the drivers side. I took the car back, and they told me that brakes make noises. I told them, that wasn't true. Prior to the new brake job, my original brakes didn't make odd noises. I then took the vehicle to another madza dealership. Again, I was told nothing was wrong. Meanwhile, when o engage the brakes, there's a strange noise that continues on the drivers side. I've read car forums online, and it said the brakes are the wrong size for these model vehicles. Madza needs to fix the problem before someone gets injured. This happens while using the braking system.
Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Mazda Mazda6. The contact stated while driving 26 mph the vehicle the vehicle was involved in a rear end collision. The contact stated the warning systems did not activate the automatic braking feature did not engage. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnoised or remedied. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. A police report was filed. No injuries were reported. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was 4700. Kh.
Was following a car and came up to a stop light. I depressed brake pedal and felt some resistance but car would not stop. Felt like the brakes were being bled off by perhaps computer control. I switched into a right hand turn lane that was clear, car still not stopping. Shifted into neutral, and engine started to rev up perhaps to 4500 rpm or so, then engine went back to idle on its own. The car had stopped and I put it in park. We then turned right and cautiously proceeded home, without a further problem. Took to dealer and requested the memory be analyzed, they said they could not read the black box at the dealership. It showed no faults. Test drive was uneventful. I again requested the black box be analyzed as the brakes appeared to be bleeding off. They said they would let me know if Mazda needed anything more. My background includes auto mechanic, tow truck driver, car dealership, technician, software engineer, and analyst.
I have replaced the low beam bulbs 2 times since I got the car 2/2014. It's crazy cause once got out . Then you can hit it and it won't come back on only for like a week or so then the other side goes out now I'm driving around town with no headlights only got high beams sounds like the steering wheel is about to fall off or the power steering pump is about to go out replace the brakes 2 times already since I've had the car just terrible.

I was driving with my 7 year old in my 2005 Mazda 6 when I noticed the car was accelerating on its own just a litle bit. I didnt think much of it at the time. About 2 minutes later the rpms went up and down 3 times( 1000 rpms each time). Immediatley after that, my brakes stopped working while I was going about 35 mph. I had the brake pedal floored and it barely stopped in time. I managed to stop with my emergency brake and put on my hazard lights for a few minutes while the car was still running. I had to get out of the road so I attempted to reverse very slowly and the brakes were suddenly working. I pulled the car in a parking lot with no brake problems and got it towed to a shop. The shop is telling me they are not finding any problems but I dont feel safe in the car without an answer! im worried it may happen again and cause an accident next time.
My break routers are completely warped! after 6 months of having my car my breaks have gone out multiple times, I don't not drive my car long distances or even on a daily basis. I can be going as slow as 25 mph and when I go to break my car will start to shake (not much but noticeable) this is very dangerous due to the fact it can cause loss of control while breaking. I have taken my car to the dealer and had it worked on under a "one time" warranty meaning they will maintenance the break once at no cost to me. Each time I have gone or spoken to my dealer they say they can't figure out why it keeps happening and even said it could be normal wear and tear (which is not the case). I am apart of a regional Mazda club and everyone with a Mazda 6 (2009-12) seem to have the exact same problem with this. Also, the tire pressure light stays on. Almost immediately after I purchased my car the light came on followed by the loud beeping sound that warns you that your tire pressure is low. I called my dealer and they looked at it and told my I just need air. Well the very next day the light came on and the loud beeping followed. A long with that my passenger seat air bag light keeps say that the air bag is off, and the passenger seat low beam headlight has issues with stay on.
The brake rotors on this vehicle need machining each year due to grabbing. My Mazda dealership has machined them after the first year and replaced them under warranty at 30k. The replacement rotors are to be machined again on 4/26/14. This is a safety issue due to potential loss of control during braking.
The contact owns a 2010 Mazda Mazda6. The contact stated that the rotors were prematurely warped, causing the vehicle to jerk violently. Also, the contact mentioned that the tpms and passenger air bag warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 60,000.
The brakes have been replaced a total of 14 times starting at 18,896 miles, it was recommended to be replaced at 16,578. The headlights have been replaced 15 times starting at 20,662 miles. Also at the time of the 1st brake replacement, the right shock had to be replaced. I have been pulled over several times within 2 weeks after having lights replaced to tell me they were out again.
I nave had to replace the brakes 15 times starting at 18,896 miles and the lights 15 times since 20,662 miles. I have been pulled over several times about the lights, after they had just been replaced. I was told that the right and left harness needed to be replaced. I just took it back for the 15th time this time the harness is rusted supposedly because of a crack in the covering, if that is why it was rusted why was it not taken care of when it occurred while it was under warranty. I haven't been given an explanation for the brakes. Now they are suggesting I should think about purchasing another car when this was is not paid off.
The adaptive cruise control (mrcc), Smart city break system (sbs), and distance recognition (drss) safety features failed for the first time during the mentioned date above (Feb 18 2014, at 21000km. I reported to Mazda service center I khobar, ksa though phone calls, emails, and brought car for several times. I waited for months until the issues were resolved on April 7 2014 at 30000km last June 14, 2014, the same failures occurred again while I was driving on a highway at 75mph. I brought the car to service center on the next day and it took a day to fix the issues. Im afraid the same issues will occur again which is put myself to high risk for road accidents.
For some reason the brake rotor on the left front wheel warps very quickly after driving under normal conditions for about 2 weeks. The rotor that warps makes the steering wheel shake violently when braking at highway speeds and is difficult to control steering. Also when braking at highway speeds the shaking decreases if the brake pedal is stomped on hard but this results in "brake checking" the vehicle that is following behind the car. To try to correct the issue the front rotors were machined several times, replaced, machined again but the problem persists. At lower speeds the car lurches forward and back forward and back as the brake catches and releases the warped rotor.
The contact owns a 2004 Mazda 6. When the emergency brake was applied, the vehicle was able to roll backwards. The failure was intermittent. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 103,001.

When starting and initially driving the vehicle in single digit temperatures the power assist to the brakes cuts off intermittently and without warning. When starting the vehicle in extreme cold temperatures the "tcs off" light illuminates and remains lit for approximately 30-45 seconds after the vehicle is running. When driving, the vehicle's power braking system fails to engage resulting in a stiff pedal requiring excessive stopping force. This situation goes away after brakes have been pumped or used repeatedly (presumably to warm up fluid). Problem does not manifest at higher temperatures and no additional abnormalities exist in braking performance and no dashboard lights illuminate to signal a problem. Potential for collision if above normal stopping distance is not observed during operation in cold conditions. Due to the fact that the issue is intermittent a vehicle diagnostic would likely turn up a "could not duplicate" scenario.
I was driving in the rain, the road was wet and as I attempted to stop the brakes were locked. The brake pedal would not depress while trying to stop in the rain. As I swerved to avoid a fatality I continued to tap on the brake before the brake would unlock. This is the third incident that I have encountered since I purchased this car in 2011. I have taken this vehicle to the dealership and each time I have paid for brake issues, rotors being warped, brakes scrubbing together not holding. I have attempted to get a resolution but noone has assisted with this issue.

The contact owns a 2009 Mazda Mazda6. The contact stated that while attempting to engage the emergency brake, the release button fractured. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the emergency brake assembly needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileage was 49,000.
The contact owns a 2012 Mazda Mazda6. The contact stated that while unoccupied, the vehicle rolled away and crashed into a wall while the emergency brake was engaged. The contact also stated that the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle had difficulty starting. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be replicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was not available.
The rotors are warped after less then 30k miles. This causes the car to shimmy when braking at any appreciable speed (any speed over 40mph). Took car to dealer and they claim it is not covered under the warranty as it is "normal wear and tear". Called Mazda and they too refused to fix the problem under the warranty.
The contact owns a 2007 Mazda, Mazda6. While driving approximately 15 mph and approaching a stop sign, the contact applied the brake pedal and the vehicle continued to accelerate. The brakes were engaged repeatedly before the vehicle came to a stop. The vehicle was able to resume with caution at a low speed. A similar failure occurred at a different time. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000.

When applying foot to the brakes, the pedal "collapes" to the floor with little to no resistance. Releasing the brake pedal and quickly pumping does regain some resistance, but braking is affected. The problem is intermitant and is not triggered by any specific event.
When I enter car and attach seat belt, at some point during starting out or in the process of going down the road, the seat will start leaning backwards due to the seatbelt being hooked around the lever to tilt the seat back. My feet no longer reach the gas or break pedal when this happens. I have been fortunate enough that it has not been the cause of an accident so far. It happens at any time after starting out or anytime during driving or in motion. Seems to be happening more often the longer I have had it.
