1 Tank Assembly problem of the 2011 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 11/07/2011

Car is new, less than one month since purchase. Issue has occurred with every fill-up. When filling up with gas, as soon as or near tank is full, gas spews out of tank. Took to Mazda dealer on 11/19/2011 and they cannot find what the cause is. Seems like a highly dangerous problem to have gas shooting from the tank. Also, it could be a faulty valve that may malfunction in the case of a rollover, creating a highly combustible situation.

2 Tank Assembly problem of the 2009 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 03/21/2011

The contact owns a 2009 Mazda Mazda6. The contact stated that they turned the defrost on and a yellow sac spider came out of the vent and bit him. The contact spoke with a pharmacist regarding the spider bite and was told that they heard of the failure with the yellow sac spider. The contact spoke with manufacturer and was told that they had considered issuing a recall notice at the end of March or the beginning of April, because this happened in other countries. The contact stated that the manufacturer came to his home, retrieved the vehicle, inspected it by placing a stick and a brush inside the fuel line. If there were no spiders in the fuel line, they would return the vehicle. The contact was concerned since they were not checking the air vents where the spider was. The contact was concerned about the safety risk since the spiders could come out of the vents while driving. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage and current mileage was 17,800.

3 Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 08/14/2010

My stepson was involved in a rear-end collision with a 2008 Mazda 6. The damage is severe enough to the left rear area of the car I believe the car is totaled. It was a 40-50 mph impact. The fuel tank was exposed after the accident and crushed. My concern and complaint is why didn't the fuel safety cutoff activate after a hard impact in the rear? I believe there is a device mandated by federal laws that after a rear end collision of this magnitude that the car would not start after the impact. In this case it did start and run smooth. I would like to have someone investigate as to why this device wasn't not properly functioning at the time of the accident. I will also notify Mazda and my insurance company of this defect as well.

1)Nov. '04. . . . 12 hours after we purchased the vehicle, were called back to have Mazda replace gas tank "due to recall". Mazda "misplaced" my new gas tank. Mazda"problem not duplicated" 3)8-19-05 a. Clutch shudders when going from 0-1 & 1-2 gear (manual trans. ) b. Moaning sound from steering/engine right front area. Mazda: "unable to duplicate" 3) car makes moaning sound from steering/right front engine while turning. Mazda: "unable to duplicate" problem listings go on with my same complaints. Each time, Mazda states "problem not duplicated". Now, warranty is up, guess what: Mazda says: "we've found your problem! yeah, we found it really quickly, is the reason that I'm calling you so soon. You need a new clutch which will fix your ongoing clutch complaint of 3 years. Oh, and we'll need to order a new engine mount, and take apart the engine to take a hard look at the transmission. You seems to have some problems from your clutch which affected the transmission. Your warranty is up, and we would have fixed the problem had we noticed it before 3,000 miles. But, no need to worry. . . . . We'll put you in a rental car. . . . ".
