I bought a used car from a small dealership, they sold me the car without a dash harness, all the wiring that is supposed to be connected to the computer in my car is not there, so I can't do smog check. The mechanic could not check why the check engine light was on because the computer in my car was not communicating with the tool. Sold me the car with airbags not working. Lied about having it all checked out. And I still haven't received my title, registration, and plates to my car.

My Mazda6 spontaneously caught on fire while it was parked on a street and completely burned down. The fault/problem cause is unknown at this time but I suspect there was wiring/electrical fault and manufacturing and design defect. Both the sheriff's department and fire department were involved in assisting me in this incident. I am still waiting for reports from law enforcement/first responders. Mazda has refused to address this situation without me providing them with an "inspection report supporting the claim a defect was present and said defect caused the fire. " as I was only a lessee of the vehicle, I have no possession of the vehicle and, therefore, I cannot order an inspection on the vehicle. Mazda is acting in bad-faith.

Main wiring harness near engine coils chewed thru by rodent while it was parked in the city. One wire was completely cut and another nearby wire was chewed. These wires cary high voltages and can cause fire if shorted. This wiring harness may contain soy based products which can attract rodents. This car engine cover has enough room for robent to get inside and make their home near the wires. The white fibers materials you see in the image is from the engine cover insulation that rat removed from cover.

I bought this car in January of 2017. Lately, I noticed the right side of dash went black, as steering info switch fails while driving. Before our summer vacation road trip, I read through the manual and tested out electronic "bells and whistles", I discovered the master control switch in console and the steering wheel's radio volume control were non-functional(never worked). There was no fuse to check. Mazda dealer claims shorted out due to beverage spill as cup holders are located next to master control switch. If so, why aren't relatively "high" voltage wires protected and waterproof at this location? dealer has had vehicle more that two weeks; as dealer claims electrical problems need to be traced back into steering wheel and dash. Back in January, as I was signing a purchase agreement, the dealership's finance employee strongly suggested I also buy an additional repair contract because "this model has like 15 computers in it. " I did, but now I wish I didn't buy the vehicle. I don't believe wiring in this vehicle is safe.

I purchased a new Mazda 6 in 2005. Since then I have had to replace the battery 3 times. Each time the battery went out with no warning. It would be driving fine, I would park and get out. When returning to the car, it will not turn at all. Internal and external lights and radio worked fine but car will not turn. The first two times the battery was jumped and the car was taken to a Mazda dealership and replaced under the Mazda battery manufacturer warranty because they went out before the 36 month warranty. The last time in August of 2010, the battery will not jump. I paid to have the car towed to a Mazda dealership. I was told that the battery had a crack in it and acid leaked out and as a result, the engine wiring harness needed to be replaced. At this time, the battery was covered under the Mazda manufacturer warranty and the wiring harness was covered under my Mazda extended warranty plan. I did some research and found that there is a possibility that the leaking acid could have caused an explosion and my family was lucky. I received a call from the dealership saying that the manufacturer warranty will replace only the battery itself and the extended warranty is denying the entire claim because the damage to the wiring harness was from the battery acid. So, here I am with a battery under Mazda manufacturer warranty, covered by a Mazda extended warranty plan and I had to pay for everything except for the battery itself. I paid for the tow, the labor and parts for the harness, rental car while it was being services. And the fact is that there was a faulty battery that leaked acid, put my family in danger, and I was stuck with the collateral damages. Considering that this was my 3rd battery replacement in 5 years, I'm certain there is something wrong with these batteries or something in the car itself. I am now driving with my 3rd Mazda battery replacement and afraid of when my next incident is going to be. .

Car wouldn't start so we were going to have it jump started. The cables on the battery were burnt and there was evidence of battery acid on other parts of the engine. The car was under warranty and was repaired by the dealership after several phone calls. Now, I just recently noticed a funny odor and the vinyl on the left front door appeared to be melting and the buttons would not work the windows. I took it to a mechanic where he showed me that the wiring harness and switch was completely burned up. Fortunately this did not happen while driving and start a fire. Unfortunately the vehicle is no longer covered by the warranty so I will have to pay out of pocket for the repairs. My mechanic said that he has never seen this happen before and there probably no way of detecting this ahead of time.

I am experiencing problems on cold starts. The car will idle up to 2000 rpm, then idle all the way down and die. All of this will take place in about 5-6 seconds. The dealer told me that it was an aftermarket handsfree kit I had added to the car. But I purchased the car in January and had the kit added in late February, and had no problems up until a couple weeks ago (late may). The dealer unhooked the handsfree kit, because they said that the aftermarket product was the problem. After having the kit unhooked for about 2 weeks now, I still experience the problem. The kit is not even hooked into the cars wiring anywhere, it is wired onto the batter directly. The phone is not even in the kit while the car is starting, and the kit pulls no power unless the phone is in it.
