Mercedes Benz E350 owners have reported 4 problems related to starter solenoid (under the electrical system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The cam solenoid sensors are picking up oil, then it is being disbursed in to the electrical systems of the vehicle. It is flowing into, O2 sensors making the vehicle run in a full rich mode, it is reaching the computer system that runs the entire vehicle. This repair can cost upwards of $8000. I have done online research and it is a very common issue amongst many mercedes vehicles. The issue is a known problem, it was being repaired but mercedes stopped the repair. It comes from an internal issue, not a fail to maintain problem. I contacted mercedes, they say they don't know of the issue, but they did tell me, they know how to fix the problem for a cost of over $ 5000. To us. Online searches have resulted in many complaints by owners. Regular driving is a result of the issue. Now we can't drive out vehicle due to fear of the oil in the electrical lines reaching our cpu for the entire car, which will result several thousand more dollars on top of the repair cost. We have paid $ 800. At this point only to be told, do not drive the care or worse damage will occur. So we have a beautiful car that is collecting leaves and dust. I await your response, garyw. Smith. We contacted mercedes bens of raleigh nc, they are our contact point, they don;t know of an issue but know the cure for $5000. Plus dollars, hmmm, curious. . .

Brought it back to the dealer where I bought it and told me to bring it to mb. Turn out to be heck engine light due to faulty camshaft adjuster solenoid on mercedes-benz E350. Why is their no recall on this, it cost $8,000. 00 to get it fixed?.

I had my car maybe 2 months before I started having problems transmission first they said a transmission module was burned out and it had a recall I took it back several times I wasn't notified of this issue but kept having it. (park place dallas)
then I took it to austin they worked on it several times same issue now Nov the issue was so bad I was going down the street 25 mph couldn't go any faster and when they picked up the car they said they couldn't find it but a solenoid switch had burned out I thought it was the heater they said it was a recall on this part also 3 weeks later burning again dragging again when driving they said the solenoid switch recalled again. They kept the car until 2/25/2008 since christmas eve . I called corporate and they had a rep who contacted mercedes of georgetown ,TX their resolution was for me to pay another 15-20 thousand dollars and they would give me a new vehicle . I called an attorney who said they could switch VIN numbers with my lender and replace this junk that I am driving. I came to mercedes looking for a dependable car gave them $20,000 down on a $58,000 car thinking that for at least 7 to 8 years for this price I would have a dependable car this car is junk why must I continue to add on to my payment due to their mess every item recalled has been recalled at least 2 times it's also not fair they didn't notify other buyers what will they do when they no longer have warranties .
