Wiper Problems of Mercedes Benz E350

Recently (April 2024) we've noticed water drops forming on the inside of the vehicle along the top of the front windshield after a rain. Pushing outward along the top inside of the windshield glass indicates some movement of the glass. This applies all along the top inside of the windshield and not just one spot or area. So far, we have only observed water drops and have not observed any water pooling or puddling yet. We have not yet contacted a dealer; however we have conducted online research that strongly suggests that the windshield urethane adhesive seal is failing. Additional online information suggests that mercedes had identified windshield urethane adhesive seal batch issues with certain 2016 E350 models. There have been no warning lamps or indicators from the vehicle. We have not observed any vehicle performance issues other than hearing a slight general whistling sound while driving at highway speeds above 55 mph, but that has been unchanged for years so it is likely not related to the windshield seal. The vehicle currently has approximately 30,000 miles on the odometer, and we are the second owners, having purchased it as a certified pre-owned vehicle with about 10,000 miles.

Panoramic sunroof stuck will not close. Generally dealer purportedly recalled select vehicles acknowledging issue, however oem states this particular VIN is not included in recall, not making any sense, if they acknowledge problem but decline to resolve for others.

Vehicle headlight burned out while driving at night time reduced visibility. Upon inspection found the headlight wires insulation located behind the passenger's light bulb connector melted/burnt causing short circuit. Temporary fixing it with an electrical tape.

The 2013 Mercedes Benz E350 model has a problem wherein the windshield sealant used by Mercedes Benz has deteriorated to the point wherein water is leaking into the car cabin. The windshield is supposed to be an integral structural part of the vehicle and should not separate from the car. The separation of the windshield from the car is a huge safety risk to the driver as well as others on the road - especially if the driver is going at speeds of 65mph on the freeway. The vehicle and the windshield was inspected by the authorised and official Mercedes Benz dealership and they confirmed the findings that the factory sealant used to seal the windshield had deteriorated and separated from the rest of the car body to the point wherein water was leaking into the car cabin.

My car's windshield at first started to leak. I took the car to the dealer and was informed that leaky windshields are not covered by the warranty. I took no further action as we were still in a covid restricted environment and the need for the car was low. As my company started to return to the office I have begun using the car more and have now observed that windshield adhesion to the frame has now deteriorated. The car has approximately 41k miles at which I would not expect the windshield to be unglued. I was also recently made aware that there is a similar problem affecting other mb 2020 vehicles, which I do not find to be a coincidence. My car will now require a full windshield replacement and mb is refusing to discuss it.

Roof started leaking & whistling, could feel air even when it was closed. Went to get it checked out was told the glass panel was detaching.

Windshield separation from body of car causing water intrusion and water damage on headliner and electrical components.

Pin point indentation below passenger side wiper developed into a 15 inch windshield crack. Location of the indentation made it impossible for a stone or object to hit the windshield that far below the hood line. Suspect a defective windshield was installed at the factory.

In October of 2013 I leased a 2014 mercedes E350. The vehicle had been parked overnight at my home on 12/25/13 and upon entering the vehicle on 12/26/13, I noticed a large crack extending approximately 15 inches from the bottom of the driver's side windshield wiper and up to the center portion of the windshield. When I parked the vehicle at my home on 12/25/13 this large 15 inch crack did not exist. I took the vehicle to the mercedes dealership on 12/27/13 and was told the huge crack in the windshield was caused by a small impact, about the diameter of a pencil point just below the windshield wiper. The extremely small pencil point diameter impact caused the windshield to develop the crack overnight while the vehicle was parked at my home, since the large crack didn't exist when I last exited my vehicle at my home on 12/25/13. I believe that if such a small pencil point sized impact as alleged by the dealer, could cause such a large crack to develop overnight while my vehicle was parked at my home, the windshield itself is defective and the weakness of the E350 windshield poses a serious safety hazard.

The interior dash vents (shiny items) are reflected unto the side mirrors making it dangerous when changing lanes because one cannot be sure what one is seeing in those lanes because the reflection is very pronounce. These vents and other dash items are also reflected on the windshield, almost like an obstruction when one is driving. In addition, the adjustable front seats, are so uncomfortable that one is constantly adjusting the seat setting while driving. These issues can cause quite a distraction and are obviously dangerous. When we reported these items to the dealership, mbcharlotte, and mbusa, they took no action. If there was ever an accident with this vehicle, and the cause and effect was related to these issues as contributing factors, how can one ever prove that they caused the accident or contributed to the cause. One would need a whole lot of experts to show that the manufacturer build in the problem by not addressing it, or testing for the effect that these issues cause the driver('s). One of the dealers product expert, solution to the reflection problem was to roll down the windows when driving to get rid of the reflections. The individual who sold us the car, [xxx], tells me, now, that he notices this reflection on all these cars. The dealership is indifferent about these items brought to their attention.
