I have escaped quite a few accidents on my way home. With the new time change, I leave work right at dusk. The lights will not come on. I live way out in the country and have to drive 15 miles out. I have to switch to my high beam when a car is coming my way, and I blind it and other cars as well. I am soooo tired of this. I am going to cause a terrible accident !!!! I took my recall letter to the Ford car dealership here in town months and months ago. I keep calling for an update, and they say that the part has not come in. What can I do?.
Was driving down busy highway lights just went out happened to be church drive ahead and pulled in off highway, the lights has went out about 5 more times since then. Checked own internet found a lot more with same problem, something has to be done about this before some one is killed.

While driving home with my wife and granddaughter my wipers started to go on in delay mood and my lights turned on. I was shocked at this because my wiper switch was in the off setting and my light switch was in auto setting and it was a bright sunny day. After about ten or 15 minutes the wipers stopped and lights went out. A few day later I was going to the store and it started all over wipers staying on in the delay mood and this time did not stop. I call my brother in florida whom is a auto tech and he told me that it seemed like the multifuction switch and told me to change it out which I did. It did not resolve the issue and the car remains down due to this issue. There is only 42300 on this car which my father gave me as a gift and he bought it new from leominster Lincoln mecury and I feel this issue is a safety problem which could lead to complete wiper failing or worse a car fire from some defective system that controls this wiper system. Car remains down as of the writing of this report. Due to myself being disabled and on s/s disability I do not have the money to fix this problem because I feel a dealer service tech should take this issue from here. I have disconected the battey and the car now sits in my driveway.
Since August 2013, every time I turned on my signal light, the intermittent sound for the signal would click faster than usual indicating that a light might be bad. I would check all the lights around the vehicle and they were all good. Then going about 55 on a highway at night, I noticed that it was really dark in front of my vehicle. Pulled over and found that I was driving without light. The head lamps had turned off even though they were on the on position. I had to drive home holding my high beam lights at all times. I heard a click, the lights came on. I let go of the high beam. The head lamps stayed on for 15 min and click, they went off again. This happened to me 4 times. Finally, I took the car to have it diagnosed and was told that the lighting control module had gone bad. I would think that there would have been a recall on this item since so many people have had the same problem as listed on NHTSA website. It could be really dangerous.
The instrument panel, radio, a/c, etc. , all interior lights flicker randomly. I notice this when I am driving at night mostly. It does it during the day, but is not as noticeable. I have already changed the module one time, and it is doing it again. Has been occurring for two years.
While driving home approx 10:30 pm my headlamps flicked on & of then went out totally and will not come back on, obviously a serious safety issue !.

Lights went out while driving down a major highway, only brights would work, then they went off. After clicking them off and on they came back on for a while , then off again. What a dangerous situation this is!! please do a recall on this as I have seen numerous complaints about this happening to people. Head lights on my 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis will not come on. Parking lights work and hi beams. Got pulled over by columbus OH police department because I was driving with hi beams on. This is the second time that this has happened.

2004 Mercury Grand Marquis outside lights goes off and on intermittently. I have 72,000 miles on my car. It suddenly happen one day while I was driving at night from my second job on the highway. It scared me nearly to death and is very dangerous.
Light controler shuts lights off at night while driving. The only way to get lights to drive with is to hold dircetional signial handel up with one hand and drive with the other.
We have 9 Mercury Grand Marquis in our fleet. We are a 24 hour transportation service and our cars are out a night. The lights just turn off without warning and our drivers now have to drive in the dark until the lights come back on after shutting the car down. Or, they may not come back on and have to have the car towed in. We have purchased this company in may 2008 and purchased all nine cars at the same time. We have replaced four of the nine so far at the cost of $591. Each, our cost according to whiteys' automall mansfield ohio. If this item is so defective that we have to keep replacing this same item in each car, why was this item not recalled and corrected. I am listing one date, there has been 4 different dates, 4 different cars. (2) 2004's (1) 2003 and now (1) 2002, our 2005's and 2006's have not indicated a problem as yet.
