A bolt in the shifting linkage loosens over time on many Ford models. Our bolt apparently loosened & causes shifter to be in a great other than what is indicated on the dash. Our vehicle indicated it was in the ' park' position, but was not. The vehicle later rolled down the hill & caused nearly $1200 of damage to the passenger side. Ford knows of this problem.

Autozone- valucraft brand- ball joints part number vfa2101 I recently had my ball joints replaced and I had a premature failure of the ball joint fastening hardware while driving down the city road in a straight line at 45 mph. It caused thousands of dollars of damage and it also almost cause me great injury. I suspect autozone is using low grade nuts cause the nut that was on the ball joint sheared off causing me to bend a control arm, crack my frame, blow a tire, all while barely missing a telephone pole. Had I been going down the highway at the posted speed limit I could have flipped my car, got pulled under a semi, cross the median into oncoming traffic and so on. I would like for an investigation to be started on their poor engineering choices and a recall to be started. Its just not for the safety of me but for the safety of other people. I do have all damage pictures and pictures of the failure point. I have pictures of the nut in question compared to another competitors brand and there is a noticeable size difference and hardness difference. The ball joints were replaced 9/26/2015 and failed on 4/25/2016. Autozone part number vfa2101. My belief is the nut is a lower grade when it should be a grade 8 nut. I say thousands of dollars because the auto body shops around me said they will not repair the frame because its a liability and would recommend a new frame to be put under the vehicle essentially totaling my car out causing me to have to spend thousands to replace my vehicle.

While driving down GA highway 16 from dublin, GA to warner robins, GA the car started swaying and become very hard to controll. Nearly missed going under a semi. Extremely scarey. Had to pull off road forcibly. Turn vehicle off waited for a while then proceeded home very catiously.
Steering became difficult, hard or chunky steering while driving when making turns. Ford made needed repairs and replaced upper steering shaft. I thought it should have been covered under Ford recall # 13s08 or 14s25.

My 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis has extremely tight steering issue. Especially tight on left turning. The car only has 51,900 miles. Saw Ford has recalled 2005 to 2011. Not sure why they don't recall 2003 and 2004. They are the same generation. The problem was found immediately after parked 2 days. Fortunately it is not on highway. Can't image what safety problem it will cause.
Steering locks up while driving. While driving the steering locks up and you have to apply real force regain steering. I took to a mechanic and was informed it was the lowet steering joint. From what I have read there is a issue with a component of the steering system and your department is investigating it. I had a 2009 Mercury Grand Marquis that a steering part recalled.

Steering has become progressively more difficult over the past two months. Initially the tight steering would go away after driving, or only be slightly noticeable. However at this point, the wheel can only be turned by applying significant force, and then when the wheel does turn, it does so in a jerky fashion.
I went to drive my car from my home parking space and when tried to turn the wheel it wouldn't turn. I tried again and got the steering wheel to turn some amount but it was pretty hard to do. As I turned the wheel a little more it eased up a bit and then became hard again. Part of turning the wheel is quite hard and then part is a little more normal. The steering seems very bad and hard to control. I had no previous problems and have not sufferd any damage from driving. I was afraid something was lodged in the engine compartment so I checked and could see nothing out of the ordinary. I parked the car and drove my other car for the week. Something is physically wrong with the car steering and I feel it is unsafe to drive on any road. I'm afraid it will break while driving. The car is not driven very much and is in pretty nice shape.
