Driving down busy by pass @ about 65 mph. Car started to stall out. Car behind me almost hit me from behind because of this. Had car checked out, it was the throttle body sensor. Something about not opening and/or closing properly. . . . . Had a diagnostics done: code p2111. . . . . .

The contact owns a 2010 Mercury Milan. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled while driving 65 mph the failure was experienced several times. The wrench warning icon illuminated as the failure occurred and remained illuminated after the failure. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home where a personal mechanic performed a diagnostic on the vehicle. The failure was located at the throttle body. The dealer advised the contact that the throttle body could not yet be replaced because it was on a national back order. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileage was 40,000.

On June 1 the vehicle got stuck at 4 rpm's while driving on a highway and when the accelerator was pressed, the vehicle did not respond. A week later the vehicle again did not accelerate when the gas pedal was pressed while attempting to enter a highway. The vehicle sputtered and stalled out. Vehicle was turned off and back on with no other problems. On June 18 the vehicle sputtered & stalled leaving a parking lot. The vehicle was turned off and restarted 4 times, but this time the vehicle would not respond when accelerator was pressed. Each time accelerator was pressed it sputtered and died. Vehicle was towed from the scene and problem was diagnosed as a throttle body failure.

The contact owns a 2010 Mercury Milan. The contact stated that while making a left turn, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to a local mechanic, who stated the throttle actuator was defective and needed to be replaced. The mechanic advised the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer. The dealer replaced the throttle actuator. The failure mileage was 52,000.

While driving on a country road at 50 mph on mon. May 27th, the car seemed to stall, the gas pedal didn't work & we had to pull over ASAP. After stopping & restarting the car, we were able to proceed home. At the time, I thought it was a fluke. Then on may 30th it happened again on my street going around 30 mph, so I called the dealer and they said I could come in the next day. Later that same day, I was in rush hour traffic on rt 22(busy highway) & it happened while I was going 60 in the left lane, this was very scary as it was difficult to get over to the shoulder with so much traffic. I took my car to the Ford dealer on Friday may 31st & they said there were no alerts on the car, that they would do a software upgrade that would hopefully fix the issue. The receipt they gave me listed that a throttle body was needed, & it was on back order. I have been trying to minimize using the car, but on June 15th I had to go to my niece and nephew's dance recital in south NJ. While driving home on 295 (major highway) going around 65 the car died again. I was able to proceed after restarting the car, but didn't make it home again without it happening another time. I was making a left turn at an intersection light and the engine died. Thank god it wasn't a wider intersection or I would not have been able to coast through. At this point this car is unusable and is a death trap waiting to happen. I called another dealer, and the part is on back order there as well. This is clearly a major problem with defective throttle bodies in the 2010 Milan that should be recalled, I would like to know how this problem will be rectified. The proof is in the fact that they cannot make the part fast enough to fix the broken cars. The two dealers I dealt with are aware of this widespread problem, obviously due to a manufacturing defect with the throttle body assembly. I have <60k miles.

On April 19, 2013, I had one incident where my car lost power with no warning. I was going approximately 40 mph. I suddenly realized I had no power and noticed that the wrench light and other lights came on. I was able to steer the car off the road. I had to turn it off and then restart it. I took the car to the dealer service dept but they said they couldn't find anything. It seemed to run rougher for the next month but didn't stall again until may 16. At that time I was going approximately 30 mph. On may 17 it stalled two times while going 70 mph on the interstate. On may 19 it stalled one time while going 60 mph so I parked the car for the weekend. I called the dealer and had to drive over an hour to the dealer. It stalled three times on the way to the dealer. I drove with my flashers on the entire time because I was terrified that I was going to be in an accident or worse. My dealer has determined that it is the throttle body. My car has been stuck in the shop since may 20 waiting for the part that is on nationwide indefinite back order and there is no fix date in sight. My car is not drivable and I am just thankful that I haven't had an accident or been killed because of this problem. I have lost confidence in my car which I was so happy with. I also am paying on a car that I can't even drive.

Stalled three times, without warning, while traveling at 50 mph. Almost rear ended each time. Vehicle 38 month old and less then 34,000 miles. Replace throttle body. Please have Ford check into this before someone gets hurt.

The contact owns a 2010 Mercury Milan. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 32,000.

Purchased this car used in July 2012. Is a 2010 and had low miles on it. Dealer claimed vehicle was a lease and was turned in. After driving the car several days, it stalled at stop sign, no engine light appeared. After re-starting, it drove fine. Several weeks later, vehicle again stalled at stop sign. No engine light. Vehicle was brought to dealer where the throttle body was replaced. Several days later, vehicle again stalled at stop light. This has been going on for over 9 months. It may not stall for several weeks. Dealer kept the car for one week, with a mechanic driving it as it was hooked up to portable diagnostic machine. It never stalled, nor did it show any engine lights. Dealer claims they cannot fix it if they do not see any indicators on diagnostic machine. It is no longer under warranty and if I want to continue to pursue this, I have to pay for each trip. Certainly, someone must have an idea of what is causing this as this seems to be a safety issue. I am expecting to be rear-ended any time now.

While operating the vehicle under normal conditions the vehicle would stall out and lose power resulting in rapid decrease in speed and create unsafe driving situations. Car would still be running but pressing the gas would not result in acceleration. Turning vehicle off and restarting again would sometimes remedy problem but problem increased in frequency and severity, even happening to my wife while driving the vehicle on the highway at speeds in excess of 60+ mph traveling through bridge/tunnel system in local area.

The contact took the vehicle to a local mechanic for a diagnostic test. The test results did not show any defect codes. The contact did not take the vehicle to a dealer for a diagnostic test. The failure mileage was 63,000.

Tl the contact owns a 2008 Mercury Milan. While driving various speeds, the steering wheel seized and the vehicle shuddered. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled and completely shut off. The vehicle failed to restart. The contact also mentioned that the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard when the brake pedal was depressed. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 75,000.
