I have a 2010 Mercury Milan premier thats power steering went out I found out the part has been recalled on the 2011 model but not the 2010 model and it's the same exact part so now the 2011 has been recalled but not the 2010 and I'm out over 600 dollars + to fix it.

When driving the vehicle a wrench emblem appeared on my dash warning panel. This has happened twice before. In the last instance the vehicle then dropped speed from 45 mph to 5 mph and ran very roughly. I then pulled the vehicle to the curb and turned off the engine. I restarted the engine then drove home with no issue. I checked my owners manual and found the indicator was a throttle linkage malfunction. I brought the vehicle to a Ford service center. They replaced my battery but this did not alleviate the issue. Luckily for me there was little to no traffic when this problem occurred as without warning my vehicle lost power. I checked if there was a recall for this issue but found none. To me this is a safety issue that should be addressed.

Car looses all power engine shutters and sputters very dangerous! throttle body code came up with my mechanic took it to Ford dealership they will not replace it I'm scared to drive it now . Has happened 6 times this past month Ford told me a wheel speed sensor was at fault that has been fixed with no improvement of car basically shutting down . . Limp mode for safety ??? Ford ! you drive this car 70mph on the highway when limp mode igages pretty scary !! your going to kill people !.

The vehicle just slowed to a stop. I just nursed it to a repair shop!.

While driving the vehicle a warning came on stating power assist failure. Car had manual steering only. The first time it happened it went away when the car was restarted. No such luck this time, warning stays on and no power steering. Luckily I was on straight roads both times. I see there was a recall on this but the dealership says there is none??.

Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Mercury Milan. The contact stated various warning lights illuminated on the vehicle upon start. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic were the vehicle was diagnosed and informed the contact that the timing chain needed to be replaced. A VIN search was performed on the vehicle and showed that there are no active recalls. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure was 127,000. Jo.

Started car for a drive after oil change/ disconnect battery for terminal cleaning and reconnect. Upon acceleration, could not get car to shift unless let off gas. Shifts hard, did not shift 3 and 4 gear until acceleration of at least 55 mph, then 70 in 4th gear. On highway seemed to want to slow down. Upon parking, let it idle. Car flashed engine light, wrench and curvy road. Idling was rough, as if vacuum was not working. Turned car off and then on. Wrench disappeared and curvy road but engine light on. Checked codes. Only threw one code not related to problem. Unable to drive this way. So many complaints but no recalls. Never buying a Ford again. Looks like time for foreign car.

The contact stated that the vehicle exhibited the same symptoms as listed in NHTSA campaign number: 15v793000 (fuel system, gasoline), which she received. The vehicle was serviced by holman Ford (3641 NJ-42, turnersville, NJ 08012, 888-449-0296), but the failures recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and stated that nothing could be done since the vehicle had already been serviced. The failure mileage was approximately 71,000.

I was driving down a main road when the car just lost power could not accelerate. Pulled over to the side had to use e brake to stop. Turn off car try to turn it back on and it would not start only dash lights came on. Check engine. Had it towed. Mechanic diagnosis 1 of the back coils went bad along with ecm/pcm. Fried the coil on the plug fuse as well. Very dangerous and scary when your driving in traffic about 50 miles per hour. Car has 74,000. No warning light came on before this car has been maintained by Ford with oil changes and multi point inspects. This seems to be an issue with Mercury Milan but no recalls???.

I was driving up the hill & slowed down for the speedbump. I started applying the brakes to turn right into the driveway but the car lunged forward, causing me to miss the driveway & turn into the yard. As I stepped on the brake the car continued to speed up so I screamed at my husband "james I can't stop the car!" he yanked the handbrake up but it didn't stop or slow down and the engine made a continuous high pitched racing sound. We crashed into the house, damaging it & breaking my left arm! the car was totaled. All this occurred in just a matter of seconds. Fortunately our family was in another part of the house and weren't injured.

Rear passenger side tail light stays illuminated even while brake paddle is engaged. . . Basically I have no brake lights. . . Also fuel recalls still hasnt been done on my vehicle.

Our car suffered loss of power and erratic throttle (surges of forward movement even when foot not on the throttle) several times in January 2017. Car unsafe to drive, would leave stranded in the middle of high-speed traffic on highway. Diagnosed with a bad electronic throttle body by russel and smith Ford dealer in houston, replaced 1/19/17 under "Ford customer satisfaction program 13n03. " on 8/28/17 same symptoms occurred, intermittent power acceleration and loss of acceleration while at speed. Taken to brandon Ford (florida) that day, again diagnosed with a bad electronic throttle body, which was replaced. Picked car up 8/31, and within 1 hour we lost power while at speed. While at a red light, car surges forward even with brake pedal applied and no foot on the gas. Have again been told it must be a bad throttle body.

Trottle acutator stuck in closed position as the car was moving about 25 mph, pressed the accelarator but nothing was happening,engine was at iddle, and was able to move to the side of the road. Started the car again and everything worked for abot a minute and then it happened again. When I got home after a few restarts I hooked up my comupter to read the obd code that came on !! it was code p2112 , witch is the trottle acutator module !! after reseting the obd code it was working fine on the driveway. I'll take it for a test drive later. It seems clear that a problem exists with the trottle acutator on the trottle body !!! a design flaw is very possible, and it presents a danger when driving on the road with a sudden loss of power and speed. A recal should be in the works for Ford !!! I have read too many complaints about the same problem. My car has 32,000 miles and is a 2010 year.

2010 Milan hybrid lost power on two occasions in heavy fast interstate traffic. Safe to pullover light illuminated, max speed of 5mph , dealer replaced 12v battery first time. 4 to six months later, same dangerous scenario and one more time trying to get vehicle to a dealer. The dealer said it was a defective electronic throttle body. The only recall was on models after 2010 beginning in 2011. The 2010 were never recalled although numerous complaints. 54000 miles on vehicle.

I was driving on 495 toward silver spring/georgia Ave. And the call just loss acceleration without warning. The engine and wrench lights illuminated on the dash. The car cruised at about 5 miles an hour. An extremely dangerous situation to say the least. I was in the middle lane and had to work my way over to the shoulder. I'm taking the car to the Ford dealership on 8/23/2016 for diagnosis. There appears to have been complaints reported to NHTSA about this problem and the case was closed without a recall. Let me tell you, this problem is not only real but extremely dangerous. Something more needs to be done.

The contact stated that the engine reved and the speedometer fluctuated up and down from 0-120 constantly. The vehicle jerked back and forth each time the engine was started and when shifting into drive and reverse. The contact believed the throttle control cables were failing because, while idling, the vehicle reved up to 2 rpms. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was 111,656.

The vehicle was not able to be restarted and had to be towed to the dealer. The technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. As I started the car the drove a short distance then it started to buck then the wrench sign came on the dashboard. I checked the manual and it said throttle/transmission. I switched off the car and started again then a few seconds it happened again. After shutting down for five times I managed to get home safely. No indication whatsoever prior to this happening.

When I shut off the engine and started it up again, it ran fine again. This would be an extremely dangerous situation if this occurred when I was making a left turn with oncoming traffic. I took my vehicle into o'meara Ford at 7:00 a. M. On October 13, 2014. They indicated they were looking at the throttle body and would need to keep my vehicle overnight.

Electric throttle body issues.

While accelerating, the car began to jerk violently and came to a stop, and shut off. The car was unable to run or idle. It was towed to a Ford dealership where they diagnosed a failed throttle body and it was replaced. I was on a residential road so no injuries, had I been on the highway, things would have been different.

Vehicle lost most engine power. Could only be driven at low speed. Turned ignition off and then re-started. Vehicle then seemed ok until it did it again. . . . . . And again and again. Took vehicle to dealership where they replaced some valve and gave the car back to us. Car did not make it 2 miles before it exhibited the initial problem. In other words "they fixed nothing for the price of around $500. 00. " the vehicle is now going back to the DE. . . . Stealership.
