1 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2002 Mercury Mountaineer

Failure Date: 10/07/2004

Abs light has came on 4 times in 2 years I had the abs sensor replaced every time the truck has only 35450 miles on it. I paid over $31000 for this truck and I have had more trouble with it than any truck I have ever had in the past.

2 Brake Abs Warning Light problem of the 2002 Mercury Mountaineer

Failure Date: 11/15/2003

I have a continued problem of the abs light coming on. I have had it in the shop 5-6 times. They changed the sensor and a while later it comes back on. On several occasions, my brakes have gone all the way to the floor. The dealership maintains that Mercury is aware of the problem and may be working on a recall. My light is now on again and have placed a call to the dealership. I have to wait for the manager to return to town to see what he would like to do. Oh, and I do have the extended warranty that I have paid over $2,000. What is that for? what will it take, my brakes to go out?.
