I went in to the local dealer to have a coolant leak checked and was told that my rear springs, struts and brakes were all bad, the springs were broken and were hazardous to drive with. Total cost of these repairs is well over $1,500. I asked about the recall on the springs and was told it was only for the front of the vehicle. The recall should include the rear also because the same springs were used in the rear as in the front. I should not have to pay to have all these things repaired because of faulty springs. I was also told the other items, struts and brakes were likely cause from the bad springs. Ford needs to be accountable, many other people have had this problem.

Car not handling properly. Brakes squealing. Very poor gas mileage. Car riding lower in back. Sounded/felt like I was riding on a flat, tire pressure was down, but not badly (3 lbs). Took to mechanic for tuneup. Advised rear tire bad with flat spots. Purchased tires to be installed. When mechanic pulled tire/wheel to install, noticed rear spring was broken. Pulled tire/wheel from other side. It too, was broken. One break was new, the other older as ends were rusted over. There are rub marks and wear on the rubber covering over both springs as well as the coating coming off. I have the broken springs and have taken photos that show brakes and discoloration. Two (2) new tires, two (2) rear springs and alignment cost $614. 68. I frequently have my grandchildren with me. Either one or both of them could have been severely injured has the pieces come through the seats.

I was driving my car at about 20 miles an hour and I felt a vibration. I made a decision to pull the car over and get off the roadway and stop. When I tried to use my brake I felt the resistance half way down and then it suddenly went all the way to the floor. I saw myself gaining on the car in front of me. I quickly turned to the right and up on the sidewalk hitting the curb in the process and then instead of hitting a store wall I turned slightly to the left and headed dead center for an edison pole. I could have killed someone. I need to talk to someone who can tell me who to get to look into my brake system to see what went wrong. I am so scared to ever drive that car again. My car is only 5 years old and in excellent condition and maintained well. Never had any hint that my brakes were faulty. My car has been looked at and he said the body can be fixed. He doesn't know about the brakes. I need an expert to look at those brakes. Can you help me???? my air bags did not deploy.

On Sunday Aug. 17th I drove onto a steep exit from a 4 lane highway to a fiveline highway. I had no brakes. The light at the bottom of the ramp stayed green (there were about 40 cars waiting to enter the intersection)--I crossed all five lanes and crashed my car into a dirt bank. I had no brakes --the man following me said (and told the police) that he smelled a burning ordor or brake smell and had commented to his wife that he thought something was wrong with my brakes before the incident. He advised the police. The police checked the brakes and the pedal was on the floor. I was advised yesterday (8/19) that state farm is totalling the car--that they can find nothing wrong with the brakes. Now there is no way that something did not go wrong with those brakes--my father and I were almost killed. I want to know if other Ford Sables or taurus--1999 models have had a similar problem?.
Problems with abs. The vehicle was in two accidents due to the inability to control the vehicle during normal driving conditions, where the abs did not work. The vehicle was in for repair 7 times. The following are repairs and or problems the vehicle experienced: torque converter replaced after transmission fluid was found low, exhaust leak fixed, washer fluid would spray when the turn signal and lights were on, shaking when the brakes were applied/resurfaced rotors, trunk leaked water, replaced multi-function switch to fix washer fluid problem, abs not working when there was a panic stop, left and right spindle assembly was replaced, front end rotors were replaced again, wheel alignment, the abs did not engage and caused an accident, and replaced left side outer tie rod end.
With foot pressed down on brake pedal vehicle started to accelerate. Engine was racing, and vehicle suddenly took off and hit a building. Upon impact, none of the airbags deployed. Driver was unaware of speed. Please provide any further information.
On the first occasion I was stopped waiting in line to make a left hand turn, foot on the brake, the car suddenly accele rated as if someone had stomped on the gas pedal. I put both feet on the brake, car still was moving, I put it in park, engine raced so I shut it down. After restarting it returned to normal. The second time it happened, my daughter was driving in stop and go traffic, as she was slowing, with foot on the brake, car again accelerated, the car lurched forward and collided with a vehicle in front of her. She to had to shut down the engine for it to stop. I believe it to be a product failure and have reported it to Ford consumer affairs. It appears they have dismissed my claim without investigating it. This car is dangerous.
I hit sand that is on the road to help you from sliding on black ice,but in my case it made my car go sliding and I hit curb on right side of me,which knocked my hands off steering wheel. By the time I had my hands back on the wheel and braking I was on left side of road. At this point I was off the road and on the mud, which my brakes didn't do me any good I just keep going up and over into the canyon where I went down about 15-20 where I hit an oak tree head on. The back of my car went up in the air and went side ways slammed down on the drivers side of car. During all this neither of the air bags deployed. I received 31 stitches in face and separated ribs and bruised wrest and bumps and bruises.

While driving, the braking system failed completely without warning. I took extreme measures to avoid a pedestrian and a parking garage. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership and was informed that the abs "brain" was defective. I am very concerned about the lack of redundancy in the braking system and question if the vehicle is safe. The dealership service advisor claims he has not seen this before and that the needed compnent for repair would take a couple of days to come in. This provides us little piece of mind. Please provide us aan un-biased investigation.

While exiting ramp from a highway onto a main street, the explorer in front of us stopped before entering the main street. We were driving slowly when we tried to stop behind the other vehicle.
