While driving brakes fell onto the ground.
While consumer's wife was traveling at approximately 5 to 10 mph and slowing down to make a turn, brakes would not completely engage to stop vehicle. Engine accelerated while brakes were being applied. Dealership could not determine that there was a defect in vehicle. Then, on may 14th, 2001 consumer's wife went to stop vehicle while approaching a red light and brakes did not work/ would not bring vehicle to a complete stop. Engine acted as though it wanted to accelerate. The brake had failed twice.
When braking vehicle would suddenly accelerate. Vehicle was a rental.
Brake pedal went to floor, unable to stop in 150-200 feet distance. . . Crashed.
Sudden acceleration on two occasions; 1st occurred at 593 miles at a service station after turning on the vehicle and shifting into gear, and 2nd occurred at 894 miles when vehicle was going 15-20 mph and brakes were applied to bring vehicle to a complete stop. Vehicle taken to dealer, and informed consumer that the computer sensor needed readjusting. The dealer reprogrammmed the pcm as the solution for engine surging. The brakes failure was due to being over powered by the engine surge.
The vehicle started to go backwards while consumer was stopped at a red light.
Consumer has problem with suspension. Vehicle sits so low to the ground that in snow like weather, brakes freeze up, and perform poorly until car is fully warmed up. Consumer now believes that her claims were too hasty and that all low riding cars have this problem, car simply is not suited for country driving conditions.

I have a number of worries with my vehicle. The following are: when playing the radio/tape deck, you hear a loud buzzing noise coming through the speakers even if the radio is turned down; when steering from left to right you'll hear a cranking noise coming from the front end of car; car does not absorb bumps at all, it rocks, makes knocking noise coming from somewhere near wheels; when driving on highway at a speed of about 50-70 mph, car will sway, like a wind is blowing it away; feul sensor will float, you can not count on it to tell you how much gas you have; trunk hood flips up in the air so fast and hard, I have stunted my fingers before on it; the doors on the car have a sharp edge to it, if you don't stand back when opening the door, it can gash your leg; wind shield are a blind spot, to long, wipers are so strong they vibrate the car, unusually strong; back window on left side (passenger) will not roll up, or roll down sometimes; assembly of light moldings/fixtures in back of car are off(not evenly lined up), so is the leveling of trunk lid; car jumps when starting it up, like it's ready to pull off, even when your foot is on the brake; when moving the gears the car makes a knocking noise, and jumps also; brake light comes on and goes off at times; car loses power at times, even after the transmission was replaced in February, 2001; keyless alarm system is sensitive, sometimes a inconvience, if you pick keys up and touch the panic, or trunk release button it can be set off in the house, behind a brick wall.

Brake shift interlock permitted shift from park with engine running without foot pressure on brake pedal.
In wet road conditions when consumer applies brakes tires squeal, and vehicle slides. Brake pedal feels normal. This happens only intermittently.
Passenger's side front and rear seat belt will not retract or extend, it will stick in either the retracting poistion or extended position. Consumer states seat belt failure still persists and has been ongoing since date of purchase, consumer states the seatbelts will lock up and not release, consumer also complained of the brakes squeaking, however dealer could find no problem.
When consumer placed foot on the brake the pedal went to the floor without any deceleration of the vehicle, as a result the driver swerved into a driveway and parking lot, after pumping the brake a few times the braking power returned, a mechanic diagnosed the problem as a master cylinder seal failure, after this replacement the problem reoccured.
