In oct. 2006 I took my vehicle in because the right front and rear doors were sticking and not opening at times. The dealer replaced the door panels. In July 2008 I took the vehicle to a different dealer for the same problem with right front and rear doors. They replaced the clips that hold the door panel to the frame, sighting poor design of the door panels. Currently (Jan. 2010) I am again having this problem with the right front and rear doors again and now the driver's front door. This will be the third time I've had this issue with the passenger doors. Mitsubishi does not feel this a concern to them since my vehicle is no longer covered under warranty. My concern is that this is a safety issue, currently three of my four doors get stuck and will not open at times, what if I were in an accident and needed to get out of the car? please help me bring attention to this matter.

The contact owns a 2004 Mitsubishi Galant. The vehicle was parked and the contact was unable to exit from the front driver side door. The door would not open and the contact had to exit the vehicle through the front passenger door. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The contact stated that the failure would only recur in warmer temperatures. The contact believed the inside door panel would become stuck to the vehicle, causing the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure also recurred with the front passenger side door. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
Problem #1) purchased used vehicle from private seller. The driver side door/window has rattling sound during driving, causing unpleasant driving experience and concern for safety. During pre-purchase inspections, dealership(s) did not had clear diagnostic explanation regarding cause and/or solution. Problem #2) rear passenger right side door, when door was shut, with the child safe lock unlocked, passenger is unable to open door from inside. Driver must open passenger door for passenger on the right, problem occur often on (average 8 out of 10 times). Problem was not discovered by dealership during pre-purchase inspection. Problem #3 & #4) moonroof will not shut during highway driving (above 40 mph) from tilted position. Driver have to open moonroof (press button toward rear side of vehicle) in order to open moonroof, then close moonroof (press button toward front side of vehicle) to close moonroof completely. Also, occasionally, when closing moonroof (from tilted position), moonroof does not close entirely, leaving an inch of the moonroof tilted (average 1 out of 5 times).

The door handles that you pull to exit the vehicle has snapped off on the drivers door. I cannot exit the car without putting the power window down and reaching out to open the door. If I have no power I cannot put the window down making it impossible for me to get out of the car without climbing over to the passenger side. I belive this is a manufacturers defect because I have 2 door handles that have cracked in the same place, one has not completely broken off yet, but the drivers door handle has renedering it impossible for the driver to open the door from the inside. They are made out of cheap plastic and I would not be surprised to find the other 2 handles have also cracked in the same place.

I have had problem after problem. . . Had rotors replaced 3 mos after purchase, complained of violent shaking numerous times. I was told this was b/c I had "after factory" wheels that were too big for my car. I learned to live with it. The next thing to occur was a loud noise while driving coming from front end wheels. In June of 2001, I had an a/c idler pulley replaced for $150. As soon as I drove away, the noise presented again. I finally gave up on sitting at the dlrshp for 3 hrs w/a 3 yr old, so I've learned to live with it. . . Yet again. The noise still persists as of 2/02. In may of 2001, I began experiencing electrical problems. To date I've had all recalls svcd. Upon the start of my car, the sunroof, lights, anything power, radio, etc. , were not in function. I noticed this the first time after pulling away. Numerous times thereafter (2x in rain) I started to pull out and turn on my w/shld wipers to realize nothing worked. My temp. Fix was to shut off the car and restart again. . . Praying. As of late. . . I have had my e brake light luminated for about 2 months, for no reason. My oil lamp light would come on here and there. When starting my car now, sometimes my radio will be "on" but, won't start working and will eventually come in from the back spkrs up to the front. The other temp fix I've found when things aren't working, is to turn the key slightly back toward me and it turns things on. On top of all this. . . My black weather stripping on top of my car has flown off (clips broke) this happened the first cold w/end of Dec 2001. W/in 2 days, both flew off while I was on the hwy. I had to pull off to removed the remainder. And getting to the last but not least stuff. . . One day last week, my locks would not stayed in the locked position. I would lock all, reverse, turn, do anything and they would unlock themselves, miraculously, the next day it stopped. As of last night, my door ajar lamp is on and remains on & my dome lights -will not shut off.
Master control switch malfunctioned and started a small fire that melted the buttons on the door-Mitsubishi refused any liability, I paid 575. 00 for the faulty products Mitsubishi manufactures-I spoke to Mitsubishi's corpoate headquartes-they refused to assist me in any way. Any advice? thanks.

As I turned the ignition to start my car on morning, the drivers side door caught on fire and melted. The fire ceased as soon as I turned the car off. My car dealers which aren't being helpful at all, are not accepting any liability for this defect within Mitsubishi. Today my dealer tells my its gonna cost me $130. 00 more because the window was fried and doesn't work. This is ridiculous and I need some help. . Mitsubishi doesn't understand the work . . Duty. . . Thank you.
The passenger side door will not open properly. The problem has been repaired two times and is again a problem. Possible safety issue as the passenger has difficulty opening the door.
Leaking coal tar from door sealant- defective both front doors.
Tires are shaking due to lugs:nuts being too loose. Also, rear of vehicle is too low/ brakes have been repaired five times, and the odometer isn't working.
Driver's side electric door lock malfunctioned/replaced.
The rubber door seal on the both rear doors keep coming off. The dealer states that this is due to cold weather . The seals have been replaced about 4-5 times.
