The failure mileage was 179,000.

The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that sunlight and heat caused the dashboard to warp and separate. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but refused to offer assistance because the vehicle was no longer under warranty. The failure and current mileages were 62,666.

I have a 2003 black mitusbishi Galant ES. The problem with it is the paint. . . The top of my hood is disgustingly white and faded, also the roof of the car, and the top of the trunk. The fade is spreading and I don't know what to do. My car is not the only one. . I searched for this problem online and found that there are thousands of complaints about Mitsubishi paint. There has to be a recall for this. It's embarrassing driving around with the paint that hideous.

2002 black Mitsubishi Galant, it seems that all the Galants for several years have problems with the paint. . The paint its like disappearing if you look around and pay attention you will find a white coating coming from the primer used. . . I would like to know why a recall have not been issue yet.

I am writing to complain about the paint on the exterior of my 2003 Mitsubishi Galant. It is black and has begun to turn white and peel. I have noticed there are countless other instances of this happening. I believe this may be a manufacturer defect.

The wheel covers on my car flew off random times going down the interstate. Tires were in good condition but it seems that anytime I went over 70mph I would lose a hubcap. This could cause an accident or car damage. Headliner in back window has started to come down blocking rear view. The dashboard passenger side has come loose from behind glove box. This houses the air bag could prevent proper deployment or dangerous deployment if its ever needed. Lastly, the clear coat on the trunk has chipped away. I know at one point there was a recall on (black) cars for this specific reason. Except my car is gold. :( on the positive note the engine and transmission have been great.

2004 Mitsubishi Galant which is black the car paint is turning white.

My car is black and the paint is starting to get little white dots in big areas! I asked the Mitsubishi dealership about the problem with the paint and they told me it is with all the black 2000 Mitsubishi Galants! as I see it , it should have been taken care by Mitsubishi! I don't feel like it makes the company look very good when I see all these black Galant's that look worse than mine! if it is not taken care of other people will know what kind of products Mitsubishi sells and won't buy one! I personally will not unless this is handled!.

Water leaks into the interior cab on the passenger side of car from the air conditioning unit located under the glove compartment. When making a left turn, the water pours inside cab causing water to pool under the carpet. Also wets the wires and has caused the radio to short out so far.

The door panel on the drivers side pops out, therefore jamming the door in the closed position. The plastic clips or taps seem to be defective and unable to hold the panel in place.

There is a defect in the paint on my 2000 Mitsubishi Galant. As first I thought there was something I was doing wrong, until I found the numerous consumers with the same problem. I'm not sure how Mitsubishi has avoided a recall but this is a manufacturer defect and should be completely corrected by the company. The paint on the hood of my car started to become rough, then over the period of a few months began to come off. First the clear coat, then the paint, so now its down to the metal in some areas. Next it will rust, and I am not to blame. I should not have to paint the whole car out of pocket in order to protect my investment.

My 2001 Mitsubishi Galant has been leaking very bad on both the driver and passanger side ever since I got it. I not only have to fold my pant legs when I ride in my car but it is also growing mold, which can't be healthy. It also has never had good exterior lighting. My headlights always seem dim and they point upward rather than at the road where they belong.

I have owned a 2000 Galant brand new for the past 5 years. I keep up with the service, and always use Mitsubishi service department. The past few months however (summer of 2005) - right around the 5 year anniversary date - I notice that every time it rains, the "floor of the driver side is flooded with water". It is such a huge nuisance. There is no evidence of the trail of the water at all. I have asked the service department to check it out, and they mentioned that "maybe the water is coming in from the seams of the sunroof, etc. , that it might also have debris in the sunroof, and they have cleaned it out". That was of no help!!!! so, my car smells super musty and mildewy a few days after every rainfall. I try to dry it out as much as I can, by changing the mats and using towels to soak up the water after every rainfall and every snow fall. What a mess!!! thank you.

The car started fading on the side doors. Was told by dealer that it was a complaint to the manufacturer. After the summer of last year the roof started to fade all over. There has been many complaints with this type of car owners. My father and I tried washing and waxing the car to keep from fading, but its damaged to the point where the car will need to be strip and sanded.

(1) minor front bumper impact was to be repaired under an insurance claim (2) in teardown process found spot welds that were rusted out and improperly sealed. This was determined to be a manufacturer defect - nature of accident would not have caused damage to apron area. As this is a major safety issue, repair could not be completed and vehicle was deemed a total loss. (3) Mitsubishi not claiming responsiblity. Have photos and adjusters that reviewed vehicle that can provide statements as to this being a manufacturers defect.

My Mitsubishi g is a 2002. I bought it 2/2004 from carmax! not even 3 months into driving my car, I've had brake problems which began squeaking, then grinding. Carmax changed the pads and I still had the same problem at least 3 months later! I bought 4 new tires from sears! this is not my 1st car and I know brakes should not be changed that often. I went back to the dealer 3 times since I bought my car. They are good for saying the complaints are not listed on the warranty. Oh and everytime it rains, my entire left side is drenched only on the floor! the dealer I purchased says they can't find anything wrong. Now my inside floors are getting worse. Every time it rains heavy! the Mitsubishi hub caps never stay on the tires! the heating system makes noise when you turn temperature from hot to cold???? I've always thought this make car were a satisfying company. Blue book car value should really investigate the cars made by Mitsubishi during the entire 2000 years! not to mention people like myself are making car payments.

Defective paint on roof and trunk with big white patches after only 4 years. Took it to a dealer in east bay in California and they said would repaint roof and trunk but I would have to leave for 2 weeks. I would have had to rent a car for 2 weeks so it was not worth repainting because I had no means of transportation.

Mold had developed around the doors and windows of the vehicle and caused a horrendous smell. The mold spores caused the consumer to become sick for four months. The dealer was notified.

Consumer states that the vehicle was manufactured improperly since it doesnt hane key holes to open the vehicle on the passanger side. Nlm.
