The passenger seat airbag light is blinking on the dashboard as well as the passenger airbag on/off light is on meaning that the passenger airbag if off. Dealership found code b1018 for the occupant sensor. They told me the passenger seat cushion needs to be replaced. This is a huge safety concern as the airbag will not deploy if I were to get into an accident due to a faulty sensor.
So while I am driving with a passenger my sign on my dashboard shows that there is no airbag for my passenger.
My airbag light suddenly started blinking on my dashboard. For several years I have had problems with the orange center passenger air bag light working intermittently. I had a Nissan dealer inspect it and was told there was nothing wrong with it. It continued to act sporadically as before the visit unable to detect if a passenger was in the seat or not. Now, as stated above my red airbag light blinks continuously on the instrument panel. After taking it to a different repair shop, I was told it was the seat occupant sensor and it needed to be removed and replaced. The srs passenger discriminating sensor needed to be replaced also. I was told I needed to replace the seat cushion (passenger side). This problem needs to be addressed for obvious safety concerns as the same problem keeps happening to many of Nissan's vehicles above and beyond their other recall campaign for newer models with the same problem. Yes, my car is out of warranty but that shouldn't matter as this is a very urgent safety issue of a known defect that Nissan needs take responsibility for. My car has very low mileage (86,000 & 12 yrs. Old) and rarely do I have a passenger in the defective seat. Now I can't have anyone use it for this safety reason. The cost of a repair by Nissan dealer is upwards of $2,000.
Takata recall.
1. The airbag is keep blinking at all times. 2. Load noise from exhaust manifold when start the engine and engine is cold. 3. A few weeks after a rainy day, when the weather gets hot, inside the car smell very bad as if there is a rotten or dead animal in the car.
Takata recall. . . I was hit from behind by a commercial trk doing 50 mph I was going 5 mph getting ready to make a left hand turn, when hit. No airbags deployed & the shoulder harness on the seat belt failed to lock. Resulting in concussion, serious back, neck & hip injuries. . Two complete safety failiers when hit at 50+ mph. This is completely unacceptable. ## VIN failed ## Nissan Altima 2009 ##.
I have a problem with the driver sit bell. And my air bag going off no accident I went to the dealer for dat the reset that for $ 125. 00 the tell me next time I have to pay $ 2745. 00 to fix the front passenger air bag, if the air bag going off again I wont to no why because my car never been in accident.
Passenger airbag will not come on when you sit in seat.
My air bags do not work on the driver or passenger side. They have stopped working for some time now. The light is steady bleaking on the dash showing its not working.
"tamara recall" I'm a nurse and I was dressed and ready for work upon arrival to my car my fob allowed me to unlock my door but whom I got in and attempted to start my car I noticed I couldn't press my breaks they were tight and steering wheel was also locked. I pressed the push to start button but nothing happened I looked at the information center and only noticed a amber key light up and lock light on around the start button. I have no other way to work and its pass my clear call out time to work but I have to call my don crying because I can't get to work I don't know what's wrong with my car it won't do anything. I'm a nurse my patients depend upon me being there to help them a well as my fellow nurses and doctors!! I had to call a tow truck to take my car to the Nissan dealership and I was told it was the steering column lock. I asked him how much would it cost to repair he said 800 dollars. I'm a single mother with a son who is a senior in high school it's his spring break week, I have pictures, class rings, announcement, cap and gown, prom etc to pay for but I need my car to get to work!! I don't want favors, want what's right!! a 6yr/ unlimited mileage is a cheap way out. Nissan knew and knows about this manufacturer defect but still out these cars on the road not really caring or concern about what the results could be. . I've been a nurse for over 10 yrs, so does people have be stranded be it old or young with medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes or even someone who requires use of oxygen to breathe/live to die and family members sue Nissan before a recall is issued? prevention saves more lives and its a lot less expensive. Thank god for all these petitions pages with 100s and 1000 of signatures along with people sharing their stories about this unfair too off to people!! I expect a class action lawsuit soon.
Help, a melting and shiny sticky dash on my 2009 Altima generates a tremendous glare on the windshield and prevents me from clearly viewing the highway in front during the day. It also distors the viewing during the night due to the on-comming vehicles headlights. It is highly serious and dangerous driving safety hazard problem that could/will "it is just a timing issue" cause an accident, the dash can't be clean and is melting. It is also minimazing the value of the vehicle. Please advise if there is solution or recall from Nissan to fix this problem.
The dash board melts, it creates a glare in the windshield when driving which makes it hard to see on coming traffic.
Air bag deactivate on the passanger side even when someone is sitting in the seat. This happens on and off many times. I think they should of recalled more years.
My 2009 Nissan Altima coupe' dash is melting. A car dealership told me when the dashboard is melting the airbag on the passenger side will not deploy correctly in a crash. I also can not see out of the front windshield because the shinny sticky mess throws a blinding glare while driving. Nissan will not help me. This is a problem with the product used for the dashboard.
While sitting in the passenger seat riding with my wife, I noticed the passenger air bag lit meaning I was not protected in the event of a crash and I weigh 180 lbs. I don't see a recall for this but I am going to call dealer Monday and check on this. My son has also reported this to me as well and he weighs about 160 lbs.
The dash on my Altima coupe is "melting". The dash has never been cleaned with any chemicals and is very tacky to the touch around the vents and seams. Due to the location of the melted components, it creates a very blinding glare that impairs my forward visibility through the windshield. I have contacted Nissan and they refuse to help me although this is a common issue with this model vehicle. Nissan has already had a replacement dash made with different materials which uses a different part # than the original dash. This is a very dangerous issue as I have almost gotten into accidents due to being blinded by the glare.
Passenger airbag turns on and off even when passenger is in seat. It occurs frequently and daily. So far Nissan has not issued any recalls, heard there was the same problems on the 2008. This was on a 2009 Nissan Altima coupe.
Passenger airbag off light randomly stays on when a passenger in seat. Means the passenger is not protected by the air bag. This happens to passenger over 110 lbs. This is working as it supposed to, according to Nissan dealer, anymore over 80 lbs sit in passenger seat, the light should be off and the airbag should be on. The dealer could not find out what is wrong. I search complaints on NHTSA and it turned out to be a large number of complaints on 07-09 model. Please help us out, there is a truly a life related safety issue.
