The system that determines whether the passenger airbag will deploy on my vehicle is not functioning and is defaulting the airbag to not deploy. I took the vehicle to my dealer for a quote and was told it will cost up to $1,800. 00 to fix. I know there has been at least one recall pertaining to this system already (recall number 15v681000). I also asked if there was a way to have the airbag always set to deploy but was told that was not possible. An $1,800. 00 fix for a critical safety feature is a hazard that will drive people to accept undue risk. A recall for affected Nissan vehicles to replace the system or which would default the airbags to deploy would mitigate the risk to the population.
Passenger airbag light indicator & passenger airbag on/off indicator remains on even when a passenger is seated in the front seat. I think this is a safety issue because the airbag will not deploy from an impact as needed. Request any assistance with this related safety issue. Thank you.
My air bag light stays on in my dash. Went to my local dealer to find out an old code b0020-13 was detected. They found everything to be fine, so they reset the code. The air bag light came back on two days later, and the same code came on again. They recommended a replacement of the side air bag module under the driver seat to repair the concern. They want to charge me $1600 for parts and labor, and what's worse, the sop part is on back order with no eta. So I asked the dealer what I am supposed to do, and if the car is safe to drive? he suggested that I shouldn't drive the car, but the part is not readily available any where in the united states? what kind of garbage is that? they offered me no solution to my problem, and I don't have another car to drive, and they can't even tell me when the part will become available???? does this mean that this problem is a problem all across the country, because why don't they have the part available? this is a safety issue!!!! if I were to get in a accident, then the side air bag would not deploy!!.
The vehicle was involved in a hit and run and airbags did not deploy.
Takata recall while stopped on a busy street waiting to make a left hand turn, I was rear-ended by a large SUV. My airbag did not deploy and I suffered severe pain to my head, neck, shoulders and back. My Altima was later declared a total loss as a result of the accident.
The light indicating a person is in the passenger seat does not operate all the time. The dealer has programed it twice. The dealer is frustrated as they have several other customers with the same problem. The dealer asked me to contact Nissan directly which I did. I was told today by a specialists from Nissan that I have to bring the vehicle in when it is doing it, I explained it is an intermittent problem and I would be more than happy to leave the vehicle with the dealer. She informed me this was not acceptable that I have to bring it in when it is not operating properly. I guess she could not comprehend the fact that it is an intermittent problem, most likely due to a faulty t passenger side sensor in the seat. The passenger weights is around 120 pounds so she is heavy enough for the sensor to pickup her weight. I am concerned that the air bag might not deploy during an accident. Most of the time when the vehicle lights acts up is when we first start out. There is no set pattern to create this problem, might be ok for a week or two then could do it two or three days in a row and maybe go out by it self. This has been happening for several months, maybe close to a year.

I brought my car to royal palm Nissan for a recall on the hood latch and told them to check the OCS light that went on intermittently even though there was a passenger seated. This was before the recall notice. I received the OCS recall and went to coral 'springs Nissan. I returned a week later because the light remained on for 17 minutes a few days later while driving with an adult passenger. I was told it could not be checked because the light was not on then. If the light goes on intermittently, then my passenger is not safe in case of an accident as the airbag will not deploy. What can be done?.

I was travelling east on highway 70 in nc in a 2014 white Nissan Altima on a four lane highway under rainy conditions. A Hyundai was travelling west on hwy 70, hydroplaned, crossed the median and hit me head on causing her car to spin and her passenger side then struck my driver's side. My steering wheel airbag deployed but the driver's side airbags did not deploy. The second impact damaged my Nissan's driver side door to the point it had to be forced open. The Hyundai's passenger side airbags deployed in both the front and back seats which is the side that struck my driver's side. My 2014 Nissan Altima was damaged beyond repair and totaled by the insurance company. I sustained multiple injuries with the majority being on my left side.
