1 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 07/20/2020

The driver side airbag is lit when starting and remains lit while driving. My concern is the airbag will deploy on it's own without impact or possible will not deploy upon impact.

2 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2017

The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. While operating the vehicle with a front seat passenger, the air bag sensor illuminated indicating that the passenger side air bag was deactivated. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 41,533.

3 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 09/21/2016

Have had 2 factory recalls for pass. Side airbag not being activated with pass. In the seat. Still having the same problem sometimes. The dealer stated I would be charged if they cannot duplicate the problem. This has been a safety issue for the past 2 years. Thank goodness we have not been in a accident that needed the use of the pass. Airbag when it was deactivated.

4 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 01/28/2015

Car was going 34mph at the point of impact, no airbags deployed. . . This was before the recall of the passenger side airbags: however severe damage done to the drivers side of the car as well and no deployment of any airbag.

5 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2015

The pass. Side air bag off light do not all ways turn off when someone is setting in pass. Seat. Nissan last year had a recall for this problem, they reloaded the OCS software for this problem. I have had 3 problem so far sense the recall. Most of the time there is no one but me in the car so I do not have a idea of how often it could had fail if someone was in the pass. Seat with every trip. I have only taken the car once to the dealer for this problem because the first time I did not think anything about it. The second time I took it to the dealer and after checking it out, they told me that there was noting they could or would do because they had no failure and that Nissan will not let them replace any parts unless there is a failure as Nissan will not pay for the item. Open ref. # 19611123 with Nissan and was told about the same thin, except Nissan said that it was the dealer call but they would not pay for no failure part replacement. I believe is a safety problem and someone with power should look into it, do to the fact there have already been a recall for this problem. No one I talk to at the dealer or on the phone to Nissan would or could do anything about it. The internet has many write up about this problem that no one will do anything about. I guess they are waiting for someone to be badly injured or killed to take the problem serious.

6 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2015

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat the air bag sensor light would illuminate indicating that the passenger side air bag system was turned off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who updated the OCS software and replaced the sensors but the failure continued to occur. The contact indicated that the failure was intermittent and had only occurred with a smaller passengers weighing 115 lbs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 100. Jft.

7 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2014

Vehicle was travelling at approx 30mph when struck in the front knocking it out of its intended path into a fixed object. None of the air bags deployed. This vehicle had prior to accident been returned to dealership for a recall on soft wear for passenger side air bag.

8 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 06/19/2014

Re recall 14v-138. Took vehicle in on 6-19-2014. Reprogram of passenger side air bag sensor was performed by dealership service dept. Did not fix. Sensor deactivation light coming on again. Why is deactivation even a feature? needs removed/replaced so that air bag will deploy in collision whether seat is occupied or empty!.

9 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 05/24/2014

On the way to get a cup of coffee (less than one mile from my home) a car started coming into my lane. I swerved slightly to avoid a collision and my car went into the ditch and hit a telephone pole. Over $22,000 in damage. Radiator bent into an "l" shape. Side frames and engine went into the firewall, which totaled the car completely. I have spoken with Nissan corp. Air bag safety engineer, dealership owner, general manager, sales manager and they will not do anything about this $22,000 damage to the front end and none of the airbags deployed. Officer said driver airbag and side curtain and in seat airbags should have also deployed. They didn't and I was almost killed. The car was only 2 months old, no modifications, and very low miles. Kiro7 tv in seattle even did two stories on the crash and airbags not working and that Nissan had only recalled passenger airbags, not driver side airbags. . . Updated 07/16/14.
