On 8/31/2018, I took my 2014 Nissan Altima into the fred hass Nissan svc, dept. For an oil change, in tomball TX and while there, reported that the supplemental air bag warning light was remaining on after 7 seconds and remained on all the while the vehicle was being driven. The service advisor stated that code found was cleared and no repair was recommended. On 9/5/2018, I spoke with (xxxx), svc, mgr. At fred Nissan and informed him that the supplemental air bag warning light was on again. Mr. (xxxx) made a 7am appointment for me to bring my vehicle to the svc. Dept. , on 9/6/2018 for further diagnosis and he would contact Nissan for recommendations. Later on, mr. (xxxx) informed me that he had spoken with someone at Nissan and was told that Nissan would not cover the cost of any current or future repairs to the supplemental air system, even though it was a safety issue. 6 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 06/22/2016

I just had a recall performed on my car for the passenger air bag sensor. Now, the air bag warning light stays on all the time when the front passenger seat is empty. This creates a dangerous situation while driving at night because it interferes with peripheral vision because the light is so bright. I complained to my dealer, but they say there is no fix for it. So what do I do, not drive my car at night ? they told me that the recall was ordered by the NHTSA.

8 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 06/14/2016

There was recall on this vehicle NHTSA recall 16v-244. It was about the OCS. Vehicle was taken to crest Nissan of frisco 6600 state hwy 121, frisco, TX 75034 on 14 June 2016. According to the invoice given to me by the dealer the OCS unit was reprogrammed. On 9 Aug 16 I took the vehicle back to the same dealer because the supplemental air bag warning light remains on continuously. But the customer service agent at crest Nissan of frisco told me that there is nothing wrong with it, this light is supposed to stay on unless the passenger seat is occupied by an adult . Owner's manual on page 1-57 clearly mentions that " if the supplemental air bag warning light remains on after approximately 7 seconds, under this condition, the front air bag, side air bag and curtain air bag or pretensioner systems may not operate properly". The dealer has not only failed to rectify the problem but also lied to me about this technical and a potentially hazardous problem. It could mean that the front air bag, side air bag, curtain air bag and/or pretensioner systems will not operate in an accident.

10 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 05/16/2016

Two complaints: one: the airbag warning light on the instrument panel intermittently and randomly comes on while driving. When taken to the dealer, they said the plug under the drivers seat was loose. They "fixed it". This problem has occurred 3 times since I bought the car new and is currently doing it again, but it is now out of warranty because of mileage and they are going to charge me to fix a problem that should never happen, yet has reoccurred regularly since new. Two: when depressing the brake pedal and near a complete stop, the pedal becomes "soft" for about a half second, the car stops decelerating for that half second then continues to stop normally, thereafter. Each time I mention this at a service interval at the dealer, they say they will look into it. Nothing is noted on my invoice and nothing is mentioned when the car is picked up. It is unsettling and it causes the car to stop several feet further than if this didn't happen.

15 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 09/26/2014

While driving on a section of a us highway that was under construction, a bump was encountered where the pavement blended with old pavement. At that time I noticed that the warning light for no passenger in the passenger seat came on. The problem was that my wife was sitting in the seat and had been for approximately 8 miles at the time the light came on. I pulled over as soon as possible, shut the ignition off and restarted the car. After doing this, the warning light went off and we proceeded home without incident. My concern is that the OCS was reprogrammed when I had the vehicle serviced on 7/15/2014 and until this time, I had experienced no other problems since it was reprogrammed. It appears that the OCS reprogramming is not correcting the issue. I tried to contact Nissan, however, it was after hours and I will have to wait until Monday to report the issue to them.
