1 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 11/27/2017

Tamara recall- my air bag sensors supposedly have been replaced but I still occasionally get the issue when someone is sitting in my passenger seat.

2 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2017

Passengers airbag sensor not picking up when there is a person in the seat not all the time but periodically.

3 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2017

After taking in my Altima 2014 sv for a recall on the airbag sensors, the issue did not go away. The issue is that there is that about half the times a passenger sits next to the driver seat, the airbag system does not detect them. I am having to restart the car for security purposes in case something ends up happening. I am also having an issue with my ac system. I replaced the compressor a year ago and it seems to be failing again. As a senior software engineer I can safely say that there is defnitely an issue with their software. I hope they can fix this soon. Thanks, alejandro silveyra.

4 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2015

The passenger airbag sensor is not properly sensing the weight. The "airbag off" light is on when an adult over the weight limit sits in the seat. Plus, a child under the weight limit, the "airbag off" light is off. In short, the passenger airbag sensor is not properly detecting the correct weight of the passenger.

5 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2015

The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. While operating the vehicle with a passenger seated in the front passenger seat, the air bag sensor light remained illuminated. This indicated that the air bag system was turned off. The contact indicated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 500.

6 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 04/04/2015

Light depicting that passenger air bag was off while my wife was in the passenger seat. Light came on and stayed on for 40 miles. The first time I noticed this, a software update was run and I was told that the problem was resolved. It happened again and I was told that the car was showing a faulty in the sensors below the seat and they were replaced and I was told the problem was resolved. Yesterday the problem surfaced again.

7 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 02/24/2015

The passenger side front seat will not detect an adult occupying the seat and disables the air bag for that passenger. I have personally experienced this on multiple occasions for adults ranging in weights from 130 pounds to 165 pounds. I have taken it to my dealer on 4 occasions. The first time they told me they reprogrammed it. The second, they replaced a sensor. The third, they said my wife didn't weigh enough and to sit very still or bounce around in the seat so that the passenger is detected. The fourth time, they replaced two sensors. Still the issue persists. To try and remedy, I have to put the car in park and keep turning the car off and on until it detects my passenger and enables the airbag.

8 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2014

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated the front passenger air bag sensor does not detect an occupant. The contact stated he had his vehicle serviced under NHTSA campaign number: 14v138000 (air bags , electrical system) however, the failure persisted. Both dealer and manufacturer have been made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 4000. Az.

9 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2014

Randomly this occurs, when sitting in the front passenger seat the air bag sign for that seat will say off. On our last trip we left a stop and entered the highway but the light stayed on indicating the air bag was not activated. We had to drive like that until we could safely stop. We then turned off the ignition and started the car again, and this time the air bag off light did not stay lit. We have had the vehicle at the dealer 6 times for this problem. Because they can not duplicate the problem when the car is there the only thing they say they can do is a zero point reset on OCS system. That has not stopped this issue from reoccurring. We have phoned bergstrom of oshkosh 5 days this week, they do not return our call. The last diagnosis states electrical, however, tony the service advisor told us the last time we were their that they don't want to throw money at the car it could be a sensor, electrical, the air bag system or the seat. Because they cannot replicate the problem when we are there they do not know what to fix, so choose to do nothing. The recall on the car was done 5/26/16. However we continue to have this problem. The service advisor has repeatedly said it is because the passenger is not sitting on the seat correctly, however the last time it occurred the passenger was sitting in the same position when the air bag was off as she was when the ignition was turned off and restarted correcting the problem. Our warranty will run out soon. We phoned Nissan and they will only go by what there auto tech at bergstrom tells them, so no help there either. I have copies of invoices from when the car was taken in for this problem.
