Since April 2022 we reached out to Nissan of vacaville, CA about the head light recall. Numerous times they've told us that the headlights were not in stock. Now in 2024 they're saying that they are no longer honoring the recall. They report that it has expired. I drive the car mostly at night and the lights do not work properly. It impairs my vision and thereby can cause a wreck that could result in injury or death.

I have a expired recall that was not completed by previous owner. I called company and they refuse to fix my problem because it was expired.

Headlights don't work properly. I can barely see beyond 2 cars lengths ahead of me unless using full beam. I realize that there was a voluntary recall issued in 2020, however, I am not sure that I was notified. The dealership examined car and noted the reflectors are delaminating, the pattern of which matches that of the recall. Since this is a design flaw I consider Nissan responsible and feel they should replace the headlights at no cost to me. I don't understand why the recall was voluntary and why it had a time limit. Functioning headlights are a necessity.

The low beams on my headlights are so dim, I have a really horrible time seeing when driving home from work at night ; so bad, that my husband and son tried driving to see for themselves and now worry about me driving at night in my car. I’ve heard numerous complaints about this issue, and I thought there was a recall on this problem .

I bought this car and the light bulb is replaced. It is the actual halo type plastic head lights that are defected. If I take to dealer can they fix it. I saw issues with the same thing on the internet.

Having issues driving vehicle at night time due to headlights being to dim. In order to drive safely I have to turn high beams on. Im concern for my family safety when driving with dim lights at night time.

The low beam headlamps you cannot see at night when you are driving and I just bought this car and ran the VIN for recalls and it says that there is 10 recalls and one of them being problem with the low beam headlights none of these 10 recalls were fixed and I guess the date has passed and now I can't fix them I don't understand how that's fair to me when I just bought the car two three days ago and now I guess there's nothing I can do the headlamps is a severe safety issue I was told by the salesman at the Nissan car lot in independence missouri where we bought the car said there was zero recalls on it.

I was never informed of a voluntary recall on the headlamps of certain Nissan Altimas, my wife said it was difficult to drive at night, I installed led lights with little change. I found out after Nissan had a voluntary recall that the head light assemblies had issues, mainly DE-lamination of the chrome in the reflector assembly on the low beam light. Dealer said they would replace them unless I paid over $2000. I found non oem light assemblies, had them installed, and took the old assembly apart and I was shocked to see the degrading of the entire assembly and material deposited on the lens making it cloudy, not clear at all. I documented all this, and really do think it is a serious safety issue since many of these cars are now on the used market, and many of the owners buying on that market may not have the resources to change out the headlamp assemblies, or even original owners such as me and my wife. Nissan knows there was an issue, and therevis. We happened to be lucky, my wife was not involved in an accident due to the low output of the lights, but the difference after installing the new assemblies is dramatic and the damage to the reflector assembly and cloudy film on the lens is significant. Nissan knows of the problem, they accept no responsibility now, but no doubt it is a serious safety issue which should be looked at again, Nissan did not let all the owners know they may have an issue, heck I got more notices on a hood latch recall than anything else. This is a real serious safety issue, visibility at night is severely restricted.

Low beam lights are very low and causes poor visibility at night and in hazardous conditions such as rain, etc. I can hardly see while driving at night because of the poor and low visibility.

The projector housing in my headlights has been determined to be defective and Nissan was sued because of this. However I have dim headlights on my vehicle which will cost me $1200 to replace and Nissan has told me that I am no longer eligible for a one time replacement. This is unfair in that I was never notified by Nissan about defective headlights which have deteriorated to a point where they are so dim it is unsafe to drive at night.

Nissan had a extended warranty on their headlight assembly. I didn't know this until 2023. I than went to riverhead auto mall and had it tested, they said it passed this was on 11/28/2023. Finally based on my disbelief they agreed to have it retested pro bono at Nissan 112. It did fail the test in may of 2024. I have a daughter with a condition that requires me to drive her to and from work in inclement weather. At night I can barely see and I am putting ourselves and others at risk. They are now claiming the warranty ended in 2024 and they want me to pay half of the replacement cost. My contention is that if the first dealer had done the right thing I wouldn't be in this position.

My headlights that came on the vehicle are designed to where you can’t see more than 3ft in front of the car at night. There is a class action lawsuit out over these very headlights. I applied and was approved for headlight replacement but Nissan for some reason can’t fix my issue. I am unable to drive my vehicle at night out of fear that I may injury myself, others or even worse while behind the wheel of this specific vehicle. I just wanted this on record so that my insurance company is off the hook if an accident occurs. These headlight are absolutely 100% useless!!!.

I have had issues with the very bad low beam lighting at night. Its so terrible that its like having no lights on at all and riding with them on constant high beams has resulted in me being pulled over on numerous occasions by police but its also unsafe to all other drivers I pass. The low beams were why I had an accident in Nov of 2023. That resulted in me going down an embankment hitting a tree head on. From that accident I also learned the air bags were faulty bc they did not deploy either. I was only injured with a few scrapes, bruises and alot of soreness but it could have been so much worse. I have the photos from that wreck that shows the damage but also how the air bags didnt deploy as well. I plan to look into what other actions I can take against Nissan since they know these are issues and have not fixed them. My car was manufactured in October of 2015. I was making a right hand turn when this occured bc I could not see bc of the low beam lights. I was only going maybe 5 mph. 10 mph tops. Please contact me with questions.

The dim headlights dont work right so u cant see driving. It is very dangerous it could cause a accident. So you have to drive with your brights on so that you can see and then that could also cause accident because you're blinding the people coming towards you.

The headlights of my vehicle are so dim I cannot drive the vehicle at night. This is a safety issue, why has there never been a recall on this problem?.

1- el motor esta partido 2- foco trasero derecho las conexiones están malas y los cables podridos. 3-el carro dejo DE acelerar en carretera perdiendo totalmente el control. 4- lo lleve a un mecanico y el diagnostico fue que el motor esta partido porque al carro nunca le hicieron sus mantenciones ni cambios DE aceite y esto deterioro el motor. 5- el banco no y el dealer me dice que todo lo que le pase al carro luego DE su compra no tiene nada que ver con ellos. 6- el carro lo compre y tenia varias lamparas encendidas pero en el dealer me dijeron que estaban fallando los censores pero que todo estaba bien. Lo que era todo mentira. El dealer cuando compre el carro me dijo que tenia garantia por 6 meses, como no hablo ingles ellos me explicaron las condiciones del contrato y firme un papel sin saber que era que no tenia garantia, y cuando compre el auto venia con fallas pero ellos mismo la revisaron y dijeron que era solo una goma. Luego DE esto empieza con mas fallas pero descubro que el dealer lo cerraron y no contestan los llamados para reclamos ni nada.

Head lights dim; can barely see at night.

Headlights displaying unsafe night visibility. My wife almost drove off embankment due to low visibility. The vehicle has not been taken to the dealership for inspection yet. At this time my wife tries not to drive it at night. I found through my own investigation about the headlights that there had been a class action suit concerning these headlights on Nissan Altimas, but we have not received any recall notice.

My vehicle headlights are very dim when driving. I have replace the bulbs and still it is very dim when driving at night. I did not receive a recall for the headlights for my vehicle and when I called the dealership, they said that I received an extension, but I don’t recall getting one. Now that my headlights are very dim when driving at night I’m very concerned for my safety and I had asked them if they would honor the recall and they told me no. Because I received an extension. Not sure exactly what that means. Either way there was a recall and I would like to drive in the evening, knowing that I am safe because my headlights are working properly.

The headlights are extremely dim and unsafe to drive on the road at night. We first began noticing it a few months ago and it looks like there was a settlement online for this exact reason, but we didn't find out about it until the aforementioned few months ago, well past the settlement window. This is a safety issue and needs to be addressed with a proper recall as, looking around online I'm seeing reports of not just it being a safety issue, but I'm seeing people actually being cited for the lighting being insufficient for it passing inspection. This should be ranked right up there with the vehicle being undrivable during nightfall. It apparently is not fixed with a bulb replacement and it has to do with the makeup of the lighting housing materials melting or becoming deteriorated over time.

The headlights are so dim it is dangerous. I had been riding with the brights on because of the dimness of the lights. I was almost in a serious accident due to the lack of visibility resulting from faulty headlights—even with the brights on. These are dangerous.

Headlights are dangerously dim, contacted manufacturer and were told that we missed the settlement on this issue. We purchased this vehicle after the settlement so of course we missed it. My son drives this car to and from college two and a half hours away. I cannot understand why nothing is being done. When he drives at night, he has to have high beams on and even then, they are not the brightest. I know we are not the only ones, I have researched it and seen countless complaints about the headlights.

Headlights so dimmed you cannot see at night. Without using my high beams. I have all ready received 3 verbal warnings for driving with high beams. My understanding there was a recall I missed out in due to lost mail I assume but Nissan refuses to fix it and trying to charge me $2000 for there safety defect. I cannot afford to get this fixed out of pocket and it’s a safety issue. If it’s a recall that’s a safety issue it should be a Nissan repair.

It was a recall on the headlights and Nissan said the recalled expired. The previous owner passed away. You can’t see anything at night without driving with the high beams on I had the bulbs changed an it’s dim lighting. This is a safety issues that’s putting me and other people lives in danger.

The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the low beam headlights were extremely dim. The contact stated that the low beam headlights were too dim to safely drive at nighttime. The contact replaced the headlight bulbs twice, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the headlight housings needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but was unable to assist in replacing headlamp housings. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

Head lamps (lights) stop working properly. New ballast and lights where installed after detected the malfunction and still no lighting. I no longer can see when I'm driving at night. Yes vehicle have been inspected by police and dealer.

When driving at night or low light areas headlights are very dim. The road in front of vehicle is very dark I have use high beams to see.

Both front head lights (low lights) are very dim; right headlight may require re-wiring due to constant burning out of head light (low lights) and turning signal light. Measures have been taken by owner to address the situation by careful step-wise cleaning of headlight covers. After cleaning of headlight covers, there was significant fogginess still noted as having a film like appearance. This film appeared to be on the inside portion of the head lamps. Visibility was not improved after cleaning headlights. Night time driving visibility is significantly affected, leading to issue of safety while driving. Passengers have noted inability to distinguish whether headlights are turned on or off while driving at nght. Issue has been brought up to multiple Nissan car dealerships who refuse to further inspect or acknowledge the issue of defect in the 2013 Nissan Altima. The issue has previously been brought up in the case of rafael suarez, et al. V. Nissan north America, inc. , case no. 3:21-cv-00393-wlc-an. Dealership refuses to acknowledge case or issue in general.

My Altima is 9 years old now and I know things go bad overtime but my headlights are so dim I can’t see 2 feet in front of me at night snd it’s very very dangerous. I know Nissan had s class action and I was signed up and even had an appointment to fix but sadly my husband got shit while driving home from work in chicago, he survived thankfully but the next several months revolves around him and doctor appointments, surgeries,etc… and I missed my slot. I think it’s very unfair because these we’re getting dimmer and dimmer since 2016-2017 with the past 3 years so fin you can’t see at all. I’m so afraid I’m going to be able to see and hurt someone badly, and that would kill me in itself!! My 2015 Nissan Altima head lights are too dim. It is hard to see 50 feet in front of me unless I use my high beams. I bought this vehicle brand new in may 2015, the issue started in 2017.

I was driving on the freeway and my hood popped up and smashed my roof and everything inside the ceiling onto my lap. The lighting and visor broken. Roof and hood damaged. I luckily survived this. I am leading this car. I took it to Nissan when this happened. They said they’d fix it but it’s been months and now no answer.

The head lights don’t illuminate properly and the headlight assembly was never changed. You are more than welcome to inspect them please do. I can’t see at all if normal lights are on only if high beam are. I have been pulled over for riding with my high beams on citing it’s a hazard but when I put my normal lights on I was also pulled over because they couldn’t tell my headlights were on. I could potentially crash or cause a crash trying to drive at night. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by an independent service center. The vehicle has not been inspected by the police or insurance. There were no warning lamps or messages and the problem first appeared in 2023.
