The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima coupe 2. 5 s. The contact stated while driving at a disclosed speed she notice the headlights going dim. The contact did take the vehicle to the dealer and was diagnosed as the headlights units need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The mileage was approximately 58,000.

Both front low/high beam headlights failed within a week of each other. Upon inspection, has been caused by failure of simple ground wire (I. E. , burned off). Nissan service inspector stated that it was a bad, unsafe design. Changed design for 2003 because of this reason. Safety issue: headlights just went out during normal travel on road. Filed complaint with Nissan (ref: 4773934). No action/relief by Nissan. Major expense to repair. Nissan wanted to replace the entire headlight assembly at $350 each. Requires a simple ground wire replacement.
