Noises During Shifting Problems of Nissan Altima

I have a 2007 Nissan Altima 2. 5s with cvt transmission that has failed at 181,225 miles. Car has always been taken care of. . Driving down the road a whining sound started lost acceleration then a very loud grinding noise and then shifting issues. . All with in 15 minutes. . No warning just quit going. Mechanics state it is the transmission and has to be replaced. Really love my car but the replacement is so expensive. Nissan needs to help due to this is an on going issue.

Transmission 1st gear or 2 gear delays shift and shuts down . Soon as I pull off my engine or transmission does this loud grinding noise and stops moving.

Does not shift properly, after driving for long periods of time the vehicle will not accelerate, it bucks when it down shifts, makes clicking noises randomly. The vehicle does not move after idling after long periods of usage. (the fuel delivery is messed up). This happens when you are at different speeds. You can be at a complete stop and go to accelerate but have your pedal all the way to the floor and nothing happens. Then at 60 mph on a highway the vehicle will all of a sudden just all of a sudden buck when you go to pass some one.

When it is hot outside and the car has been driven for a long period of time the cvt transmission will make a whining noise. I noticed it when I was on the highway going about 70 mph. Because of this strange noise, I exited. When I was going 30 mph+ and accelerating the whining continued to happen. I am not sure what would cause this, but it sounds like a belt inside the transmission is slipping. It now stutters at times when going about 10 mph. When "shifting" down from 20 mph it will jerk.

The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not under a recall and there was nothing done to extend the warranty. The manufacturer also stated that there was a lawsuit that was still in litigation and they would call the contact when it settled. The failure mileage was 69,500.

I purchased my 2005 Altima 2. 5 s December 2004 and within a couple of weeks I had taken it in to the dealer that I purchased it from for a clunking noise coming front the engine area and a feeling under my feet like someone was under my car striking it with a hammer, this occurs at take off, shifting gears and coming to a stop (still down shifting), I also felt as if the transmission shifted very rough for a new car, it just really always felt like my motor was about to drop on the ground. The dealership service advisor came out to me and said that the mechanic said he could not get the car to repeat it so it should be fine. As I drove away it happened again, I was heated and called the dealer when I got home, they made me another appt. And this repeated again and again and again and again, never being repaired. Now after hitting 100k my car is great except for this darn clunking, so I researched the internet and it seems to be a common issue, engine mounts broken, mainly passenger side. So I ordered parts and had them all replaced and sure enough, I am amazed I didn't loose my motor the passenger one was almost like nothing was there, obviously this is a part that has been broken for a really long time. With so many complaints and known issues, why has this not become a recall?.

While drive at 25 mph, consumer heard a pop noise and vehicle didn't shift from the first gear to the second gear. Vehicle was towed to the dealership, mechanic indicated the cable broke. Consumer indicated don't know which cable was broke and she will provide further information.

When shifting vehicle into 5th gear, grinding noise is heard. Vehicle only has 900 miles. Dealer indicated that transmission needed to be adjusted.
