Tank Filler Pipe And Cap Problems of Nissan Altima

The contact owns a 2003 Nissan Altima. While driving approximately 5 mph the check engine light came on and there was rust on the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The dealer stated that the under carriage was damaged and that if the under carriage was removed the bolts may fall off. The dealer also stated that the fuel cap and the rear sub frame were corroded. All of the rotors on the vehicle needed to be replaced. The dealer stated that the state and ocean location may be a factor. The failure mileage was 42,000. The current mileage was 43,000.

Most of the time I need to get the gas station attendant to remove it and he also has a hard time. On Sunday I tried to get some gas and the gas cap wouldn't come off at all. Monday the Nissan dealership tells me that because of the plastic and spring design they have a tendency of braking and yet they replaced with the same type of gas cap. Today I tried to refuel and again I couldn't get the gas cap off and had to go back in to a different Nissan dealer. Why not just change the design so that it doesn't brake?.

Whenever I try to fill my gas tank, the fuel backs up after filling 2-3 gallons and spills out. This is the 2nd summer season I am having this problem. Last summer my mechanic said the tank appeared fine. I have to fill the tank very slowly and I often still experience this backsplash of fuel. This happens 70% of the time.
