4 Visibility problem of the 2010 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 12/12/2010

2010 Nissan Altima, approximately 9500 miles. Car was parked in driveway in the evening, first very cold night of the year, about 10 degrees. When I entered car at approximately 8am the next morning, the passenger's side window had completely shattered. The window was still whole, no areas pushed in, just fully spidered with cracks, but still in place. Upon inspection, it just collapsed into and outside of the car. Car was in private location, no chance that it was hit or otherwise impacted. Must have been mfg defect. Dealership no help, directed to contact insurance, Nissan customer service no help, just contact insurance.

5 Visibility problem of the 2008 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 05/28/2010

The driver's side mirror is housed in a casing of reflective metal, the same as the rest of the body of the car. The shape of the shaft connecting the casing to the door is shaped nearly parabolic, which means that if parallel rays of light (such as from the sun) are collected and focused so that they concentrate at one point. As it happens, the glare from the sunlight concentrates at a point right around where the driver's eyes would be. At least near my eyes, though I'm taller than average (6'5"). The glare is very distracting for me. I have to lean off to the side to try to avoid the glare. In the past I've gotten around the problem by cutting strips of black gaffer's tape (a kind of tape used by tv and sound professionals) and covering up the top of the mirror housing. It was recently taken off when I had some scratches buffed out elsewhere on the car. I happened to get some direct sun today, so I grabbed some pictures to share with you, if you want them.

6 Visibility problem of the 2005 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 04/16/2010

My 2005 Nissan Altima front windows roll down while I am away from the car. I have no idea why this happens, but I am worried my car will get stolen. It has been raining often and the wood grain is damaged, the interior of the vehicle is exposed to criminals and natures elements.

7 Visibility problem of the 2005 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 02/02/2009

2005 Nissan Altima has issues with tires and wheel alignment. Consumer states that the customer service is not good with phone calls. The consumer stated she was on her third set of tires at 22,000 miles. The technician stated the vehicle had weak axles and were often mis-aligned at the factory. Even with the proper maintenance, the mis-alignment would return. The consumer stated the vehicle would not start. It was later determined that the crank position sensor was the cause. The consumer attempted to install a car seat, but she soon discovered, the rear seat belt did not catch as it should have and it did not recoil when it was not being used. The fan would blow and work in all positions, but the only time it would blow warm or hot air was when the accelerator was in use and running for 10-15 minutes. The windows would defrost on the outside, but not the inside. It would form a thin layer of ice and fog that had to be scraped or wiped with warm water, or it would eventually fade after driving for some time.

12 Visibility problem of the 2002 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 08/05/2006

I have followed the manufacturer and dealers maintenance and have so many major problems with my car. I think Nissan needs to revisit this model and determine if it is a defect. I have an 02 Nissan Altima. The heater was replaced in the 2nd year, this year the catalytic converter was replaced and now the struts are worn out. To my understanding, this is something that happens in the long run, not with a new car.
