The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brake warning lamp illuminated and she was unable to engage the brakes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 100,000.
This happens randomly and not on a regular basis. Sometimes once a week other times twice a week. When you bring the vehicle to a stop be it a stop sign or light, it does stop the vehicle no problem, but upon taking your foot off the brake and trying to drive away, the brakes will not release. If you try and drive the vehicle, it makes all kinds of noise and will barely move. This has happened so many times, that I learned how to get the brakes to release. Upon this happening, you put the car in park, shut the engine off, wait a minute and restart the vehicle and the brakes are fine. I have gone to the dealership many times and they say nothing is wrong with the vehicle, and of course they always say " we cannot not duplicate the problem". I know this is a common problem because I belong to a forum for Nissan Armada's call club Armada. There are many complaints of this issue, yet Nissan doesn't want to admit this problem. This vehicle is not safe and it scares me to think what these brakes might do. Nissan never again!.
The brakes on my Nissan Armada intermittently go out. This usually happens when pushing hard on the brakes to make a sudden stop. The only solution is to turn the car off and press the e-brake a couple of times then release it. The problem has almost killed me twice, but luckily I was able to swerve out of the way both times. I have brought the problem to my mechanic who has grinded down the rotors and replaced the brakes, but to no avail the problem keeps occurring. So far we have lost our brakes in this mammoth vehicle about 5 times.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Armada. While driving various speeds he experienced unwanted abs activation. The dealer and a technician stated that he needed to reprogram his electronic control module. The contact is responsible for paying $125. 00 for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer didnt provide any assistance with the repair. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 70,000.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that the fuel gauge did not register the correct amount of fuel in the vehicle. The vehicle stalled while registering 1/4 of a tank. In addition, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate and the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard when depressed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or independent mechanic for the acceleration or fuel gauge issues. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the brake pedal issue; however, the failure could not be replicated. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 203,000.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Armada. The contact stated that while driving 25 mph, the braking system malfunctioned, increasing the stopping distance of the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The dealer stated that the brake booster was defective. The contact did not have the brake booster replaced. The contact previously took the vehicle to the dealer regarding a braking issue and the dealer could not identify the problem. The failure mileage was 72,235.
Extreme brake judder causing severe loss of stopping effectiveness: 1) while driving with my wife and children in our 2004 Nissan Armada extreme brake judder occurred during normal application of the brakes. 2) this is the second time brake judder has occurred with our 2004 Nissan Armada and both times the effect has been severely reduced stopping capability. 3) if scenario occurred during a routine traffic stop it's evident that the 2004 Nissan Armada would of easily entered the intersection potentially causing an accident. Thank you.
Brakes quickly waer down to the point of near loss of function due to vibration. This increases stopping distances and can cause accidents. Dealer resurfaced rotors, but problem returned within 2 months.
Violent vibration due to braking at only 6,000 miles fuel gauge is inaccurate, engine gets hot, sunroof leaks, roof rattles excessively, door rattles excessively.
Dt: the contact states that he owns a 2004 Nissan Armada. He has taking his vehicle into a mechanic three times for the same problem. There is a vibration in his brakes. He would have a kit put on his brakes and they told him each time that he would not need to have it fixed anymore his vehicle is messed up now with the same braking problem this is the fourth time. He only has 9500 miles on his vehicle. The braking problem consist of the steering wheel jumping really bad while applying pressure to the brakes. The vibration occurs even in normal braking. The design of braking system is antilock brakes. He does have the repair invoices for each failure. This has came close to causing an accident.
Brake system on Nissan pathfinder Armada 2004. The vehicle would vibrate while braking and the vehicle became increasing difficult to stop. The consumer was told that the brakes were not heavy enough for the vehicle and that the rotors were warped.

Purchased 2004 Nissan Armada in Dec. 03. At approx. 4000 mi started noticing vibration in braking and then shimmy in front end shortly thereafter. Took the car in to the dealership and they told me I was supposed to use the parking brake about once a week to reset the brakes. They told me this was common in Nissan as well as other makes of trucks. Have owned 5 other makes of SUV's and never have experienced this problem from not using the parking brake. The service dept. Turned the rotors and the truck was fine until about 10,000 miles when it started all over again. Have it back in the shop today where I was just told that Nissan has issued a bulletin on the brake problem.
Brakes "judder" once every 6 or so months. The judder manifests itself as a partial engagement of brakes, and a rapid feedback on the brake pedal. I have learned over time that I need to pull over immediately, park the car, and repeatedly jam down the pedal, (as if pumping up the brake fluid pressure). Turn off the engine and restart. First time it happened I took it to the dealer, but they could not reproduce it and the car was still too new for them to have heard of it before.
2004 Nissan Armada shakes uncontrollably when braking especially at speeds in excess of 40mph. Has been repaired 4 times so far and still happens.
When I first purchased car the brakes went out at 3000 miles and I've continued to have a problem ever since. Nissan fixed the brake judder but another issue arose. Now whenever it wants the brakes just go out. I've had the car in the shop multiple times for this problem. I have to shut car off and restart as if some electrical component is resetting. This has never been fixed and now I'm out of warranty. Nissan can't find the problem or just doesn't want to take the time to fix. This is leading to a very unsafe vehicle because there is no telling when it will happen again.
2004 Nissan Armada has a brake problem. Consumer states that the brakes on his vehicle have been replaced five times. The consumer stated the last time, the brake pedal went to the floor which almost caused an accident. The consumer stated that Nissan knew the brakes were too small for the vehicle.
