The contact stated he received notification of NHTSA campaign id number: 10v517000 (engine and engine cooling) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for repairs. The contact stated that approximately one hour after retrieving the vehicle from the dealer, the entire instrument panel and interior cabin lights began illuminating. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who advised that the contact would be held liable for a diagnostic test to determine the failure, which would cost him $90. The vehicle was not further repaired and the manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 42,500.

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Armada le. While driving approximately 25-30 mph during a rain storm the parking brake, abs, vdc and traction control lights illuminated on the dashboard. He heard a loud noise coming from the brakes when they were engaged. He also stated that the speedometer was moving up and down and the vehicle became hesitant while driving. He drove onto the emergency lane and turned the vehicle off. Within a few minutes the vehicle started but the speedometer was not working and some of the warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who performed a diagnostic test. The dealer advised him that the abs computer had burned. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 51,300 and the current mileage was 51,327.

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. While driving approximately 35 mph on normal road conditions, the brake, vdc, slip, air bag, and tire pressure warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. Suddenly, a chime sounded inside the passenger compartment and automatically stopped without assistance. In addition, the contact smelled a burning odor inside the vehicle the day before the failure. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they stated that the failure was related to the air bag harness. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were 11,293. The dashboard lights behind the 3 hvac control wheels do not come on when the rest of the lights come on. It takes 1 -2 minutes for this bank of lights to come on. This problem is intermittent. I can find no relationship as to why it does it some days and not others.
