1 Warning Light On problem of the 2014 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 07/28/2020

I have brought this vehicle to glendale Nissan twice for repair of air bag recall. Warning light came back on following day. Upon second occasion service tech said that they had changed air bag component, however there was a deleted code stored previously that somehow re-activated. He said they had cleared it and that I should monitor it. Light continues to be on. I'm concerned about safety of driving it any longer. I'm at a loss at what my options are.

6 Warning Light On problem of the 2013 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 05/21/2013

The front passenger airbag was shut off due to an electrical issue in the front passenger seat. I have attempted to get this fixed for over three months. I am driving around with no airbags in my car as the warning lights for the entire system is on and per the manual this indicates that in the event of a collision no airbags will deploy. The Nissan dealership has advised that the part at the manufacturers warehouse were all defective and that they have to have the part made in japan to be replace. Really!! I have been given the run around on this since day one. I have noticed recalls on other Nissan vehicles for similar issues but not for the Armada. I have paid 35,000+ for a defective vehicle to no avail!!.

7 Warning Light On problem of the 2005 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 10/01/2012

Warning light for airbags started blinking. Took the vehicle to the Nissan dealer in college station TX. The dealer ran a computer diagnostic. Was told that the passenger side airbag would not activate in the event of an accident. To repair the problem, the "harness" from the airbag to the computer controller had to be replace for $500+. I was told that this dealership has replaced a "number" of these airbag harnesses. I have not yet repaired the problem. The warning light continues to blink; and my passengers are at severe safety risk if there is an accident. This is a safety issue resulting from a design flaw.

8 Warning Light On problem of the 2005 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 09/07/2012

Airbag warning light in instrument panel came on. I took the Armada to douglass Nissan in college station, TX. A "computer" check was run, and I was told that the airbags would not activate in the event of an accident with the Armada, and to correct this, a "harness" that goes from the passenger seatbelts/seat weight bag to the airbags serving this area had to be replaced at a cost of $459. The service rep advised me that "a number" of Nissan's vehicles have had to be "repaired" to fix this safety problem. I asked if there was a safety campaign of any kind for the problem and was told no. I am 71 years old, have owned a number of automobiles, and have never had this problem. I have not had the repair made, because of the cost ($459 + the $50 I have already paid to run the computer check). Surely there is a safety campaign on Nissan's faulty airbags????.

10 Warning Light On problem of the 2004 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 02/18/2011

I own a 2004 Nissan Armada. About 2 weeks ago while driving the red airbag warning light turned on and would not turn off. I just had it serviced today and was told that the front crash zone airbag sensor being that it is located outside of the front radiator grill ends up rusting out from the elements of our weather. Therefore it needed to be replaced. The car is out of warranty so therefore it was billable. After doing some research I came across a Nissan recall from January 2009. The NHTSA campaign id # is 08v690000. This recall was for the exact same problem with the crash zone sensor rusting out from snow/salt in the northern us states but was only limited to 2005-2009 pathfinders, frontiers and xterra vehicles. I feel that my vehicle should be included in this recall due to the fact that it is the exact same problem listed in the recall and I live in NY state which obviously has winters with snow and salt. The recall issued a redesigned sensor to correct the problem at no cost to the vehicle owner.

11 Warning Light On problem of the 2005 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 05/01/2010

We purchased a 2005 Armada with 50,000 miles on it in 2009, at that time the dealer sold it to us with the airbags system showing the warning light solid. They asked for us to take it to a nearby Nissan dealer and get the problem looked at because they were a SAAB dealer. The Nissan dealer fixed the problem without notifying us of a cost. This action was a cost of $330 which I asked them to take the part out because they did not have the SAAB dealers authorization. This dealership told me Nissan honored the work and warranty. We did not pay a dime. Now the same light is now flashing on the dash since 72000 miles. I still have a gold warranty on the vehicle but this restraint is not covered. If this is a common problem and causes system failure on the airbags why aren't they recalling it?.

12 Warning Light On problem of the 2005 Nissan Armada

Failure Date: 07/21/2006

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Armada. The contact started the vehicle and the air bag warning light was illuminating on the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the vehicle was repaired. The failure had since recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken back to an authorized dealer approximately seven times where it was repaired yet the failure persisted. The failure mileage was 32,000 and the current mileage was 105,000.
