1 Equipment problem of the 2025 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 08/30/2025

After deactivating the parking assistance system while towing a small trailer and backing up, the info/taiment screen blacked out. No back up camera available. The screen finally came back on after driving for 5 minutes. This vehicle has already been in for a previous recall on the same problem.

2 Equipment problem of the 2000 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 08/21/2025

From my internet search using google gemini, (and google ai has a disclaimer it can make errors), I have replaced my distributer on my 2000 Nissan Frontier three times now due to a stalling problem I have experienced on hot days. My 2000 Nissan Frontier is VIN [xxx] . Let's see how much gemini info I can paste here: "the distributor on your ka24de engine contains the camshaft position sensor, which is a critical component for engine timing. The distributor itself can fail for a number of reasons, including: internal bearing failure: the bearing that the distributor shaft spins on can fail, causing the shaft to wobble or seize up. This disrupts the signal from the camshaft position sensor. Failed or failing camshaft position sensor: the sensor itself can fail due to age, heat, or internal electrical issues. Ignition coil failure: the ignition coil is often integrated into the distributor housing on this engine. As it heats up, it can fail and lose spark, causing the engine to stall. The reason this issue is often related to hot weather or a hot engine is that the heat can cause the internal components of the distributor to expand and fail, and it can also cause the ignition coil to break down more easily. Symptoms of distributor failure the symptoms for a failing distributor on the 2. 4l are very similar to those of the v6 engine: stalling, especially when hot: this is the most common symptom. The engine may run perfectly when cold, but after it has been running for a while and the engine compartment is hot, it may stall and refuse to restart until it cools down. Engine runs poorly: you may experience a rough idle, misfires, or a loss of power. Hard start or no start: a failing distributor can cause the engine to crank but not start, as it is unable to produce a spark. " Nissan no longer provides a replacement distributor and I suspect aftermarket are rebuilds. ***stalling in traffic I believe is a definite safety issue*** please let me know. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of informatio.

3 Equipment problem of the 2022 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 08/14/2025

The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that the vehicle was manufactured and delivered with no rear tow hitch installed. The contact indicated that the missing tow hitch created a safety hazard concerning the fuel tank in the event of a collision in the rear of the vehicle. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the issue, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 21v917000 (trailer hitches, fuel system, gasoline). The failure mileage was unknown.

5 Equipment problem of the 2025 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 07/02/2025

Dealer has verified that a gap around the windshield at the top of the passenger side in front of the sun visor is large enough to allow air into it as to create a whistling noise when reaching speeds of up to 70 mph. It is only a matter of time that water intrusion will occur & it is possible a windshield will lift & loosen & possibly may become airborne. I believe a recall should be issued immediately to fix the issue before a major incident occurs. Nissan is aware of the issue & is covering under warranty up to 36,000 miles only. For others who have extended warranties they are not covering the defect. With the amount of response on social media I would estimate that this issue affects well over 50% of Frontiers. It is a well known issue with the manufacturer yet they will not do a voluntary recall. They need help deciding to do the right thing!!.

6 Equipment problem of the 2022 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 06/19/2025

I took my 2022 Nissan Frontier sv 4x4 in for an oil change and a state inspection. The shop discovered that my left rear axle seal was leaking all over the brakes and rotors. As a result, it failed the inspection, and I had to spend $1,600 to get it repaired. The mechanic mentioned that it's unusual to see this issue on a 2022 model with only 27,000 miles. I figured I should report it, as it might be a concern.

10 Equipment problem of the 2019 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 01/10/2025

When the auto is idle, there is no heat, it blows cold air. It only blows heat while in motion. Upon research, uncovered an extensive amount of information that indicates this is and has been a problem in most Nissan vehicles for over a decade. In frigid temperatures, if car is disabled in route, passengers are in danger of frost bite or death since the auto does not provide heat when not in motion.

14 Equipment problem of the 2019 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 09/17/2024

In a no fault accident, I was passenger. When the collision happened, I was wearing seatbelt, and then I was up in the dash/ windshield, there were flames, smoke. The airbags had "exploded" the seatbelt was hanging out of the passenger door after I exited. Still dangling out the door where it did not retract. I busted the windshield with my head, concussion, four teeth porcelain knocked out of them, and many other problems. It's very scary , I want this to please be investigated because I don't want anyone else to have to go through this.

15 Equipment problem of the 2022 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 09/13/2024

We have had multiple occasions when the dashboard read as "system fault"with multiple warning/indicator lights. 12/12/23, while backing out of a parking space at low speed. 9/12/2024 while at a red light, and lightly letting off the brake. 9/13/24 while driving 65 mph . An appt was requested at the dealership of purchase for 9/17/24. An email notification was also received from the truck stating that the abs system may be malfunctioning. When the alert warning/indicator lights appear, the alert states on the dashboard "warning" "system fault" "see owners manual" . The system generated email states "your vehicle's antilock braking system may require service". We only received one notification from the vehicle related to the 9/12/24 alert. On 9/19/24 the dealership could not replicate or find a code related to the abs system fault and we were encouraged to bring the vehicle back if it happened again so they could run the code. The dealership would take the vehicle for a longer drive on 9/20/24 to try to replicate the issue. At this point, we filed a complaint with the manufacturer, and have not heard directly from the dealership if they have been able to replicate the warning. The concern for safety is that since the vehicle alerting that the abs system may be require attention, there may be other electrical issues with the vehicle, along with braking issue concern. There was one occasion on 1/21/2024 with a system error message stating "warning when parked apply parking brake" the vehicle had just been turned on and put in reverse. There is a large safety concern as this vehicle has had other safety issues including a half latch (where the doors would not open from inside or outside, requiring exiting through alternate door, a parking pawl recall, and transmission issues that we've brought forward in our formal complaint to the manufacturer. Including "tow" alarm notifications to strengthen the safety concern of electrical issues with this vehicle.

16 Equipment problem of the 2022 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 08/27/2024

While driving multiple lights go off on the dash including abs, traction control, and collision warning. The dash has a message that states system fault see owners manual. If you turn the truck off the system will reset and clear the faults. This does not stop the truck from faulting again in the future.

19 Equipment problem of the 2024 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 07/18/2024

2024 Nissan vehicle was sold from rock hill Nissan with open voluntary recall on front rh lower link on 7. 18. 2024. Dealer responsibility it is the dealer’s responsibility to check service comm or dealer business systems (dbs) national service history for the campaign status on each vehicle falling within the range of this voluntary safety recall which for any reason enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealer’s inventory. Federal law requires that new vehicles in dealer inventory which are the subject of a safety recall must be corrected prior to sale. Failure to do so can result in civil penalties by the national highway traffic safety administration. While federal law applies only to new vehicles, Nissan strongly encourages dealers to correct any used vehicles in their inventory before they are retailed. Repair was complete on 7. 28. 2024 at Nissan of gastonia. It took 4 hours. I'm unable to locate the paperwork but can request from dealership.

20 Equipment problem of the 2023 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 07/15/2024

Not a critical safety problem but truck has reoccurring low voltage. . Most recent are July 11,13 and 15. Dealership will have my truck on July 30 for inspection, oil change. Truck has 3000 miles. Next problem is the trucks camera for backing and forward movement. Screen is not showing all views and any view is reversed picture. Camera faulty in park, reverse and forward. Faults started occurring on July 13 2024. Truck had 2985 miles. Dealer will check the camera on July 30. This truck has a history of electrical problems. At the dealer for those on 9-26-23 at 447 miles. 10-17 -23 at 662 miles. Dealer replaced the engine room harness at 916 miles on 11-02-23.

21 Equipment problem of the 2023 Nissan Frontier

While towing a travel trailer the 7 blade tow wiring harness failed. Harness shorted out melding the connection and blowing replaceable fusible link (pn 24 370-c9906). Main wiring harness plug end melted and could have cause a fire.

22 Equipment problem of the 2019 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 04/09/2024

There is a lot of 2019 Frontier that has problems with the radio and bluetooth. In my truck it's the bluetooth, it just stop working, phone activation doesn't even make a sound. Just stopped out of the blue. When backing up the beep that let you know you close to something doesn't work stop over a year ago.

23 Equipment problem of the 2023 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 04/07/2024

Some mechanism in the door is bad. I get locked out of the vehicle when the truck is unlocked. On multiple occasions this door and truck will try to lock itself with the keys still inside (the warning alarm will go off). To get back into the truck I have to lock the door and unlock it even though the door was unlocked to begin with. If the situation were to arise where this door is stuck closed with the keys inside the vehicle, it can cause many issues for the owner/operator (this happened to me once, but the other side was not jammed fortunately). I have brought this vehicle back to the dealership many times and they have not fixed the problem.

24 Equipment problem of the 2022 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 11/08/2023

I do not know what caused this to happen. There were no warning lights or messages. Prior to this incident the transmission would rev/speed up on its own for a few seconds (I don't know if this is relevant). Salesperson told me about this and said it was nothing to worry about. The vehicle is equipped with a sensor that brakes if you come to close to an object. This sensor has definitely worked in the past. I was backing up down a long driveway, approximately 50 yards. When I took my foot off of the gas pedal, it did not slow down. Instead it sped up and was uncontrollable. I looked down to make sure my foot was on the brake which it was. I then used both feet to push down on the brake but that did not work either. The vehicle did not stop until it ran into a building. If somebody would have been behind me they would have died or been seriously injured. If the building would not have been there, I might have died or been seriously injured due to the vehicle accelerating at a high speed on its own and the brakes failing to stop the vehicle. This incident happened yesterday so it has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or inspected by the manufacturer or insurance. It happened on private property and will not be inspected by the police.

25 Equipment problem of the 2023 Nissan Frontier

Dealer installed an abs brake module on 2sd visit. Now dealer is working with Nissan for multiple other indications. All safety alerts and warnings are not working.

26 Equipment problem of the 2023 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 10/18/2023

Vehicle returned to dealer for a third time for same problem. 1st was on sept 27 2023 for check engine and all driver assistance warnings alerts flashing. Vehicle had 447 miles. Had 28 trouble codes. 28 Equipment problem of the 2022 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 10/01/2023

2022 vehicle, have owned for less than two years. All cameras stopped working, even rear view camera when in reverse. Went to dealer, and was quoted $5000 to fix issue, replace avm control unit (part # 284a1-9bu1a) not covered under factory warranty due to having too many miles. It is a common issue to that particular model (2022 Frontier pro-x) from what I've gathered online. I think it's definitely a safety concern not having a rear view camera and outrageous I would be expected to pay $5000 to fix the issue without even being certain the problem will happen again in another two years.

29 Equipment problem of the 2022 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 07/14/2023

On July 14, 2023 at approximately 07:15 am, my 2022 Nissan Frontier sv caught on fire. I got home from work at approximately 07:05 am. There were no signs of a possibility of a fire. The front left corner of the truck was destroyed along with other things that melted from the fire. The damage at this time is approximately $27,000. The truck is being investigated as a thermal incident through Nissan USA. They say it will take approximately 8 weeks to finish. At this time it is unsure as to the cause of the fire. You will also see a picture of warning lights from may 10, 2023. I was told not to worry about them because the front sensor was probably wet. Nissan could not trace a problem code.

31 Equipment problem of the 2023 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 06/20/2023

I was driving in the right hand lane on interstate 95 with my cruise control on. My speed was approximately 65 mph. In the distance I could see a tow truck stopped in the breakdown lane with it's warning lights flashing. I proceeded to move into the next lane to my left. All of a sudden my vehicle began to brake hard by itself and a message that included "25 mph" began flashing on my dash in the middle. I had to make a split-second decision to put my floor on the accelerator pedal and press to maintain a safe speed since cars in front of and behind me were going close to 60 mph or more and I was afraid I could be rear-ended. I shut off the cruise control. The message including the words "25 mph" continued to flash for about a minute or less and then went away. I cannot find any information in the owners manual that would indicate why this all happened but it could have resulted in a rear end collision if I had not reacted as fast as I did. I've never experienced this kind of thing in all my years of driving. I'm 63 years old and I've been driving since I was 16.

32 Equipment problem of the 2021 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 06/15/2023

I purchased a 2021 certified preowned Nissan Frontier with 21k miles and was promised it had passed a 167 point inspection and came with limited 7 year 100k power train warranty. This is addition to the factory warranty 3 year 36k and 5 year 60k mile that is still in effect. The truck has had to have several repairs upon purchasing. This includes ac line flushed because it was sloshing in the dash. A leaf in the right blower motor. And now my truck has been ins hop two weeks. Initially diagnosed as a bolt missing was causing a rattling in the dash . They said the dash would have to be broken down to find it and fix it. I ask them how they really know if they have to break down the dash. I had to get consumer affairs involved with Nissan because dealer said I would have to pay for the repair even though it is still under factory warranty and it was sold certified which means it was fully inspected for defects. A week and half later I was texted that it was a broken crash bar weld in dash. When the service tech called me and I raised safety concerns given it was broke after 27k miles. And he said it was not a major part of car and it is a bar that the dash attaches to and the steering column. But it wasn’t a major repair or concern. An additional question is what other wells were poorly done during production. Consumer affairs initially opened a case for replacement or buyback. But was denied when reviewed at corporate level. I appealed the decision. The truck is still in shop as I fear to drive a truck thats welds are breaking on crash bar at 27k miles. I have a young daughter that I travel long distances with every few weeks. The only way we know if a repair works is if we’re in a wreck. It is a little late at that point. Especially when service tech minimizes it purpose or the safety implications.

33 Equipment problem of the 2022 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 06/01/2023

There has been no progress or update from Nissan on a remedy for the 2 open recalls they have for my vehicle. As stated on the NHTSA website "if the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner, please contact the NHTSA vehicle safety hotline 1-888-327-4236 or tty: 1-800-424-9153 or file an online complaint with NHTSA. " it has been several months since both of these recalls were reported, this is not being handled in a timeline manner by Nissan.
