3 Tank Filler Pipe And Cap problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 02/23/2011

I have a 2007 Nissan Frontier. I ran out of gas despite my fuel gauge showing that I had a little less then 1/4 tank of gas left in the tank. I see that there was a recall for 2006 and 2008 vehicles but not the 2007. Have there been any other complaints for this problem for 2007? my gas gauge takes a long time to get back up to full and my check engine light stays on. I make certain that the gas cap is on tight after each fill up. I was told that the fuel level sensor may be bad. I have not had the problem fixed yet so the part would be available after I have the problem fixed.

4 Tank Filler Pipe And Cap problem of the 2004 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 06/24/2010

Fuel gauge does not register properly. I have already replaced the fuel cap once and had the truck in for repairs a couple of times. The service engine soon light is on almost constantly and when the fuel gets down to 1/4-1/8 of a tank, the gauge will go up to 3/4 a tank indicating that there is more gas there than there actually is. If I do not keep track of it, I can easily run out of gas.

8 Tank Filler Pipe And Cap problem of the 2005 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 11/18/2009

Why has there been no recall on Nissan Frontier pickup trucks? they have had thousands of complaints reported online about transmission failure due to cross contamination of transmission fluid and engine coolant due to a problem with the transmission cooler pipe design. This is a very common problem with these vehicles. Also I have a failed gas gauge sending unit. Again there are thousands of the same complaints online. There have been recalls on other vehicles for the same reason, yet not on the Nissan Frontier pickup. The recalls on others was issued because there would be false readings of fuel levels and a person could run out of gas in traffic and cause and accident. The same problem can occur with the Nissan Frontier because the gauge gives an inaccurate reading or shows empty yet there is fuel in the tank and the operator would have no idea if he is about to run out of gas or not. Back to the transmission, the transmission can go out completely without notice due to the cross contamination. There is no way to no if there is a problem until it was to late. The transmission will fail and there is no way of knowing there is a problem unless you check the radiator periodically. That is the only way to find the problem with out having an actual breakdown. I have had to replace a radiator, have my transmission completely cleaned out twice to remove any coolant, and now my transmission has completely failed. I am asking fro an investigation into the Nissan Frontier problems and the numbers of the same complaints. I am sure there would be a basis for a recall.

I filled up my tank and after setting for a minute idling I noticed my gas gauge was below empty and the distance to empty light was on and reading -----. My original thought was that I didn't tighten my gas cap enough, but I always do. A minute later the service engine soon light comes on. I have a 2007 Frontier crew cab nismo with 67,000 miles. While driving home the gas gauge slowly worked its way up to just below full and the ses light is still on. I have not driven very much more to see if the gas gauge works properly. 13 Tank Filler Pipe And Cap problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 04/25/2008

2007 Frontier Nissan cheap gas tank. . . What good does a lock gas cap do? the gas tank is made out of cheap plastic which is very easy for a low life person to puncture with only the point of a pocket knife!!! (the repair person, himself showed me with his own pocket knife how it took no strain to steal my gas. ) ( I found out the hard way!!! a low life person had no difficulty at all stealing my gas with just the point of a pocket knife. And with the high prices of gas a lot more of us will also find out the hard way!!! ) to replace my gas tank it cost me about $1,000. 00. !!! but even worse!!! my new $1,000. 00 gas tank is just like the old gas tank that was punctured with only the point of a pocket knife,by a low life person who already knows where my Nissan is parked!!!and how easy it was to steal my gas before!!! hey!!! I can't afford a $1,000. 00 every time some low life person steals my gas!!! can you??? I don't think Nissan can even afford that!!! either!!!.

18 Tank Filler Pipe And Cap problem of the 2001 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 05/25/2005

My 2001 Nissan Frontier has spilled fuel every time I fill up the tank since I purchased the truck. I am the original owner of the truck. I wondered why this had not been corrected by a recall so I searched the internet and found this web site. I found NHTSA campaign id number 02v300000 and to my surprise found that this problem had been noted and a recall had been issued. I contacted the dealer but he told me that based on the vehicle id number my truck did not qualify for this recall. I then called Nissan directly to be told the same thing. The problem described in the recall is identical to what I am experiencing and it would appear that neither the dealer nor Nissan is willing to do anything to remedy the problem. Thanks, sean.

Both dealer and manufacturer contacted, and are aware of similar complaints from others. Only recommendation was "refuel at lower pressure".
