After driving a short distance to exit a parking lot and waiting for an opening in traffic on a busy four-lane road with a speed limit of 50 mph, I hit the gas to accelerate into an opening and nothing happened, no forward motion. And there have been subsequent incidents; one involved trying to cross a busy street from a stop sign. This is a definite safety issue; when the drive train is unresponsive in such circumstances, people could be injured or killed. Today, I took my vehicle to a Nissan dealer for an oil change and to have this anomaly checked out. They have informed me the radiator cracked, leaked coolant into the automatic transmission, and both must be replaced. This is being done at no cost to me, as there is a known issue with the radiator cracking for which Nissan has increased the warranty to 8 years or 80,000 miles. However, the warranty notification doesn't mention the transmission may be compromised, stating only, "in vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions, a crack in the radiator assembly might occur at higher mileages leading to internal leakage of engine coolant. " my vehicle is four years old and just hit 12,000 miles.

About 1 yr ago fuel gauge stopped registering-was unaware of issues, never received notice of issues and past mileage for warranty. I have not been able to afford to fix it,so we are constantly worried about running out of gas. In August of this year, truck running rough, hesitating in low gear. Had our mechanic flush transmission, but started again and got intensely worse the past 2 months. Unable to afford to fix,we had to wait, but finally no choice but to take it in. Radiator leaking into transmission, seals cracked, etc. Going to cost 3100 to fix. Called Nissan, but they basically told me I was out of luck as truck past mileage for standard and extended warranties (that they charge you for, knowing there is faulty transmission).
Fuel gauge sensor corroded and gauge no longer works.
The "service engine soon" light came on and the fuel gauge was slow to rise after filling up. This time when I filled up the gauge was at 1/4 and would not move. After sitting in traffic for a little bit the gauge indicated that a was low on fuel and the low fuel light came on.
I have had my 2005 Nissan Frontier for 3 months and the fuel sending unit has gone out. I have been researching all it has happened to many of the owners. It is not right for the Nissan to place faulting parts and make the owners pay between $400 and $700 to repair it.
My truck began to shake and tremble when I was trying to back into my drive way. The truck had been making noises and I had taken the truck in to be checked by 3 different mechanics. I was told that they could not find anything and one stated he heard the noise but did not know what it was. The truck continue to make the noise of a grinding and shuttering sound. Did not drive but to work and home due to the problems. The noise would stop when the overdrive was turned off. Lately the truck sounds like the transmission is going. The fuel gauge does not work. It was in a recall but Nissan would not repair even though I was mailed the recall after my mileage was too high for the repair which makes no sense to me because if they sent the notice out late, what does my mileage have to do with their negligence to repair their faulty vehicles? could not repair, the cost was over $600. Had to replace a wheel bearing, over $400. Tire gauge light on. I have had nothing but trouble with this truck. I will never purchase another Nissan product. When dealing with the Nissan recall people I felt as though they could care less. Working on a fixed budget and unable to pay for high cost of repair. What can you do when the big companies refuse to repair their trucks and cars? I was informed there was no one to help me. Have run out of gas several times due to the gas gauge. I have read other's complaints on Nissans and I am surprise that no one forces them to repair their vehicles. This is my only form of transportation and without the repairs, I will be riding the bus. Tired in virginia. Thanks for listening.
Service engine light came on for the first time since I bought the vehicle brand new. Auto zone checked it out and stated it was a fuel sending unit failure. I did noticed the pass week it was having trouble reading how much gas I had left (dte) I researched and found it there was a recall on this particular issue for our vehicles. Contact united Nissan dealership and told me I was passed the 72,000 mile so it doesn't cover the recall? I don't understand how they would predict when it would fail? I did not receive a notice of this recall or I would have had it done weather I did have the problem or not. Its a common problem for our vehicles so why put a mark on when it is covered? its not fair for those experience the problem after. Contact Nissan consumer USA and stated there was no recall for my vehicle " Nissan Frontier" which makes no sense to me. So no help there. . . Ill never buy a Nissan ever again very poor on assisting their customers. We need a class action lawsuit on these guys its a common problem fix it!!!.
Service engine light comes on with error code 0463. Nissan TSB #ntb07-069d corrects this but not out of warranty! with all the complaints this should be a recall situation!.
Vent control valve failed causing vehicle to be unable to be filled with fuel. 14935-j008
fuel spills violently out of vehicle filler port !!. Fuel runs down side of vehicle onto ground. Fuel sprays all over person trying to fuel vehicle. Code p04488 evap purge problem
many Nissan models have this problem at low mileage and repeatedly after replacing the vent control valve
(valve lasts a short time then freezes closed).

My gas guage acting werid erantic. Reads full when full but reach half way mark needle will drop to empty. Nhtsa info sems say was a recall due this but ken graff Nissan of riverdale utah refuse to fix unless we pay. Notice on web ther aare many Nissan owerswith same problems.
A defective fuel sensor on a vehicle with less than 45k miles. The gas gauge gives improper readings and the service engine light is continuously on.
2007 Nissan Frontier at 54k mile check engine light came on with the error code p0463 (fuel sending units failure). Found out that this problem is also happened to the 06 and 08 Nissan Frontier that was on the safety recalled list. The check engine light light up on (p0463) and gas guage indicator will drop to empty fuel even still at 1/4 full, due to the defactive sending units Nissan manufactured. I am hoping that NHTSA will includes the 2007 Nissan Frontier as a safey recall fix list. Thank you.
"service engine soon" message appeared and fuel gauge failed. Code check revealed-po463 fuel level sensor failure. Based on internet search most of this Nissan product of various years has this problem,- a definite safety issue and Nissan refuses to repair under what should be a recall in my opinion. Nhtsb should require Nissan to repair at no cost to owner.
I purchased the vehicle in 2007 with 40,000 miles on it. It has been shimmying on the highway since I hit 60,000 miles and in spite of having my tires re-aligned and balanced, it still continues to rock back and forth at speeds over 50 miles an hour. I just hit my 100,000 mile mark on the first of October. On October 18th, I was at my son's daycare and the truck started idling strangely. The truck was puttering and exhausting black smoke. It died in the parking lot and I tried numerous times to get it started. It took about 20 minutes of trying but I got it running again, only to have it die on me in traffic. Once again, I got it started and managed to get it home where it completely died. When I was able to get it to the dealership (after a local mechanic looked at it and couldn't get it started) the dealership told me I had an engine idle air control sensor that was recalled by Nissan. I never received the recall notice but was relieved that my bill was covered. Less than a week after the sensor had been replaced, the check engine light came on. I brought it back to the dealership and they told me my catalytic converters had burned out. From what I have been able to research online, the failure of my catalytic converters is directly related to an out of tune engine (too much air or fuel) which was caused by the sensor being defective. Nissan doesn't see it that way and now I'm stuck with a $3500 repair bill on a truck I still owe money on and have owned for less than four years.
The fuel sending unit on my 2007 Nissan Frontier went bad at 74,000 miles. Nissan has declined to repair it as it is out of the warranty period. However this is such a common and well documented problem, the 2007 Frontiers should be included in the recall that is available for some of the '06 and '08 Frontiers.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated while driving 35 mph the vehicle stalled and the check engine lamp was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel level sensor was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 80,000 and the current mileage was 100,000.
Check engine light comes on with error code p0463. This is due to a faulty fuel level sensor. This has been a problem with Nissan and the previous models with the same issue were recalled. This failure causes the vehicle to be out of compliance with texas laws and will not pass annual inspection without repair.
Fill with gas and guage reads empty. Don't know how much gas I have. Also , engine light is on.
Fuel gauge inop. Service engine soon light on.
I was driving back from school on March 10th 2011. While entering a highway onramp my car engine stopped. I was traveling 40 mph and did not get any warining about the stall, my steering did not have any power and breaks were difficult to operate. When I called Nissan (1-800-nissan1) about my incident and ask if there were any recalls made to my vehicall I was told that there was no recall. I then took my truck to a reapair shop where it was diagnost with a faulty pump and burned electrical wires. This repiar cost me over $900. . Read more...

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Frontier. While driving approximately 55 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken for refueling and when the vehicle was restarted, the fuel level gauge displayed an inaccuratly low reading of fuel. The failure recurred sporadically and in addition, the contact stated that the when depressing the accelerator pedal, the pedal would intermittently become stuck in a partially open throttle position. The vehicle was not taken to have the failures diagnosed nor was the vehicle repaired. The failure mileage was 82,000 and the current mileage was 83,000.
Fuel gauge not accurate/not working properly.
I own a 2005 Nissan Frontier w/~91,000 miles. A few weeks ago the fuel gauge stopped working correctly. The fuel level reading varies from a low fuel warning light to â¾ full with each time the truck is restarted. The "service engine soon" warning light goes on and off with each restart. The Nissan 'recall' for this problem is restricted to such a low mileage, that many vehicle owners are stuck either living with the problem or paying over $450 out of pocket to have it repaired. So much for their interest in building any brand loyalty.
Air bag front sensor failure at 38000 miles, failure of fuel system evaporation valve at 38500 miles. Failure of rear differential seal at 42,000 miles, failure of rear axle bearing seals, gear oil to leaking on parking brake shoes causing slippage at 48,500. Truck has 49,000 as of 3/24/2012.
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that the fuel gauge failed and would not display an accurate reading of fuel levels. The dealer was contacted and advised that there were no recalls for the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure who advised that they were unable to assist because the vehicle was outside of warranty. The failure mileage was 109,000.
Fuel gauge problem and sevice engine soon light.
I have a 2005 Nissan Frontier, I received a recall notice at 95,000 miles for the fuel gauge not working properly, problem is they only warranty the part to 75000 miles. The issue didn't start until 90,0000 miles.
