Air Bag Problems of Nissan Maxima - part 2

2016 Nissan Maxima. Consumer writes in regards to abs actuator safety recall. The consumer stated there was an abs actuator recall performed on the vehicle, but continued to receive notices stating the recall was not completed.

At random times when I am driving the car and my wife is sitting in the front passenger seat the 'passenger air bag is off' light located in the dash illuminates indicating the system thinks the seat is empty. This is random and always after a period of driving the car. My wife weighs approximately 160#, and is sitting flat bottomed on the seat with both feet on the floor. We have begun taking cell phone photos showing a time and date stamp as proof. We also have some without a time stamp. We have taken the car to a Nissan dealer 3 times and they report 'no problem found'. I have contacted Nissan customer service and they are not interested. I am willing to provide the photos as proof. So far the times we have experienced this is at hiway speeds, flat and level roadways.

Few days ago the air bag red symbol start blinking. Then, I turn off the car and try to re-start the engine but doesn't start engine anymore. Car is unusable. Thanks to god! its just happened close to my house. Car was left at the front of my home.

On June 6th. 2019 my 2005 Nissan Maxima struck a disabled vehicle left in the middle lane of the long island expressway (a 3 laned highway). Although I was traveling at 60 mph when the collision occurred and struck the disabled vehicle from the rear, the passenger airbag never deployed. This resulted in the passenger receiving significantly more serious injuries than that of the driver (who's airbag did deploy).

2012 Nissan Maxima passenger seat belt notice stays on no matter who sit in seat. Dealer says need to be replaced $1,600 to fix this is absurd as they recalled 2013 models. Has been doing this for past 3 months.

My daughter parked my car outside at approx. 10:30 p. M. At 2:05 a. M, it ignited and exploded. My state farm investigator said it ignited due to abs actuator leaking brake fluid onto the circuit board. I called Nissan because there was a recall for this but they claim my car was not included in the recall. I had recently purchased the vehicle and only had it like 20 days. Car was totaled!.

Car wreck airbags didn't deploy and car is totaled.

Airbag deactivation light came on and stays on for the passenger seat even with an adult in the seat.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the front struts were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. While traveling down a road at 40+ mph, avoided hitting a deer that jumped out, applied the brakes to no avail and impacted a tree that was off center of the hood on initial impact and no airbags inflated anywhere within the vehicle.

Takata recall: no one seems to know my vehicle was recalled except Nissan and car fax. Luckily I downloaded the car fax app and saw the recall. How is it that car fax knows about the recall for my VIN# but NHTSA doesn't know? and I wanst offered a rental out loaner car.

Takata recall I live in ocala florida I have contacted my local dealership about getting the recall fixed. The problem is they want me to leave my car with them. I have a full-time job a child and an elderly parent I need to have access to transportation. They offered to shuttle me somewhere but that's not acceptable so I haven't been able to get the repairs done. What other choices are thre?.

I was making a left turn from the highway on to a side street & was t-boned on the passenger side by a SUV. The air bags did not implore.

Dashboard is melting causing an unsafe glare in sunlight. Also potentially weakening the performance of the passenger front airbag causing an unsafe condition.

When driving the vehicle, a passenger who sits in passenger seat the airbag notification light comes on indicating the airbag is off. We purchased this vehicle on July 29, 2017 with 37000 miles. We had to make videos to show the dealership that we purchased the vehicle. The dealership keeps saying they are unable to find problems bit it's a safety hazard to even drive this vehicle.

The airbags failed to open in a car accident. The front bumper was smashed and my daughter could have prevented injuries if the airbags had open. I have lost trust in Nissan and this crushed my faith in their products! !!!.

The horn on this vechicle does not blow. Nissan serviceman told me this was common on this vehicle, and if I didn't repair it , there might be airbag issues. I call Nissan and filed a claim # 22887303 on 7-5-2016. Was told not to move vehicle from Nissan repair dealer. On 7-6-2016 was told by Nissan they could not help with this hazard problem.

I see on your website my model year 2001 Nissan Maxima was recalled for air bags. I have never been notified that there was a recall for the air bags. Also there was a recall on the suspension control arm transverse link pins. I don't ever remember seeing a recall for that either.

I was driving down the interstate, going around a curve, the wheel stabilizer turned on for no reason. I could not regain control of the car. The wheels locked up and I got slammed into two concrete walls and a diesel truck as a result. None of the airbags deployed.
