6 Car Stall problem of the 2004 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 03/04/2018

On Sunday, March 4, 2018, in the morning around a 11 am, I was driving my 2004 Maxima and it started to loose power and turned off. I tried several times to start it, but it wouldn't hold the idle and turned off again. No Nissan dealership or repair shop was open so I called the nearest pep boys shop to my home and they towed my car to their repair shop. They said my car was totally dead and needed a new battery even though my battery wasn't that old. I purchased a battery, still wouldn't start. Pep boys then said I needed a new alternator, so that was installed, still wouldn't start. They then said it must be the engine, so the next day, Monday, March 4, 2018, it was towed to the fairfield, CT Nissan dealership where it is currently until I can figure out what to do. After 3 days, of calling the Nissan dealership to find out what was wrong with my car, bet, in the Nissan service department told me that they had taken off the side of my engine and tried to manually turn the drive shaft, but it wouldn't turn and that it was the timing chain and that it would cost anywhere from $2,600. 00 to $3,600. 00 to repair my car. Please help with start a case, I can't afford this. I'm in school for paralegal studies and a CT licensed tax preparer.

7 Car Stall problem of the 2006 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 07/29/2017

Bought car one year ago at 120000 miles. After 2 mos, car started jumping while pressing acceleration and then began to just stop while I was driving. Engine light came on , had camshaft position sensors replaced. Less than 2 mos later, car was starting to stall again, accelerator still making the car stall. Had fuel system checked, was fine. Then my engine light came on again, now saying camshaft position timing needs to be replaced. Mechanic told me this is the most common problem he sees in Nissan vehicles. Should be a recall on the timing chain if the problem is so common. I ran into a ditch twice and very nearly was in an accident when my car cut off while I was turning at a busy intersection. I couldn't turn the wheel and nearly crashed! this has happened numerous times. I reported the issue directly to Nissan but since no accident was reported I did not receive any help or advice from them.

Fortunately the incident occurred in a parking lot had the steering lock control failed while driving a significant accident would have likely occurred as the driver would have lost steering control. 33 Car Stall problem of the 2007 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 10/24/2014

This Friday October 24th I was driving back home in my 2007 Maxima se (VIN: 1n4ba41e07c844349) when suddenly my car stalled while driving with no control over the steering wheel. Luckily I was at the entrance of my subdivision minute after taking exit from a 50 mph state route. My car ran over the curb barely missing a rare collision with a SUV whose driver had no clue what's going on with my car. I can't even imagine what could have happened if the car stalled on 50 mph state route during the rush hour. The problem turned out to be a faulty cam shaft sensor that I've ordered and will be arriving in a day or two. Regardless of the faulty part I believe the car behavior is unacceptable as a result of that. I did spent time researching about this problem online and it looks I'm not the only one as there are many Nissan owners with this problem and have their own horror stories to tell. I guess I'm extremely lucky that I'm writing this email in person vs. Someone else doing it for me. It's extremely hard for me to believe that the car would stall due to a faulty issue and I'm sure Nissan is aware of this problem but there is still no recall. I urge Nissan to consider this issue seriously and make remedy available as soon as possible before its too late.

34 Car Stall problem of the 2004 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 09/25/2014

35 Car Stall problem of the 2006 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 08/14/2014

My car will start off riding great but then the jerking starts and the acceleration stalls. I am so afraid that I may get in an accident as a result of the constant jerking. Sometimes my engine revs up and my car jerks as if the whole car will just fall apart. I pray everytime I get behind the wheel. I don't have $3,000 to get it repaired and I should not have to pay for it when there is a class action suit against Nissan for this issue. I am hoping that a recall is done so that I won't have to pay. I believe its a major safety issue because I can get in an accident or injure someone. It pisses me off that Nissan won't take responsibilithy.
